Sounds pretty crazy to me! You be killing people on the machinations and good judgment of Georgewad, and he don't give a crap for you dudes. You got you buddies, you got your bullets, MREs, IEDs. i feel sorry you all got sucked in.
The quite often shown G36 family, to me and other soldiers, is just as bad as the M4 or M16.
The gas system is definately more realiable, but the plastic corpus itself makes it very unstable.
Once dropped onto the ground, even if not intended, it surely provides you with another aiming point :( or even worse, the structre may be damaged. Additionally, you should not use it as a batton or try to push people away with it ;)
The only weapon I would rely on is the MP 7. Small but effective
It still doesn't change the facts the A) the design is nearing fifty years old and B) the .223/5.56 round is ineffective. The round is unsuited for combat; it fails at bringing down enemy forces and penetrating cover. You bring up the AK; that design is in fact older, but it is reliable. It was designed to be reliable in its operation and in its ability to kill. The same cannot be said for the M-16.
We ought to be issuing the M1A rifles as standard weapons (I think the special forces use them; basically, it's a revamped M-14 rifle made my Springfield Armory).
ak-74 IS fucking awesome bets rifle ever :)

What about the 416? Why was it dropped- Socom wanted it... .
Has anyone adequate info?
The US Armed forces are not the only ones facing problems with big and samll weapon systems delivered by a mighty industry.
The German Bundeswehr is far from beeing well equipped
The personal gear is total bullsh*t=>
even in SpecF units they buy their own stuff... . Cars and trucks are crab, tanks and APC are a mixture from the 70's, 80's, and 90's.
Don't belive what you see on TV. They only show the best

The M4 and M16 stink. The round does not make the muzzle velocity to really take someone down.

lots of misinformation
M16 has indeed improved. many times since it was adopted.
...cause our soldiers are going to hump 100 rounds drums around.
If the AR is so old, their beloved AK is 20 years older?
Firing from the hip full auto.....yeah right!
Old man is senile and upset the army won't buy his junk.
