  • did any one die or what???

  • I think its time for another earthquake, one for the history books.

  • If your on a fault line, You don't build lots of bridges and highways. That's why in New Zealand they didn't build a tunnel under cook strait. It just show how America is so dependent on their cars.

  • William Branham, saw in a vision that California sink into the Ocean

  • How in the hell do those tractors look like pterodactyls?

  • Glad to see that a lot of people from foreign countries and douches from outside of SoCal, who CLEARLY have never been here through an earthquake, or through AN earthquake AT ALL, let alone lived here, have such strong opinions. Moreover, that people were hurt and all that you seem to focus on is imagined expertise pumped up by false confidence and ignorance is overwhelming. I don’t post on sites about tornados, giving my opinion. What right do you have to give yours?

  • Earthquake coming up soon between Sept 22nd-28

  • @mokalatte02 didn't happen

  • lol "nuts and more"

  • hopefully this will encourage la residents to walk more like they do in san fran

  • @Django5198 IDIOT, are you and all of the other opinionated, ill informed MORONS commenting on this aware of LA AT ALL? You know what people always say, LA and San Fran are SO similar!!!! Same set up, LA IS a metropolis, where everything is within a mile or two. We are, you are right, just lazy lumps. I mean, who couldn't walk 16- 60 miles a day, oh, and make your appointments??? Fools!!! all of us.

  • @orsetto81utube ok man you're right I'm sorry. It's just that when I was in LA I never saw anyone walking and the roads were packed

  • @Django5198 We usually drive, bc of the distance, but work out like nuts. I do ocean laps and run the stairs (Santa monica) instead. Sorry if I was overly harsh, I just will not support crticism of my city. xoxo

  • 2011 LA has a much more functional urban rail system with service to Koreatown, Hollywood and North Hollywood via the Metro Purple/Red lines, South Central, Compton and Long Beach by the Blue Line, Redondo Beach El Segundo South Central, Hawthorne, Lynwood and Norwalk via the Green Line and East LA Boyle Heights and Pasadena via the Gold Line. The Expo Line will serve USC, parts of South Central and Culver City very soon on its way to Santa Monica Pier in a few years

  • 1994: Metro Blue Line 7/Metro to Long Beach,Metro Red Line Union Station to MacArthur Park(construction ongoing on branches to Western Av and Hollywood/NoHo that would open by the dawn of the millenium) Plus the Green Line in the 105 freeway was nearly complete and open the next year. Also Metrolink operated the San Bernadino, Ventura, Riverside and Santa Clarita Lines at the time of the quake(the latter was extended by the Army Corps of Engineers due to quake to Lancaster)

  • Damn LAs rail network is far better in 2011 than it was in 1994 although the metrorail and metrolink systems already existed back then(they were in their infancy). The antelope valley line i think was extended in an emergency move to aid in moving antelope valley commuters who had no other way to LA and over the next decade became a more permanent fixture of the regional transit system. Still freeways reign and the rail system still underserves many areas

  • dammit dude carmegeddon again dude this is effed up

  • WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT A EARTHQUAKE HERE IN CALIFORNAI VERY STUPID WELL BE PREPARED WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN CUZ YOU NEVER KNOW.

  • Can't believe they dont even have rail!God, that really shows how much LA depends on that one highway.

  • @ljpop95 By 1994, LA had an extensive rail system as a matter of fact. They two light rail lines, a multi-line commuter rail (Metrolink) and a heavy rail subway well underway. It just seems that those anchors were oblivious to them because they didn't meet their expectations.

  • @Coastergeekperson04 oh right, i didn't know that...the subway would help the Rush Hour in LA on those highways..

  • @Coastergeekperson04 I think even today, half the people in LA still don't know there is a rail system.

  • Comment removed

  • @ljpop95 we have more than one now tho

  • 1994 northridge earthquake?

  • I hope we have a really big earthquake soon, or some kind of asteriod hit half of this planet and destroy hollywood or washington D.C. I hate the government, i hate all these brainwashed ppl and i hate everyone. THE END~!

  • @Yoshi181313 i agree.

  • @Yoshi181313

i know i wnt something exciting to happen

  • @Yoshi181313 Please seek counseling.

  • lol earthquake just happened right now in l.a 3.5 smh

  • @smokeydabat. I'm not a religious person, and I'm not hating on religion, but I just wanted to let you know, from an average human beings point of view, that's pretty openminded and smart.. There are many different types of people out there. Wether they be religious, gay, straight, rich or poor, there is always that 10% of that group of people that make everyone else look so bad! I believe you are in a much smaller percentage..

  • All these 11's. 3-11 LA earthquake, 5-11 osama killed, 9-11 twin towers. Whats gonna happen on 11-11-11 this year????

  • Los Angeles is hilly because of all the earthquake faults it happens there is no way to make a bridge or home that wont fall because of all the types of faults and shaking I live in the San Fernando Valley and were used to it, for a city with millions of people and earthquakes every 20 years were doing good. AND ITS NOT GODS WRATH its just nature and a living active planet

  • when was this

  • gods pissed hes shaking your sinful city he don't want these cities rebuilt once destroyed i noticed it happens in cities that are rich in pride keep pissing god off satan built these cities built on greed too

  • @smokeydabat Let me guess, you're apart of the Westboro Baptist Church?

  • @smokeydabat Ok, either you're possessed by Jesus or an angel, you're going to Hell for using God name in vain.

  • @smokeydabat lol, you're a cunt.

  • @IntertubeTr0ll I think thats a compliment.

  • screw everyone who wants thumbs up.

  • why is everyone in the video from europe but in los angeles

  • from me (profile) ...

  • @RoleyRoley1

He's actually now the International Editror for ITN in London. And actually worked for BBC Ulster, too at one bit.

  • what?? i thought ther would of been train services in california, it creates jobs & income from the government

  • I was only 6 years old. But I remember every moment of it. Fucking freaky!

  • I'M STILL WAITING FOR THE BIG ONE SINCE 1995... AND WHEN IT HAPPENS ALL THE VIOLENT SHIT HEADS WILL LEAVE AND STARVE, AND THE RICH ON THE COAST WILL BE WASHED OUT.

IT WILL HAPPEN. YOU LIVE LIKE A PROUD SNOB ON THE COAST, YOU WILL GET WET. AND IF YOUR A THUG WITH A EGO AND NO BANK ACCOUNT, WELL YOUR NEXT STOP IS HELL WITH YOUR HOMMIES!

THERE'S A SHORTAGE OF EVERYTHING AND CA IS BANKRUPTED. GOOD YOU SPOILED HATING FUCKERS!

  • @RManBB2010 Whatever, if you don't believe me walk down a street in Downtown LA, you will first be mugged, beat up, raped, shot, beat up more by cops and get lung cancer from all the pollution.

  • Japan was first, the second will be.... Time will tell.

  • @pivotkid85 la is earthquake country. We may not have tornadoes and hurricanes, but we live on the San Andreas fault, so yea, we get more than just 1 little earthquake(or 1 big one)

  • @KNGarver don't be talking shit about LA, it's not even that bad. Culver city, which is inside Los Angeles county, is one of the safest cities in the US. So shut up, u don't know wat ur talking about.

  • LA is the worst city in the world, dirty as Mexico City, dangerous as Baghdad and Cario combined, crime infested like Chicago, Fairbanks, and New York City combined.

  • @KNGarver Exaggerate much? What a pathetic drama queen.

  • i thought the only earthquake that happened in l.a was the one in the 2012 film

  • Thumbs up if you searched japan earthquake ,but watched this..

  • @rudis323 I feel bad for Japanese people, but, trust me others are people too and I do care of other people as well. no offense, but you make me sick already! No , I an not watching this because of what happened in Japan. I am watching this because of what happened in LA!

  • @rudis323 That was 40 years ago, and the epicenter was nearly right under the pass where the bridges fell. The new bridges survived the Northridge quake the epicenter of which was close by.

  • If we had an extensive underground rail system, that would be damaged too.

  • WARN SAN FRANCISCO – PLEASE

Recently I dream a realistic nightmare concerning destruction of SF. I see a field of ruins, horrible screams of the people and flames. – Pure pain and human howling ! - FLEE THE CONDEMNED CITY – PLEASE.

I had mediumship and parapsychology experiences in my life,

so I feel obliged to tell all about the visions.

  • @GoldenAurelius lol maybe you're right, I hope not, because about 20 days before the earthquake in Chile a guy in popular Chilean forum predicted the earthquake and nobody beleived him

be prepared and hope for the best

  • @GoldenAurelius I remember 2 days before the japan earthquake I had a dream of an earthquake. I also had a feeling that there was gonna be an earthquake on Easter Sunday of 2010. Its weird how we dream and think about earthquakes before they hit. I've had many dreams and feelings before it happens.

  • @GoldenAurelius OH THE HUMANITY! NOT A DREAM!! surely everyone must flee the entire bay area because you had a dream of a ruined frisco!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!

similarly, i had a dream that the stay puft marshmallow man from ghostbusters attacked new york... AGAIN! sure he was much nicer this time around but you can imagine how chaotically clumsy he was given his size. he also had bad flatulence which, although not his fault, caused great discomfort to very many people..

    WARN NEW YORK - PLEASE

  • we need another earthquake so we the construction workers get to work

  • @MrFranksinatra9000 Everything is a mixed blessing I suppose.

  • I'd laugh if the news reporter fell LOL

  • this was 1994...!!!

  • Coming to Alaska soon

  • What year was this?

  • Find out when next earthquake may take place:

    WORLD-EARTHQUAKES . COM

  • we just had a 6.9 in Chile, and it's not acceptable that a freeway fall with a under 7.5 earthquake... we had a 8.8 earthquake last year and the onfly ones that fell was the most old bridges on the whole motorway system, California needs to have a higher standar in anti-earthquake construction

  • @felolinux remember, this was 1994, and los angeles has hundreds of miles of freeways, i'm surprised more bridges didn't collapse. also, they really updated the building codes so the freeways wont collapse again. but who knows, mother nature always finds a way to get the upper hand, i mean japan has really advanced construction right? look what happened in 1995, their freeway that collapsed was supposed to withstand an 8.1, but a 6.8 took it down cause the ground acceleration was immense

  • @felolinux if you saw the date of the video you would notice it was four years ago and we have made alot of changes to our retrofitting of our bridges and freeways since then. It also depends on the type of earth quake. and how the waves hit.

  • @felolinux you are right, especially when it's an epicenter of earthquakes. but us government would rather spent their money in Iraq and Afghanistan doing god know what!

  • @felolinux were your bridges that long?

  • @dereileak near my city there is one that is almost half a mile long and about 70 meters high and it had no problems at all

  • @felolinux Actually, we do, but you fail to take into account the depth of the earthquake, the type of shaking, and the type of faultline the earthquake happened on and what type of ground the epicenter is situated on. All of those play a part in the severity of the damage done. Out of all the freeway overpasses we have (one every mile or so) only FOUR overpasses fell...NOT freeways. Please don't make ignorant statements if you don't know the full details.

  • @felolinux we do but we have no money. caltrans wont do shit without money. those jerks

  • @felolinux I agree! I mean, I am not sure if Chile is a developing country anymore because it is in fact quite advanced, but compared to USA it is still poorer financially, yet your infrastructure is better. This is a huge shame for USA, as the richest country in the world, to have a less developed infrastructure than an emerging south american country! Los Angeles is a world city also, a center of global commerce and culture and it has a third world transportation system!!!

  • @felolinux This was back in the 90's when they still didn't have much knowledge of "anit-earthquake" engineering, not to mention when the freeways were built. Probably in the 50's or longer. Now i assure you that if a 11.0 hit, those freeways will not crack.

  • @felolinux Coming from someone who lives in a 2nd world country with a FAR lower FREQUENCY of earthquakes and far fewer 'big ones' than we, I can only take your rant as that of a misinformed and uppity, outsider. CHECK your FACTS. When Chile next gets an earthquake of any kind, I will be sure to comment on your inability to take care of your own and ask for our aide and money. You are a moron, and insensitive- usually when I see a disaster I don’t use it as a xenophobic platform. Douche.

  • @orsetto81utube if you think that I'm a douche... well it's ok that's what you think, by the way we had a 5.5 a week ago ant this week the 6th region had a 6.2, and if you see any xenophobic message from me... you need some help, I just said "California needs to have a higher standar in anti-earthquake construction" if that's not true, sorry, but we all need to be prepared, and California wasn't ready

  • Repent, Pray! God Bless you.

  • @anthony8151 It was 6.7 but only 10 miles deep, which isn't counted on the Richter scare. So, actually it was much, much stronger than a 6.7.

  • Check on:

    WORLD-EARTHQUAKES . COM

  • In photos of motor home and semi, I was in the motor home by myself driving to Arizona when it hit at 4:31am the earthquake was running from in back of me, it felt like you take a blanket, hold it at each end and toss you in the air, it went up then bounced back left to front right before it righted itself, I thought it was going to roll over, photo only shows after it was moved to the sturdy supports, initially was at the other end & highway gone right in front of us, I was about 25' from end.

  • No rail system? Um.... METROLINK?

  • @AmcalAJ (ref: Northridge Earthquake) No Metrolink then.

  • when was this?

  • @whatisitfuckface27

1994. Am I the only one who thinks Bill Neely is the greatest UK reporter ever?

  • We should be making Skyways by now.

21 century and we are still driving gas guzzling primative road vehicles. LOL

    JOKES!!

  • @hipstarchild hahahaha you should create one then

  • @hipstarchild that's okay one day you will learn what the fuck reality is

    hopefully

  • its irish

  • no offence, but that isn't a scottish accent.

  • there is a rail system you idiot!

  • How long time did it take to rebuild this way?

  • I really want to be interested in this video, but all I hear is "Scottish accent, Scottish accent, Scottish accent.

  • @Goth3m3 and whats so uninteresting about scottish accents?

  • I didnt need love looking like diamonds

  • I pass out when this happen !

  • No rail system in LA but you have it in San Diego? Hmm, that's California for ya

  • I think California has the most Earthquake happening

  • @BiAndProud715 na really.

  • @0032170 shut up

  • @BiAndProud715 just saying

  • @0032170 just kidding i am just frustrated with my science projecto and it is with earthquakes

  • @BiAndProud715 ok then need help

  • @0032170 Nooo I AM DONE WITH IT oops srry I tihnk I am going to win this one at the science fair cause I doing tornadoes and eathquakes and it has alot of info

  • @BiAndProud715 alright then hope u do win what grade r u in?

  • @0032170 6th

  • @BiAndProud715 me to in ponce de leon middle school

  • @0032170 cool

  • when was that?

  • holy shit!

  • how long was the road closed?

  • If this happened in Florida, it would take 10 years to rebuild....

  • @oOomohamedoOo Oh just screw off.

  • there was one in Chile

  • Why do they have some brit doing the news in of all places LA. To bad this quake did'nt get the gang infected areas and swallow up the miscreants.

  • i think its fake

  • how about 7.1 in New Zealand this year lol

  • @rUSKOo1 how about 8.8 in Chile this year lol

  • holy shit 0:45 it was cut so perfectly

  • @clevelandsmith65 Oh wow... lol

  • The Irish reporter is cute and appears to be a homosexual!

    Are there any nude photos?

  • wow!!! this is just like 2012 in the first earthquake scene!

  • when did this happen????

  • @littold January 1994.

  • sorry about this one...that waitress just really got under my skin.

  • dam

  • Man I'd forgotten what it looked like. My sister and brother-in-law lived only a few exits down from where one of the freeways collapsed. Of all the earthquakes I've experienced this was the most unsettling.

  • when was this ?

  • @nerdflanders8710 Jan 17, 1994

  • @bcbeccasbored oh that was the day I was tapping your mama

  • @nerdflanders8710

What is your issue? 8710 huh i guess thats when you were born 8/7/10 i cant blame you for being immature your only what 2 months old now.

    Gees man grow up!

  • @bcbeccasbored hahahah your mamas so fat I burnt my ass on the light bulb when i was banging her.

  • @nerdflanders8710 dickhead.

  • thats LA only medium earth quick

  • This was the biggest earthquake i ever felt i heard it coming a big rumble as if a 18 wheeler would rumble and then a non stop of shaking i could not walk down the stairs easily It was about 4:30 in th morning still dark and all you heard was explosions and car alarms followed by non stop after shocks i lived in panorama city about 5 miles from northridge epacenter! i was 11 years old!

  • @YOURPENGUY sorry i dont understand!

  • @hendogg304 Google Translate. Tesla made earthquakes you fuck.

  • @hendogg304 I think all of us who lived through that would never forget that night. I was also 10 years old living in woodland hills when the 94 hit. I was thrown off my bed and my TV fell down 5 inches from my head and I was trapped in my room. My dad cut up his legs pretty bad trying to get us out. i remember when the aftershock hit like 30 sec later ... that felt bigger than the first one and we just barely made it running out of the house. We slept on the streets for 3 days.

  • @hendogg304 SOUNDS EXCITING!!! mannn its earthquake weather here in la again and i cant wait for an earthquake!!!

  • @thecastman97 it sounds like fun but r u ready?because theres no warning and it can catch you when u might be in a underground parking lot or a store and you can get crushed or how about your love ones might get hurt its really not that fun.but i can say we are overdue!!!

  • @hendogg304 if i saw shit was getting serious with an earthquake i would either A run out into a wide open area B hide under something hard like a desk or C hold a doorway.. wen you live in LA they teach you this stuff.. the whole fun of it is it catching you off guard :))

  • This was Feb. 9 1971, it was centered in Sylmar hit at 6:45a i remember it well 6.5 as i recall near san fernando

  • i saw this in my reccomended videos...the reason was because of some skate video...wtf?

  • @skatermansam lol

  • 1989 was the year. America has a education system? Oh right the propaganda machine.

  • 2:03 nice shades grandma XD!

  • was this in 94? what year was this?

  • @emailmemrstara Monday January 17, 1994 during MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY WHICH THE QUAKE STRUCK US. It was 6.8 and last last than 40 seconds.

  • This was the '71 Sylmar quake?

  • I grew up in Southern California and earthquakes always excited me as a child. I now have lived in Las Vegas NV for over 15 years and we don't ever have earthquakes that matter. Then again, we don't have any rain or really cold weather lately either.

  • Dona Dower on KNX at the front of the report. Nice!

  • kill the civil engineer!!!

  • Chuck norris hates these kind of roads so he burped....

  • Dont blame anything! It's part of life...Its natural! That's why they call natural disasters! You just can expect life not to have thing's like this!! Just forget about it you can't do anything just die or be lucky to survive...:)

  • What year did this happen???!

  • Besides happening so early in the morning.....it happened on Martin Luther King's birthday so there wouldnt have been massive commuting that day anyways. Most of southern Calif had the day off from work. Luckily, that is why there weren't massive casualties. The final measure was 6.7

  • Why would they even build these eleveated craps in Los Angeles?

I would rather be stuck in traffic every day then die a horrible death on one of these shits

And it looks like there IS SPACE to expand the roads on the GROUND

    Sick bastards....

  • @Drazhenko

    What can I say

I wish everybody was smart as you Drazhenko...but sadly they are not

  • @Drazhenko They could but they would have to reroute the train tracks. While I was stuck in the 4 hour crawl home I would look at all of the possible routs that would keep every thing close to the ground and that is what I came up with. The next quake that hits that area will bring the same bridges down again guaranteed. A 5.0 aftershock hit while I was stuck in traffic trying to get through the mess and the ground was undulating up and down in 8' waves. So where the pylons.

  • @Drazhenko - haha. you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
