Nope, the Dead were the most over-rated band in history. They didn't even rock, they were a bunch of folksingers, for crying out loud. Sorry but, yep, I saw them live and they bored the living crap out of me. I'd rather see the freakin' Kingston Trio. As far as REM, at least they rock, but they are far from the greatest live band ever. As Keef once said, any band in the world, on a night when things are clicking together, is the best live band in the world. The one exception to that? The Dead.
