I remember watching this when I was about twelve or thirteen...I loved it. One of those things growing up, that I religiously watched, and was sad when it wasn't on...

Gary Shitley is the most rotten , hideous Jew bastard that I have ever seen in the media. He is just a horrible crumb. His face makes you want to throw up and his snide abrasive arrogance is from Satan.
it says here on wikipedia "It's Garry Shandling's Show ran 72 episodes and was on the air for five years (1986-1990). The show was later picked up by Fox Broadcasting Company from 1988 to 1990" just thought i'd post that. i had a feeling it was.
forgot to mention that earlier someone said that Fernwood 2 night should be on DVD and i agree. I remember when Shari Lewis was a guest and lambchop was kidnapped and Jerry takes the phone and says "ok if you have lamvbchop, prove it. put it up to the phone so i can talk to her" and the kidner guy goes "are you some kind of idiot?" and Jerry goes "i think he figured out who i am" and Martin Mull says "i don;t think that's all he figured out,Jerry" rofl.
robotrix, you are wring. First run episodes of Garry Shandling Show were on Fox. I should know. I watched this show every week. After it was cancelled or after it retired, not sure which it was,Garry got another show the following TV Season on HBO called "The Larry Sanders Show" and Garry played a Talk Show host and Jeffrey Tambor played his Sidekick. this was what you are thinking of.
well IMDB shows nothing on this except the 4 seasons it was on on Fox. and the Encyclopedia of TV shows from 1949-Present shows nothing on this either.
It started on Showtime in 86 then Fox picked it up 2 years later... this show used to come on Showtime on Friday nights along with another classic, Super Dave...
I watched Sledge Hammer every week, then I'd flip over to Showtime and watch Super Dave and Garry Shandling, it was awesome...
Shandling and co-writer Alan Zweibel went on to create the surreal comedy series It's Garry Shandling's Show in 1985, which ran 72 episodes on the Showtime cable television network through 1990, with edited reruns playing on the Fox network beginning in 1988.

It's Garry Shandling's Show ran for years on Showtime before it was picked up by Fox...
The original show had language and content that could never have been aired on Fox.

Actually, he's right. It's in the Wikipedia article for Garry Shandling. But Wikipedia says it started on Showtime in 85.

I 'm in the UK and loved watching both Sledge Hammer (which aired late night on ITV) and Garry, which turned up early evening on Sundays.
They were both wonderful.
