The Macbook Air is a "thin notebook" PERIOD! Its nothing more. It has low resourses, akward keyboard, only 1 USB port, no optical drive, people argue that the screen cracks in some time, the battery is not removable. And its EXPENSIVE.

For one, it has no optical drive. And yes, they had to downgrade some components due to heating and space issues (i.e. just a 1.66 GHz processor and 80 GB hard drive)

This thing is very sturdy and won't 'break' as easily as some here suggest. Also, this is not an ordinary laptop, it's a notebook. This isn't meant for intensive useage as a normal laptop. Hence you can do without multiple USB-ports and a disc-drive. You can use external disc drives or usb hubs when you need it, but when you're on the road or travelling it's not necessary.

Actually they're both good, but I tend to like mac better. And actually, time machine isn't like system restore. It backs up ALL of your files. System restore mostly does settings and WHERE your files were.
