I'm just curious as to why anyone would listen to the words of this song and think that it is being racist. The song isn't about racsim at all. To me, I hear a call to wake up and stand for something, make a difference in the world, and to give your life meaning. If Mos Def was a white man, I would read the lyrics to the song and still get the same meaning.
