Akuma: DP FADC Fire Hadoken.

I'm an Akuma player and i'm shaky about using it because it's using 2 bars. My friends say i should use it.

What do you guys think.?? Two bars for that extra damage? Is it worth it? As an Akuma player should you use it?

i do it all the time, especially against players that manage to block everything i throw. once i connect with the start of a combo, i want to give the most damage i can.

gouken is better, you cant jump his power up shot, only block, plus gouken has ultimate counter. it can counter akumas ult like nothing

Gouken's counter works against offensive attacks.... AKuma's is a grab.. therefore you can't counter it..

If by counter you mean clutching an ultra in his face before akuma can grab then that's fine... Akuma's ultra cannot be countered by gouken's counter.

Normal Moves

• Dash Punch •

This makes Ryu dash forward and hit with his fist.

• Overhead Punch •

Ryu takes a short hop forward and does an overhead punch that will hit an opponent blocking low. You can Link into a Crouching Light Punch after this move and follow up with additional attacks for a bigger combo.

• Crouching Medium Kick •

You can Cancel this move into all of Ryu's Special Moves. It has good range and speed and should be used often.

Really? I havent played this in a long time and getting SF4 brought me back to arcade. I always thought Akuma was the cheapest because of his air throw and air fireball, plus all of Ryu's moves. Is Balrog cheap because of the crouch punches? How is Sagat cheap bc when I use Ken I always beat people using Sagat.

I wouldn't say they are cheap, i would say that they are two of the hardest characters to play on street fighter IV if you play against people that actually know how to use them. The reason i hate balrog is he has too many anit air moves like the headbutt and the mini uppercut. And sagat just dominates even if you play a scrub using sagat he always has a chance to win.

No such thing as cheap in Street Fighter. There are ways to get around Balrog's anti air moves and punish him and Balrog in the current Tier list ranks below Sagat, Ryu and Zangief. Sagat might be broken but thus far at a high level it isn't easy to use Sagat. We'll have to see until later.

It's worth noting that the numbers of Sagat's dominance come mostly against lower tiered characters - Ryu & Gouki split vs. him in the arcade statistics and most were 4/6, no worse. Of course, the fact that he doesn't lose more than win against anything is something of a problem.

Ahahahaha, that was my Balrog. I had just switched to Rog and Arcade Stick the Monday before this tournament (which was on Saturday) and I decided to try him out. You could see a few times where I fail a head butt and just jump in the air and punch. I was aiming for a crouching mid punch to dashing straight combo a few times and utterly failed. Should have stuck to my Ken on pad but this was a fun tournament none the less.
