sister, what you do, well truth i know so must say, you are not allowed to do that!! to listen to quran and sleep, that isnt right at all sister. the quran is words of Allah himself and words of guidance for mankind, these words for those who understand it shock them and rather make them lose their sleep in crying for His fear and love throughtout the night instead, just for hearing what He had said, wether we know the meaning or not, we are told when listening to quran listen attentively...

okey now you are really confusing me! Okey i can't sleep when there is nothing playing, so usually i play nasheeds but sometimes i play Azaan and sometimes i play surah from Quran on youtube, caz they help me fall asleep. i was told that it was okey to have Quran playing softly in the room while i fall asleep and during the night. Sooooo many diff ppl. are telling me diff stuff, i think i need to find an Imam and talk to him :) Thanks for all your help!! i really appriciate it!!!

yup, i know bcuz i used to do it myself, lukily i was surrounded my a south african qualified scholar, at this time noo1 can mess with how hardcore their ulama are...nywayzz the nasheeds are allowed...ppl jus ppl, u can ask nd shud ask scholar...gd luk nd its ok...hope u get ur ansaa.....

when it come to aqida or believe , we shouldn't compromise if people are wrong. but when it come to al-furu' or the branches part of teaching, differents ulama had a differents point of view. It's rahmah from Allah that we got this. So when a muslim guy say God is two, you must correct him. But when it comes to something like music, listening to quran or what which is more on fiqh, you should compromised with others. Better ask what the reference that make him do that.
