wow...i doubt if you heard thadaeus in rehearsal...this guy on here is wonderful,but man....i can't find words to describe how awesome thadd is. i was at his soundcheck when he was showing off a little b4 a concert,i had to walk out cuz i couldnt take no more. uma try to set it up with thaddaeus and this dude...and i PROMISE thad is waaaayy betta,uma tryna tell you. and he plays a four string bass and will out do anybody who plays a 5 or 6 string. HE'S THE BEST IN THE WORLD

Then number of strings you have means nothing. You could have 4 strings, 5 strings, 6, 8, 11, 1 whatever. It's just preference. The player makes as much as he can with his favourite tool. Personally, i think when bassists get this good, they cannot be compared factually. Only opinion can divide them into best and so on.
