  • The band backing up Joe here is Booker T and the MGS. Booker T Jones is the organ player. The drummer is Steve Potts. This band is in the rock and roll hall of fame

  • Does anyone know who the drummer is?

  • Killer slide work. It's amazing he went from the Eagles and put out several songs that will stand on their own for a long time to come.

  • @Antiks72 nope, he was great before the Eagles crossed his ways... with his influence (after 1976?) the Eagles will play a bit harder and with him they`ll grow to that what they will be today :-)

  • Joe is "Da Man" !!! and yes that is Steve Cropper and Donald "The Duck" Dunn

  • Drummer's a beast ~ ace!

  • Saw Joe Walsh in early 70's in Nashville and remember my chest vibrating when he played this song. Saw him again in '79 with the Eagles on the Long Run Tour. Bad Ass!

  • Joe Walsh is the shit

  • the guy at 0:58 seems the coolset guy ever

  • Snook in a bit of Purple Haze at 4:42 !

  • @MenaPaws21 he does but i think it's cool

  • @jacksonhilli222 I think its awesome too! Amazing how musicians do that!

  • That's Booker T, Steve Cropper and Donald "Duck" Dunn, but the drummer is Steve Potts, not Willie "Too Big" Hall. Steve Potts has been playing drums for the "MG's" for a while, since at least 2002, and is also the cousin of one othe original MG members, the late Al Jackson, Jr.

  • thank you Joe

  • Wow he is toothless, lol

  • 1 bad ass performance!!!

  • don't need the ladies cryin cause the story's sad

  • My hat's off to LO, Joe ! I didn't think it was possible to get it out like this ! Joe , i remember you from a long time ago ! when io was trying to change my life !

  • This man is a fuckin legend.

  • Hey, the band is all the guys from the Blues Brothers. Steve Cropper. Donald Duck Dunn, and Willie "too big" Hall. Amazing. I grew up watching these guys in the movie. It was a great movie, with a great message for a kid growing poor in the 70's and 80's. I love these guys, and glad to see them performing so well.

  • X\

  • Im amazed that someone so cool didnt self destruct.. How the fuck do you keep an even keel when youve got millions and you know 90% of people are idiots and douchebags? Thats some deep inner strength. I couldnt do it. $20 mil and Id be gone. lol

  • Joe is my best muisc man for singing and gutair

  • check out santa claus with sunglasses nodding his head at 5:38 lol

  • Hell Thats Steve Cropper and Donald Duck Dunn Flanking Joe Walsh on stage! Cool boys. Blues Brothers Band dudes! They rock!

  • He really sounds great here. His voice has aged better than a lot musicians his age.

  • James Gang Played At My Prom....1970

  • I WAS THERE......WOW

  • Why sing that high? Poor throat.

  • @andreboogie Hey, he can handle it, so why not?

  • What type of Ricky is he playing?

  • @cygnus53 It's a Fender Precision.

  • 5 people have sand in their vaginas

  • That's got to be a custom made Rickenbacker. It sounds awesome.

  • nice to meet you sir, never gona see you again say bigh bye

  • what amp is he using at this show? anyone know?

  • I love them all. They are great entertainers. If you don't like a group put a guitar around your neck then try it. You'll find out what it is really like to perform and not some bs comment.

  • OFFS---I"ve been a Joe Walsh fan since the 70's James Gang days and an Eagles fan since the early 70's as well. And a Poco fan, where Timothy B Schmit came from. So just quit the f'in hatin' people. It's music FFS!!

  • BookerT and the MG's for a back-up band! Ain't bad Joe....better than that back-up band he uses.Whats their name,Beagles,Deagles,Regals.........some shit like that.

  • The best thing that happened to the Eagles was Joe Walsh..The worst thing that happened to Joe "Walsh was the Eagles.

  • awesome Joe!!!!!!!!!!!

  • just epic riffin rock on ya 1 ina million joe

  • Joe Walsh RULES Dude !!!!!!

  • Joe Walsh is an excellent show man, right up there with Dio and Ozzy

  • Yes, I like Joe Walsh but the Eagles really bore me!Joe Walsh is very funny and a really under rated guitarist. It is a shame he was so effed up for so long. His brain is mush now.

  • @taariqtaariq You are fucked up, not Joe Walsh.... Think well, my friend....

  • The bassist looks like Bill Clinton :D

  • Maybe little things to criticize here.. Why don't we just celebrate a genius at work!!? Joe Walsh.. close your eyes, open your ears! Amazing..

  • THIS SONG HAS ALWAYS BEEN BAD ASS

  • is that Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn with him?

  • I like his honesty, he was always direct, but I wonder why he doesn't like the song? I guess a lot of performers are afraid to admit their early stuff has become a burden over the years.

John Lennon was never afraid to be honest about old stuff he thought was shite in reflection.

    Good on you Joe.

I wonder if you still aren't allowed to drive?

    :)

  • Joe Walsh is the man! This song has everything, slide guitar, talk box. What more can one say?

  • Drummer is badass!

  • 5 people prefer justin bieber than this

  • GTA IV nostalgia

  • LOVE JOE WALSH.....:)

    KEEP ON ROCKIN!

  • Love the Eagles. Love Joe Walsh.

  • The Eagles are good. Joe Walsh is good. Shut the fuck up.

  • The eagles wouldnt have been anything without Joe Walsh

  • @illbeda EXACTLY. u take away joe & felder & the Eagles got nuttin.

  • @illbeda

...their RIAA diamond-certified album came before him.... o_O

    Nevertheless, Godly musician!!

  • this man is why i play the guitar

  • Awesome Joe - Thank You Sir

  • This was epochal. Steve Cropper -- one of the baddest cats every to torture a Tele -- looks a bit like Tony Soprano here.

  • Great slide guitar player reminds me of Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones)...

  • Joe Walsh, the coolest blues player ever to come outta Kansas

  • DAMN, At least this one is still on you tube, fuck, everything is dis appearing! Ya know?

  • DAMN, at least this one is still on you tube, fuck, everything id dis appearing. Ya know?

  • Yup, but it ain't Joe Walsh.

  • @NixHand yer coz they haven't got many fans have they?!

  • is there a reason people hate the Eagles?

  • guy at 0:58 made my day

  • joes so fuckin awesome

  • When the voice box came out 40 (?) years ago, it was said that if you breathe wrong, it could kill you. OK all you guitarist out there, if you use a voice box, is the myth true? can you die from misusing the device?

  • @turnoutjim no I own one and play it all the time, no death involved, only good rocking...

  • @bradstivers thanks for the info....the myth had the makings of an urban legend, but every time I asked people about it, or even googled it there's always a story that some one "knew" someone that died from it or been to a concert when a drunken fan had grabbed the device and had died from misuse of the equipment.

  • 0:59 Glad to see John Goodman is enjoying himself.

  • Joe plays with the Blues Brothers? I think it's Steve Cropper on guitar and Donald Dunn on bass.

  • great voice and even greater talent ro play the guitar!!! He would be in such a "Guitar Gods' Academy" if there was one...

  • At 3:57, Joe proves that he is, in fact, so awesome that he can play a duet with himself.

  • One of my favorite classic rock tunes!

  • rodies need to keep off the stage

  • That was FN sick!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice thanks the upload

  • He is so funny. So talented. So Cool!

  • nice rick

  • When I lived in Ft.Lauderdale in the 70's there was an ADULT theatre called ADAM&EVE there at Gateway where NATHANS is and where Sunrise & Federal Hwy cross. Every FRI evening a young stripper named ROXANNE would dance on stage this song. The ADAM&EVE ADULT THEATRE would be packed. Little Blonde built terrific.

  • it's been a long day and I hate the fucking Eagles man!

But I bet even the dude loves Joe Walsh ;)

  • @TaffyRaphie Somewhere the dude is taking time out for a cocktail on this one!

  • @barberryman looks like Walter's having a good time at 0:57 too, haha!

  • @TaffyRaphie

...get the hell out of my cab...

  • @TaffyRaphie The dude abides, man

  • @MIXERPILOT1 haha, and Walter Sobchak at 0:58

    man...

  • 2004 - was the best Crossroads festival.

  • Love Joe Walsh. The Eagles not so much.

  • @shuntsmontana i totally agree.

  • @shuntsmontana You said it!!!!

  • Couldn't get much higher.

  • He liked that Ricky for his slide work. He now endorses Carvin Guitars and amps

  • Man.... Joe packed the house with Booker T and the MG's, wish I was there.

  • JOE is the person who rocked the band EAGLES ............

  • Damn good job! Am I fourteen again? Sure feels like it!

  • Is that Duck Dunn on Bass and Steve Cropper on guitar?

  • @fireblossom2u yep! they were the house band!

  • @fireblossom2u SURE IS,,FANTASTIC HUH?

  • @fireblossom2u Yep, Steve Cropper.

  • crazy fav song

  • Pratique le roadie pour le changement de guitare, quand on aime on ne compte pas ;-)

  • love him....lovee him!

  • Fuckin Love this dude!!!

  • Always loved this song....brings back memories of youth...and majik mushrooms!

  • Anyone else think he acts totally buzzed lol.

  • I think this was intentional:

You got Joe Walsh dressed up as a fluorescent tie-dyed clown doing the intro and dissing his own song. Then you got Joe Walsh playing a flat black guitar- a deadly serious instrument-with total mastery.

So he's saying the music is the thing; have fun and all, but the music is the thing.

  • I liked his nod to Hendrix at the end of his talkbox solo

  • What a legend.

  • Joe is fucking awesome!

  • booker t and the mgs as a backup band. guess they can handle it

  • steve cropper & duck dunn! lol

  • steve cropper on rhythm for rocky mountain way. LOL

  • Joe Walsh is a very creative, colorful, artistic, brilliant man. Do your homework. Do not judge by this performance alone or take me at my word. I have done the research. I have read about severe adversity that he has survived. Even for those who do not care for him or his work, it is important to look at him from an objective standpoint. @tampamike: He has favored that Rickenbacker for use during the live performance of this tune for many years.

  • <3333

  • kent ohio dude, used to play at local clubs around akron when i was in high school. they served 3.2% alk to 18 + those days. Who knew where he would wind up.

  • It just occurred to me that Joe Walsh looks like an older look alike of Spicoli on the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High :).

  • what amp is he using?

  • @faidwnasmwr

A bunch of Crate VFX5212's. Those made in the USA St. Louis Music V50's have a real nice clean channel.

  • @heystarfish100

I own one and love the thing!! Wouldn't trade it for anything but a Carvin Belair or a Fender Twin, and still maybe no....

  • You know the words better than me...

  • How can he sing and play so amazingly well after so many years? This guy is not from this planet.

  • BEST WEEKEND OF MY LIFE!

  • is this song in drop D, never knew if it was

  • @Nightwing690 Open E tuning, believe it or not. There's a lot of notes in the slide guitar solos (especially in the original) that depend on the guitar being in open E

  • Another great song by Joe.

  • thank you master...

  • ya think we can get any more audio compression on this? jesus...

  • Thank God my son was born before 1985, is married to a hot beautiful woman, and still likes listening to real man's music like this song and millions of others songs by groups and singers in the cool age of music. Not the fruity stuff out the last 10 years.

  • @BBQFanNo1 I was born in 1988, and I could care less about most of the music these days. 60s, 70, and 80s mostly fill up my both of my iPod touch's.

  • @epicuniversal You were raised right!

  • @CFMD28 Thank you.

  • God Bless Joe Walsh. I hope this guy is alive many more years because music is heading towards it's Armeggedon if not already with the real players, singers and groups dying.

  • is he like half waisted lawl!

  • The MG's right frigging on!

  • STILL ROCKS ON!!!!!!!!

  • Top Man! Top Guitarist !

  • @BBQFanNo1 First off i am not your typical 16 year old, second i do agree on the fact that good music hasent been on the pop charts in over 20 years, third real "MEN" don't go on you tube to pick on kids and brag about thier son, and as far as music i like i don't listen to any of that new aoto tune bullshit as far as i am concerned the only good band to come out in the last 20 years is GOV"T MULE, so before you making acusations about people you don't know THINK. for good music watch my vidios.

  • @sebastiansteele1994 I think you've already seen the light Sebastian, Hallelujah!

  • I loved Joe Walsh when Weird Al replaced Drew in their bar band "You didn't tell me you played the accordion, man"

  • aktually the talkbox was inventedd for this song!!

  • I never realised what a great slide player he is. Fantastic tone.

  • Love Joe Walsh! But could the keyboard player be anymore lifeless? lol

  • he is he ha! he ha!! was he too young to be on the HE Haa SHOW?

  • I love joe walshe's fuzzy but mildley distorted tone. Its perfect.

  • That snare is cutting cool!!! Great drumming!

  • Can someone please tell me the name/brand/model of joe's black Guitar please???

  • @nathanlikesstuff its a Rickenbacker 230GF built for Glen Frey apparently--custom, dont see it on their web page

  • @nathanlikesstuff The "Make / Brand" is Rickenbacher. A quick search of their "Home" web site will certainly allow you to acertain the model. good

luck. And remember. It's NOT the Guitar that "Makes" the player.

  • @ancientastronomer the last part is mostly true. there are guitars that are easier to play though. like if the strings are closer to the frets so its easier to get a note to ring. but you need to have all the skill to play anyway.

  • life's been good to him so far.

  • hahah did anyone else catch purple haze? haha

  • lmao!!! purple haze!!

  • Joe Walsh and Half of the Blue's Brothers Band!!! Magic! ;0)

  • Joe Walsh is Cool.
