I met Buddy Rogers when I was with my mother at the Jeanette McDonald 50th fan club reunion in Beverly Hills in the mid-eighties. I was about 23 and he was in his eighties. I fell in love. What a wonderful and talented man. Too bad there aren't more videos from back then.
in the 1970s I went to Buddy Rogers's house (the famous Picfair in Beverly Hills) to change the bulb on his movie projector and this was the film he had in the machine to test it! Wow, that brought back memories. He was a really nice man.
Buddy Rogers? Hmmm....didn't he later go on to marry silent screen icon Mary Pickford? Handsome dude..and a real swingin' band! Strictly from coolsville, daddy-o! THANKS for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" with us! A sheer delight to watch from start to finish!
well he may be good at playing instruments but at least with the piano, im sure he was not the one playing cause at the end of the part he plays, he ends in the high keys of the piano but the music sounds way too deep, right from the oposite side of the piano
This location is the Hotel St. Catherine Descanso Bay Catalina Isle ...It took me forever to figure out where this snippet from Pirate Party was. Built in 1918 ..it is no longer there ..the beach is ...it was replaced by a "beach club" so to speak ..of small buildings where near as glamourous as the original hotel.

See Charles "Buddy" Rogers speak to Hollywood Astrologer Carroll Righter on February 2, 1985 Part 2. In the Search Bar type in Carroll Righter.

An impressive performance, but he played so fast, I couldn't hear the excellent tune!

What a clowning rendition, waste of talent, and insult to the band.

I love it right before the bone solo, the guy looks at her like "get this crazy bitch away from me" as she's bending the knife
