  • 3:07 to 3:40 =P

Taka vs... who's the other guitarist ? I think Taka is the winner ^^

  • @blackludo72 c'mon man, guitar/music is not a competition in any matter; It's Art.

    Leave the competition to sports.

That was Kentaro and he's a great guitarist as well check his stuff out man. :)

  • I love his level of precision.

  • The chicken picking part that starts at 2:38 as absolutely mind-blowing!

  • T.Ohmura + Kentaro

  • Shred Orgasm!!!!

  • it sounds like the Impellitteri's 17th century chicken pickin'

  • the intro sounds soo much like Galneryus, lol.

  • He's so good. I love his technique and cleanliness of execution

  • EXCELENTE! - MENOSPRECIADO!

  • ohmura should put the words "canon rock" in all his video titles, then he would get 14,453,234 views like that matt rach noob

  • tough crowd.. probably just too amazed on his guitar skills haha!

  • tough crowd..

  • What event is this? Why is Kentaro playing with him now? He was playing with Syu in another song

  • @bilibalala

Kentaro is part of the house band, I'm pretty sure.

  • @Reoreyh Whats the house band?

  • @bilibalala

The band that's part of the event/studio that plays with every set. In this case, they learn and play with Syu and Takayoshi Ohmura, and others I am sure.

  • IMPRESSIVE!

  • lol wow is that Kentaro? cooool

  • if you're all wondering why there is no applaud at the end it is because everyone shat themselves and had no energy left

  • he looks like mab in his hair!!

  • why does everybody who's good at guitar have to look like an emo chick on their period?

  • @socialmoose he plays soo good that you should look past his looks..... but i take your point :S

  • Can I just point out that this is eargasmic?

  • 1+ icyfire011

  • Talk about your spastic editing.

  • @esrb12389 i stand by my statement he looks like a flat 15 year old school girl who plesures herself with a toothbrush

  • wow!

  • jesus christ cameraman r u filming HIS incredible guitar work or showing off UR skill with video???

  • I hate creative filming!

  • haha another jealous loser

  • i tried to learn this song..... its inhuman and he does it perfectly!!

  • woh woh woh, easy there camera guy! You don't have to switch shots in tempo with the solo. You're allowed to shoot from one angle you know.

  • haha don't move crowd.

    it's gentaro was there?

  • I really wanna comment on this video but I'm dead from the awesomeness of shred!

  • holy SHIT he's a speedy one

  • whats with the cowboy at 2:32 ?

  • He's the in house bassist. Look up Syu's live performance of Doukoku, and he's there too. Same with Kentaro, the plaid wearing V playing dude.

  • @LinkFreak24 Dude, its Japan, A fucking purple octopus on the middle of the stage would be normal.

  • back when Paul Gilbert was younger he was untouchable, he has lost some of his skill as he got older, however i think that Paul Gilbert is a much more creative writer than Ohmura.

  • @acdcislaw

i dont know what you're saying but paul gilbert lately has been playing his old racer x stuff to tempo, he's just more into phrasing than shred now. but word everyone is different i respect both gilbert and ohmura

  • @acdcislaw Yeah, I have to agree with Nivlaxia on that one. Paul still does all his old racer x stufff. And if anything....he's cleaner and more metered now.

  • that 2.37 2.50 is just perfect.

does anyone know where i can get some guitar books? same style as Takayoshi Ohmura, Syu, Gentaro etc

  • @mattwildchild

Look up Hellman on youtube. He uses a few good gt-guitar books. One of his biggest video's is taken from a book. As is a few others. I can't remember the name of them right now. They come with backtracks and such.

But starting on the books Hellman has shown will get you playing like Syu, Takayoshi, ect..

  • thank you !

  • Comment removed

  • he has a great sense of timing

  • Jesus camera switches angles every .5 seconds.

  • lol, l love takayoshi this guy is wicked stuff.

  • 2:38 is still my favorite. /drool

  • new bloods?new bloods are nothink syu or somethinnk like that. But takayoshi is different he wont be in g3 but he really deserves it

  • he got any albums out?

  • eclipse from the east

  • Takayoshi is an excellent guitarist! Great vid.

  • excelent shred!

  • why does EVERY NEW SHREDDER have to live under the shadow of the old fogies like Malmsteen and Gilbert? (not ripping on those guys). young bloods like ohmura and syu have developed a musical taste that clearly defines them from their predecessors... i think it's a bit unfair to always be comparing shredders... there isn't an empirical method or litmus test in music... i'll bet you a million dollars there are licks that ohmura can play that gilbert or malmsteen can't and vice versa.

  • O.M.M. you speak complete sense!

  • dude seriously I think ohmura totally owns paul and malmsteen. they play alot of repetitive stuff but this guy is amazing.

  • I woudn't say he's better than Paul but malmsteen is just shred and pentatonic stuff these days, he's lost all molody

  • Paul is literally the best guitarist alive at the moment. You can not name me a good shredder that does not look up to him.

I'm pretty sure Ohmura will be the best when he is fourty something as well, but there's a good chance someone else will come along by then.

  • i agree w u mann!

  • without them he wouldnt exist

  • also, I would say this guy is better than todays malmsteen, but when you see malmsteen when he was younger and in his prime, no one could touch him.

  • Paul Gilbert is STILL pretty good, but Ohmura has got speed.

  • @icyfire011 It was really tragic how Malmsteen damaged his hands, at least he had the courage to get up and play again. He's progressively getting better again.

But Takayoshi Ohmura is so beast at guitar, way cleaner than most shredders and a master at scalloped frets. If you compare other people who use scalloped frets they don't use it as well as him. Like Karl Sanders or Joe Stump are blown out of the water by Takayoshi.

  • @OnlyModeratelyMad

Well, Malmsteen forged this style of neo-classical rock. It's before Malmsteen

and after Malmsteen the Guitar Rock Scene; even if you like it or not. Period.

  • @heryblax malmsteen don't forget ritchie blackmore and randy rhoads, they were huge contributors, too

  • @OnlyModeratelyMad i dont think theres any licks malmsteen or ohmura cant play~ but yea sum things they wouldnt ever think of doing in a song how the other one does

  • @OnlyModeratelyMad You are also forgetting that when you do get to this level of playing.. There are no licks you just can't do. Just how much time you spend practicing it.

  • gilbert can play any lick cause hes is not human!!!

  • @OnlyModeratelyMad

    >Gilbert

    >Old Fogie

    WAT

  • @OnlyModeratelyMad No its Impelliterri influence a lot

  • @OnlyModeratelyMad Cause nowadays there are no more NEW shredders, they are just guitar players who play like... There's no guitar innovation.

In that case, Takayoshi is a mix between Yngwie and Impelliterri.

I have to say that 3:44 is amazing btw :)

  • @WhiteDeath Bull, there is always room for innovation. Whether it's intonation or rhythmic syncopations or whatever there is loads of stuff

  • @OnlyModeratelyMad Because malmsteen, gilbert, lane, becker etc are awesome and music legend!

  • @Leecander and these guys are the future legends. when the real malmsteens and gilberts finally pass, it'll probably be your kids or grandkids who'll be talking about the ohmuras, the syus, and all those other young rippers everywhere. of course the pioneers will be remembered, but in due time those who carry on the baton of guitar-oriented music will continue their legacies.

  • @OnlyModeratelyMad You're absolutely right, but I don't think that Paul Gilbert or Malmsteen are not able to play like Ohmura. At this level of skills it's more a matter of tastes, I think.

  • @OnlyModeratelyMad I absolutely agree with you. I have nothing against Malmsteen and Gilbert, but it's so damn annoying when people keep comparing them, or even going as far as saying these young shredders are copying them.

  • @OnlyModeratelyMad malmsteen IS A SUCKER! dont compare him to the god gilbert... mamlsteen cant play distortion like its supposed to be played, he plays all dirty, even i play better than him! paul in the contrary is very good with it and plays pretty clean!

    GALNERYUS FTW!

  • @TheDeepBullet Do u really believe Malmsteen plays sloppy?Clean up your ears.Malmsteen doesn't use much distortion on purpose and that's why he created the best guitar sound ever."You play better than Malmsteen"!!!! you worth less than Malmsteen's pinky pathetic kid.

  • @MrEllinaras whats wrong malmsteen fan? you like that fat ass? PFFF hes just some loser, best solo? PFFF whats next? slash is the best guitar player? you kid dont know anything. ive been playing guitar for the last 15 years and ive been listening to everyhting, your gonna tell me that fat guy is the best? LOL

  • @TheDeepBullet Malmsteen proves his skills at stage. The young Malmsteen's live performances are the proof of YJM's mastery level. You may call him arrogant or whatever and u will be right. But you call yourself a guitarist and you say that malmsteen plays sloppy?Have you noticed that ohmura uses a copy of malmsteen's guitar but an esp version and that he uses many of Malmsteen licks?IF YOU RESPECT OHMURA WHO RESPECTS MALMSTEEN YOU MUST DO THE SAME OR SHUT YOUR MOUTH

  • @TheDeepBullet How can u say he plays sloppy?

  • 3:31 i love this kind of groove XD

  • that's the most annoying filming i have ever seen! awesome performance

  • Anyone, where can I get the DVD of this? I think this guy is awesome.

  • He has his own style, sense of free play and a passion for music. You should create your own style anyway and not trying to be another guitarist. This guitarist improvises to. Live version is always better when he plays.

  • kentaro is great in this I don't see why people don't like him as much as takayoshi

  • Perfectly Takayoshi!!

  • niiiice xD

  • sounds like yngwie

i love the part from 2:38

  • Not so much yngwie imo. Tonally yes, but stylistically, Gilbert.

And 2:38 and on was sorta my least favorite. I love this song though.

  • what you sayin those chops are amazing

  • Yeah, It's incredible! I just think that it was a lot more than he needed to make it sound musically good. Don't get me wrong- I wish I could write like him.

  • sounds like 17th century picking by impelleteri

  • Ohmura is my favorite Japanese guitarist, 2nd is Syu.

  • My favourite too^^

  • =() wow!!!! =() =0=0

  • oh... this is the same lineup of Aushivitz o_O

  • Is syu in this mix??? And Satoshi?

  • hmm Takayoshi or Guthrie Govan

    who winsss

  • technical neoclasiccal super speed versus technical weirdo modes ?

    its not even a comparison.

maybe u should compare this chicks(ups) to joe stump or impeliterri or malmsteen

  • i think comparing two different genres is a good camparison but comparing two different ways of the same genre is the ultimate comparison same with technique. i think malmsteen i the one for me when it comes to classical metal but ohmura is definatelly awesome i think malmsteen is quite far away from ohmura compared to similarities closest to malmsteen is joe stump who is just like a rubbish malmsteen.

  • Ohmura and Govan are the definition of apples and oranges. They both have an entirely different style, and an entirely different message that they want to send across. Of the two, if you asked me who I liked better, I would say I like Guthrie more because his style flows better for me and is clearly unique. That isn't to say that Ohmura is a bad guitarist or that he's just another 'shredder', it just means that out of apples and oranges, I like the taste of oranges more (if you know what I mean)

  • well ilike apples more

  • Definitely. But I gotta say, the whole 'just another shredder' thing is just a way to put down guitarists that are good. It's rare that a good guitarist is trying to be somebody else and doesn't have their own style ya know? Oh it happens, but it just bothers me when people say "THIS GUY IS GOOD BUT HE HAS NO FEELING, YNGWIE IS BETTER." or something.

  • wow, all the people in the audience probably died watching his insane skill if you hear them applaud at the ending ^^

  • fucking ae, that was a performance and a half

  • Takayoshi: あなたは1つの神です

  • 3:18 , Kentaro always does that kind of bendings lol!

  • Outstanding.

  • 中盤まんまimperitelliの17th chickenpicking ぽい

    スウィープ部分はすごいわくわくする

  • Man 2:38 sounds really awesome, but It's a pain trying to lean is he plucking the high e string???!!!^_^

  • with his mid finger :)

  • its not only the high e though but yeah basically that concept i think hes chicken picking ninths of the first note of the part on the lower strings

  • AWESOME SONG BTW

  • No.

  • nigger to a japanese guy wtf?

  • His fingering is so fast that I couldn't follow those moving at all !!!

  • This guy is beast! :D

  • Comment removed

  • That guy on the bass looks like hes going for the some look-alike asian lemmy kilmister haha

  • very nice playin! reminds of impelitteri's aggresive and fast shredding!

  • i thought it was fender....huhu

  • Man, ESP strats have sexy paintjobs!!!^_^

  • Whoever is working the camera angles must be on cocaine.

  • whos that guy with the v, good rythems

  • his name is Kentaro, from the band Gargoyle. they're awesome too!

  • I noticed the bass player & the other guitarists are the same cats from the video of Syu playing Doukoku live. What is the name of this show?

  • its not from a show, its from Young Guitar magazine

  • but it's not played at young guitar... it's played at a show.. -.-

  • cats?? are you from the 40's?

  • lol! Maybe. :p

  • Malmsteen? I think he sounds more like Chris Impellitteri's 17th Century Chicken Picking.

  • copys of malmsteen -.-'''''? just go ask malmsteen to try and play some of the stuff takayoshi plays to see if he can...hahaha...maybe in your dreams, but seriously, he couldn't

  • He's far better than Herman

  • No shit...hell I'm sure me n u are better than HL lol.

  • actually 2009

  • malmsteen doesn;t have much rythym, sorry to say but his playing is more about tricks than anything... damn good guitarist let that be heard but i choose ohmura any day

but i still prefer carl tidemann more

  • this sounds just like highest shred works by him... is it like the same song?

  • the real name of the song is "Pleasant Surprise" and yes, it's the same

  • Happy B DAY Takayoshi!

  • this guys technical skill is amazing he is gonna go places but he needs to do this with a little more variety

  • century chicken pickin bahhhhhhhhhh !!!!!! boring copy!!!

  • i like syu better but hes cool

  • obviously Syu is the God *-*

But he is Awesome Too :D

  • fuck he is young! i had to order his c.d power of reality from japan, it cost heaps but is soo worth it. i can listen to this over and over again!

  • He knows Impellitteri

  • Seems a young Japanese wine-less Malmsteen.

  • kentaro is the other guitarist here.

    from the band gargoyle!!

    pcking is very clean

  • So you rated this beacause penis size?

Last news: You are a fag.

  • or hes jealous that he's a eunuch?

  • Go to hell.

  • incredible!

I hope he makes another instrumental album.
