Hi Somos-Pobres, have to ask first, are you? Pobres?
As for your question, no, I have never used a polymer resist, I guess what happens is that once you are comfortable with the good old stuff, you become an old dog, reluctant to learn new tricks, but this old dog would love it if you could send me some info on polymer resist or a web site where I can read up about it.
All the best, and good luck with your printmaking venture, I'm always game for answering questions if you have any! Mariann
the name "SomosPobres" is spanish and it means, "we are poor"
as for the resist i use, i buy it from another artist named Jennifer Page, you can read about it on the site where she sells it CAPEFEARPRESS DOT COM
the film is called "Puretch"
& yes i have a question for u, after you ink the plate & its ready, do you half to wet the paper? or do you just aply the paper dry over the plate? and the run it trow the press
Hola Somos Pobres..... well, hopefully not for long... my career asa full time artist really started with printmaking... so stick with it!
Yes, the paper has to be wetted, and blotted before you canprint it... this is so the press can "press" it into the lines of the etching to pick up the ink, printmaking papers are made especially to be wetted, some have more size than others. I use Fabriano rosaspina, lovely and very easy to work with, but a bummer to roll if that is a consideration.

Hi Tim.....of course, somebody would spot it, am not printing twice, but as the wheel on the press is in the way of the camera on the other side, I simply pulled it back to the "easier to film" side! Right apart from that, i often pull the print through twice, as i print a la poupee, I find it deposits more ink on the paper, making ofr a brighter print.... and no, it does not seem to stretch the paper, providing the pressure is right.
amazing and very instructive, never seen before printing one etching twice, I wonder if the print does not stretches more when the second time through the press...(after the first print)
This is great! Very instructive Thanks a lot
