  • Do you still have this lawn mower? Is it the Eager 1 model no. 917387160?

  • Hey, Craig, great video. I like the Craftsman you showed toward the end. I pulled the identical mower (Craftsman 5.0 w/Tecumseh) out of the woods last Saturday, combined two carbs to make one good one, cleaned the mud, leaves, and oil off the deck, cleaned and lubed the power drive, and got it running. It still needs some tweaking--revs and surges a bit--but it probably just needs to be run a while with fresh gas. Love your vids about mowers--keep 'em coming.

  • nice videos man, really awesome! found one of these, piston rings were done but i have it for parts now

  • Those damned little primer bulbs are a PITA! They usually crack up

and fail after a year or so. Cheaper than a choke, which is the WHOLE

DEAL the last 20 years: GET IT OUT THE DOOR CHEAP & TAKE

    THE CASH!

  • Hello Craig, your video is very helpful. Looks like I shall be getting my mulcher or lawnmower going of the same type with a bag. I took the filter off and that red tube fell off and will have to figure out where it attaches. Maybe it is not the important.

  • u paid 5 bucks for oil!!!! dude thats so over priced! where you live? i live round lake superior ad i pay like 2.35, no offense but u got ripped off by watever asshole sold you a quart for 5$

  • please tell me u still have that nice son of a bitch if so ill take it from ya

  • how much do you wantforit if you still have it

  • I tried pouring gas into the spark plug hole in an older chokeomatic Briggs 5 HP. and it wouldn't fire. I've taken the whole engine apart and cleaned it and put it back together. I'm 15 and small engines is my hobby. Do you know what the problem might be, yes it has spark I cleaned the magneto and it has a new spark plug and gas.

  • learn from me im only 14 and i honestly have more experience then you now if you want to start it you take of the spark plug put a funnel into the hole and tip it and pour little bit of gasoline then put it back the spark plug and it is guaranteed to start

  • @xxxbmxerxxx1 removing the spark plug, and tipping the deck to pour gasoline down a spark plug hole is too much work. Besides its pretty self explanatory if the engine does not fire when a starting fluid is sprayed into the carb it probably has a ignition problem more than likely. Most mowers i find dont have ignition problems, so i usually check the carb first as a matter of habit. I can tell your an asshole since you bragged about your small engine experience. BLOCKED!

  • @craig1974 im 13 to.....but i suck nothin ever works!!! i have some experience, with techumseh engines the carb always clogs up know wat i mean. nice fix

  • @craig1974 My mower feels like i wants to start but when i start it i see white smoke coming from the filter area is this good or bad please response?

  • i wish i could go out and find lawnmowers every weekend we have landscapers around where i live but love your videos!

  • hey craig do you know how to change the oil valve on the craftsman??? My is broken and oil is going every where. I appeciate it if you can help me...thank you

  • Nice score. Suprised it ran if it was involved in a flood. The rope for the pullstarter was probably broke because someone tried to start it when it was full of water.

  • when you clean out old gas from lawnowers just put the old gas into some suitable container and bring to local reuse-city transfer station for free. Dont dump the gas out like that - it will burn wholes in stuff. Other than that - good vid.

  • you can use 10W-30 oil in lawnmowers Craig. It's nice because they are easier to start using it. It also gets into small spaces better so it lubes better in some cases. Briggs & Stratton even recommends it as a replacement for SAE30 in more modern engines. They say you can use either. I use 10W-30 in all my stuff pretty much. My '91 3.5HP briggs starts really hard when using SAE30, so I don't like to.

  • NOCK KOCK WHOS TECUM SHIT

  • tecumseh fine engine when you take care of them...

  • sure runs smooth i love free mowers

  • good fix but like some people said that mower model is SHIT. The pull cords always rip off in the models I have seen and the fuel system is crap.

    Overall tecumseh fucking sucks.

  • i found one of those yesterday but it doesnt have the recoil thingy so that sux XD

  • 10/40 oil is fine in a mower down to 5deg.

Lawnmower sae 30 oil is the biggest rip off ever. It is just low grade single weight oil that costs more than synthetic oil.

  • That's exactly my point! You can get a whole quart of high quality automotive oil for the same price as 20 ounces of "lawnmower oil", such a RIP OFF!

  • Nice find!

  • That lawnmower is a piece of trash. I know, I own one. The pull cord broke, the handle broke, the primer bulb broke and it runs like crap. Like I said, trash.

  • hey keep your fuckin comments to yourself asshole engines are engines....

  • Keep my comments in a publc forum to myself? I don't think so, asshole. I'll post anything I choose. If you don't like it, good.

  • ok asswipe... KEEP COMMENTS TO SELF IF THIER NEGATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fuckin downraters... and idiots

  • Squatters Rights , Salvage Rights , and now .... Other Peoples Trash is your Treasure Rights.

  • Maybe someone sees this video thinking "Hey! That's my mower!" X-D

  • Hey Craig, What did you ever get out of that old Craftsman 21" mower w/ the 5.5 tecumseh you picked during the flood cleanup last June?

  • I think i sold it for 60 or 65 dollars to this guy who lived on the same part of the city where i found it.

  • nice find i love when you come across good stuff on the trash nights

  • i found the same one , that looks the same , only thing its a 6 hp

  • I have this mower but with a 6hp motor, it takes me 40 pumps on the primer just to get it to fire off. I also have a nasty oil leak.

I am going to clean out the float bowl, put in a new plug and air filter.

  • worst mowers ever lol

  • leave the dude alone..he's not running for president, so who cares what he does...

  • well opinions are like assholes. it was only a gravel parking lot with layers of crushed stone, and not soil. jerk off!

  • dyoungmail2000 is a asshole enviromentilist

  • Shut Up Jerk!!!

    (dyoungmail2000)

  • is trash picking fun?

  • yes

  • Oh, how ironic! Just last summer I sold a Craftsman push mower and it was exactly the same mower! And I sold it on Craigslist too hehe. That mower is only worth 50 bucks maximum. I hated these mowers and I was glad to have sold mine in time before our economic crises hit the fan! Thanks for sharing

    Peace :)

  • I think i sold that mower for $65.00. With this poor ecomomy i think their is going to be a market for used mowers.

  • how much money do you want for it and where do you live

  • those mowers suck i have one piston rod snapped

  • briggsandstratton1 i too have that problem..........cold start 1st pull..........after mowing u turn it off then try to restart it.. no good. it will not start...

  • I have a mower exactly like that, it will start when cold, but does not like to start when hot.

  • craigslist works good to sell stuff. i use it too to sell my trimmers and mowers i get for free.

  • correction tecumseh

  • ta-cump-sa

  • teh-kum-sah, actually...

  • actually its tec-cunt-seh, if you want to get technical......

  • Tekoomsē, actually...according to the dictionary.

  • What would the old traditional American Indian pronunciation of it be?

  • the one above is the american indian pronunciation according to the dictionary. and I confirmed it using wikipedia.

  • Hey this is a good find.I actualy think people are throwing away better goodies were you live.

  • So So....Like i said people were taking advantage of the flood clean up. They were throwing anything away regardless if their was a flood, or not. If their was not a flood cleanup the city would charge them 10 bucks to pick up the trash. As for the mower i dont know if it was submerged in water, or not. My guess not. Its not like their was a hurricane Katrina here. After i fixed it i resold it to a guy on the same side of the city where i found it for $65.00.

  • nice finds you should tape some of your Garbage Picking Routines so we can see were you find your treasures!

  • nice i got one with 6.5 hp self propelled check it out in my vid i have a 90 snapper ill show you
