Here's a trick for people who can't hit Miku's notes. When you say "In a new way" instead of going all soprano try to lower your voice so you're singing the song in an alto range.

Recently I figured that practicing the band edition of this song makes this original karaoke seem much easier; maybe I'm crazy, but I believe the pitch of the band edition is just a slightly higher than the original.

hmm i dont think so i think its the harmony keys.. on the bits they want to emphisize they use a lower or higher version of miku's voice. a harmony consists of a low tune normal tune and a high tune.. wen the she says meruto its a bit off tune... so it must be the lower on for e.g. XD but you are still right it does tell you if ur on the right track ^0^
