From a costumer's point of view, they should've cut the hat for Truly... the braid and flowers on her hair looked good on Sally Ann. Either that, or just give her the scarf. None the less, a really great film to grow up on
throughout the entire movie, even when i was 11, i wanted them to kiss then when i saw the end i literally cant feel any happier! :) its strange but i get attatched to characters in movies i watch... ahahah
Notice The Kissing Scene From Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? This Scene Was Often Used In Sleeping Beauty, The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Clueless, Enchanted, My Girl and Some Other Film I Forgot The Name Of.
I still have the metal cast Corgi miniature of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from 1969. Jeremy and Jemima got lost down the sink when I went to see how she floated! The wings and still in tact, and open from the side throttles and it never fails to inspire and ignite the flames of memory and passion! I played the soundtrack for friends who are musical snobs and they were WOWED by the orchestration and quite humbled to learn it had come from such a "pedestrian" film soundtrack! Viva Chitty!

Does anyone else notice that the wings aren't extended when they fly away at 1:22?

The cinematography in this film is so beautiful. I wish I could someday see it in IMAX

Bang Bang! All the kids sang it! I had a miniature model Chitty Chitty, with wings and everything! It didn't fly, yet...it did!

A "pedestrian" film?
No less a giant than Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond (007) wrote "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"!
He got tired of writing cloak & dagger stuff, so he wrote CCBB for his kids.

Unfortunately, that was one of his last novels before he died in 1964.

That would explain why Gert Frobe [GoldFinger] played Baron van Bomburst.

@gazaguy This movie was from 1968, not 1969.
