I just got back form West Branch two weeks ago when we had that nice string of warm weather. Only got a few over 10 inches. I havent been there in years but remembered catching 14 15 inchers was almost common place if you knew the lake and what you were doing. It's worth noting it was early April when I went up to see my buddies. I'm from Cincy and we have some decent white's at a lot of lakes. East Fork is great, so is ice fishing certain ponds and smaller lakes. Good ice this year!
Where in ohio is this? im in fairfield, (butler county) Ive been wanting to get some nice crappie for a long time now. But i dont have a boat. Any suggestions?
We are wade fishing here in Texas with a fly rod and haveing very little success, my friend swears by it and he is upset that we have done this 3 years in a row and I have yet to catch anything, (I did get a bite today but was so shocked I had no time to set the hook) Could you do a vid on this type of crappie jigging?
i gotta question now i been fishin since i was bout two years old and and as long as i can remember all i been usin is road runners with minnows on em and lately it seems like it aint workin very good any tips on what else i can use to catch some bigs ones? thanks

Nice catch and release video i recently had a day like that and didnt keep one of them its so much catchn them and letn them go also a question for you, whats your biggest bass ever caught mines 7lb i caught him off Boo-Yah Spinnerbait
I posted a video response as well so you can see an area where I know crappie exists but continue to elude me...lol. thanks for the reply and asking for some friendly Fishermen backup.
@jurassicsushi I dont live in gorgia but ive been crappie fishin there all my life. In big lakes u dont need crappie lights on a dock to catch em, just fish under any dock that u can find that has a depth of anywhere from 6 to 10 feet with jigs. cast under the dock and let ur jig fall, bounce in off of the bottom a few times then slowly retrieve ur bait and repeat. This is a method of crappie fishing that I have found to be very effective over the years in both lakes and ponds.

hy the hell are these all i ctach when im out there fishing for bass im just using that white synthetic bait so can someone help me out here but the upside to that is i get those crappie there are like twice the size of those.
If I only had $15-30 to spend, what lures or soft baits would you guys suggest for purchase? I'm going for mostly bass and panfish. Anything that can catch multiple species actually. Any help?
Go soon cause where i live the panfish are spawning and they are right by the shore line and they will bite anything, pretty much anything but get worms or poppers
pink or white jig heads, quarter ounce, half-ounce and one bag of white twister tails and one bag af chartruese twister tails. if you wish you can get a small bag of spinners for the ji heads. you shoudl be fine. finding the crappie will be more of a daunting task. i have killed crappie on nightcrawlers, once i found them.
I usually tail hook my minnows because they don't fall off as easy. Then I use a thin wire hook because it makes a smaller hole when you hook the fish and as a result I loose fewer fish. Thanks for watching Luckchamorrita.
Your editing looks as good as the t.v. shows. Im 16, I film and edit my fishing videos too. I use a program called Pinnacle Studio 9, its a few years old. What program do you use to make your movies look like this? Please reply.
Thanks PineconeEater, truth be told this show was set to go to TV but, I like Youtube and online video because of all of the great immediate responses. I have a pro model sony camera, film and edit in HD then I have the best camera crew in the world. A good video starts with good sound and picture quality. Thanks for watching.
i like catching BIG pymatuning and Mosquito lake crappie they average 10in and 13-14in fish isnt too uncommon. And btw, have u wore a short sleeve shirt in any other vids? because i just noticed u have some pretty big arms!!!
you think crappie are fun? well if so you need to invest in a fly rod. I use a nine foot four weight rod. it is different but amazing. Giv it a try and get back to me
Thanks for the comments byan70 its nice to see another crappie fan out there. Good luck on the water and I hope you catch lots of Crappie this spring.
im jealous... i got to work tomorrow but im gonna try my luck in the late afternoon, went last weekend with no luck, hope they start biting around here soon.
I really like those white crappies...they look like ghosts coming out of those muddy waters. I'm waiting for a local spot to turn on. The biggest ones are "usually" caught during their pre-spawn....well at least up here.
Its not always about the number of fish one catches. Sometimes it's about giving thanks for being able to be out there on the water. Every fishing trip is a blessing. I hope you catch tons of fish on your next trip.
well i dont fish just to get out on the water. it's nice being outdoors, but it's nicer to catch fish.... sugar coat it if you like. lol i guess i get to get out more than most ppl
Ok no sugar coating, I'm sad when I dont catch fish however, letting it get to you can make you a worse fisherman. I interviewed bassmaster pro Charlie Hartley last week, he was the pro in first place on the first day of this years Bass Master Classic, the second day in second place and the third day finished in 15th place. What I learned from him is we all have bad days its how we react to those bad days that helps determine our success the next day. Next trip make up for last trip.
Crappie are the fish for the masses. They are plentiful, cooperative and predictable. You will definetly see more crappie fishing shows in the future. Thank you for watching.
Ahh yes, the famous gloves. I spend hours on the water putting shows together. The gloves help protect my hands from being burnt up by the sun. A thin pair of fingerless gloves works wonders for sun protection. Thanks for watching.
You got into a passel' of em' Joe! It will be a while before the floods subside in our neck of the woods; thanks for the inspiration! Crappie are a blast to catch and so very good filleted and pan-fried.
Just like the fishing shows on tv this show was filmed far in advance. This seemed like the perfect time to release it. If you ever make it to Ohio Hoover is the spot for crappie.
Thanks Horseshoebender, Good luck and if you see me on the water remember to say hi. I need some footage of fans that I see on the water to add to my videos.

Try small jerkbaits in open water. Sometimes you have to use the sinking ones. They may not work as well but, its something different.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
