Good video, next year may i suggest you encourage as many council staff to leave their posts for half an hour to witness the event so its not such low numbers there.
lol, i laughed when i saw the video showing the turn out for that pathetic little protest march. A few years ago, an event like Armed Forces Day would of led to 1000s of protestors and it would of turned violent.
I guess its a tribute to the fact Northern Ireland is moving on from its dark past. The people want peace, u need to move on from just hating the British. If you want a united Ireland its only going to happen through the democratic process and when the people of NI want it to happen
The 'homecoming' parade had 1000's of protestors. British occupation will always be opposed, peaceful protestors blocked down streets by hundreds of riot police wont stop us. The object of the protest was sucessful.
there are protests against homecoming parades in other parts of the UK as well sadly, but im talking about the silly little protest against Armed Forces Day, the police acted in a reasonable way acording to the video footage ive seen.
Had the protestors been allowed to do as they please, it would likely cause violence.
The protest was a peaceful one. No violence was going to happen you fool. The paramilitary police (wearing riot gear??) blocked footpaths and roads to belfast's citizens.
The chap raising the flag and holding it on his own( Jim Bartley
) is my uncle. Very proud of him i am.

The protestors actions were an attempt to incite a riot. the police acted in a calm and reasonable way to deal with the trouble makers. :)
Long live the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland =)
