It's almost always interesting to hear Noel sing the songs he wrote, but this is a rather boring performance - save the falsetto on "shadow" - which is an interesting take.
The album version is great and the Knebworth show in '96 is probably the best night this song has ever seen.
@PimmyPortoHippy "I just wish I could hear Liam sing Don't Look Back in Anger" - apparntly from an interview i read, liam wants to do DLBIA in accapella at future shows, would be fucking mega!
@GavOasis I think Liam will only be allowed to sing his songs and can't sing Noel's. Liam has like what, 4 songs? He better get writing quick if he wants to perform live
@JolleyEFC im guessing since he was in oasis, he can sing what he wants. i mean i dont know but i hope he can. Liam actually has quite a few songs that he has wrote, but people only seem to recognise little james, songbird, im outta time and better man.
@GavOasis Who ever wrote the song owns the rights to it, so if Liam wants to perform any one Noels songs he would have to ask permission, I can't see Noel agreeing to it if I'm honest.
@acousticfoo its about whatever each and every listener wants it to be/understands it to be drawing on their entirely unique life experiences. google 'the author is dead' and have a read
@acousticfoo I know your comment was years ago but just thought I'd let you know, this song is about Richard Ashcroft when Noel saw him in London when he was on heroin, and how much he'd changed from his glory days 'as they took his soul, they stole his pride'.
@acousticfoo Its actually about song writers. Noel once said when he writes a song its like people can see right through him, hens cast no shadow. Richard Ashcroft also felt the same way which is why Noel dedicated the song to him.
Liam is a wanker. Noel is King.

u dont need permission to play songs live
u just can't record them, and why record songs already recorded??
sunj5976 1 year ago
@sunj5976 You need permission if you can make money from covering that song for example Live albums/videos
