If you want a toy helicopter its cool but if you want to be able to control it in all directions you will want a 4 channel rc heli from a hobby store they are more expensive but if you want to learn to fly they are the best way to go........

this heli isn't good for people who want a good and controllable helicopter, as it can just go up/ down and rotate, you need a heli that can be controlled forwards/backwards and from side to side. might be a bit hard to control, but waaaay better than this.

i have a RC Car it's fun but it only last maybe 2-6 hours before it wears out the battery though it's fun except for the part where i accidentally drove it down the stairs and it fell down but it was okay anyway.

If you get one of these make it nose heavy. Otherwise this helicopter is "flyable" but not controllable. A controlled RC Helicopter needs to be at least 4 channels to fly under control. Pitch, Yaw, Roll, and Throttle. This Helicopter only has 2, Throttle, and Yaw.

a 4 channel goes up down spin left right and swift left right. a six channel does all that and fly upside down

6 channel go upside down. 4 channel don't. GET THE 4 CHANNEL! it will save you hours of repairs. i recommend a co axial. i fly a helimax axe ez. got it to hover on first battery charge, and im 12.

I have a NiCd battery for my RC Corvette C6R. I agree with you, carfreak23041. Those batteries don't take long to wear out and take several hours to charge.

Yeahh like i had this cheap Niko Honda civic, but its sooo fast, but i used it so much the battery life is pathetic. You have to use up all of the battery and charge the exact time or it wears down.

I agree with you guys also, but maybe LiPo isnt such a good idea either in a training heli thats likely to be crashed a lot? Maybe something like NiMh would be better than NiCd but not as volatile as LiPo

I had some rechargeable NiMh batteries for my xmod from radioshack, but it seems their battery life wore down. Do they have to be charged at their exact time or the life will wear down?

Im not 100% what you mean but some very cheap chargers can overcharge them yes if thats what you mean, if you overcharge you will damage them for sure, they can take quite a lot of abuse though and be charged very quick depending on the battery. I would invest in a charger like the triton which will take all the guess work out and stop when charged, it can also cycle batterys to see if they hold a full charge and format them. Just set the cells put on auto and let it do the work! hope this helps

I dont really know without seeing the charger or knowing model, i know that cheaper models can actually come with NiMh and a charger that dosn't cut off or revert to trickle when batteries are full, really stupid if you ask me. I just got me a HoneyBee FP that came with a charger, a very basic charger but it balances the LiPo cells and cuts off when it should so sometimes you get a good one sometimes you dont, you should really check the charger to make sure just in case.

Another thing to note is you cant use a NiCd only charger to charge NiMh as the Delta Peak detection they normally use to work out when its full and wont cut it off. You wasnt using the NiCd charger for the NiMh were you?

This helicopter is not a 4 channel helicopter it is a 2 channel.

a 4 channel helicopter go's up/down that's 1 channel then foward/reverse that's the 2nd channel then the rudder control 360 around that's the 3rd channel and the fourth channel is side to side.

Hey stupid.. Ailerons, elevators, etc are airplane components idiot. Helicopters have Fore / Aft Swashplates for forward and backwards.

Let not even mention that your description of airplane functions are wrong... Elevator controls Ascend / Descend and Ailerons control Roll, NOT turning.. Rudder controls turning in conjunction with ailerons. So, the only numnutz I see here is your sorry excuse for a human being.

The heli channels are actually called elevator, aileron, rudder etc. So you are actually wrong. And, that means that he was right about what the different channels do. aileron on a heli, makes it go left or right,and elevator is foreward/backward.

I agree! this is two channel helicopter. The reason that it is way too stable is that it has contra-rotatory design with no swash-plate. So one can't go too far with this fucking design.
