Thanx! Well, I live near a transformer dealer and a friend of mine can arrange free shipping, so i save a lot of money! It would cost around $315, but I read that copper prices should fall late this year, so I may get it for christmas instead. Right now the prices have doubled, so I'm willing to wait just a little longer for half the price. If you check the Pupman tesla coil mail list, there are a couple of people selling them, but you;ll have to pay shipping. Check it out... :)
This winter or summer i will buy a pole transformer, but I'm probably not going much bigger until college or after; i don't wana get kicked out of the house. :)
A pole transformer! thats crazy, my parents wouldn't let me get that for my own safety, Where are you gunna get it from and how much? Let me know I might be able to convince my parents.
But I'm really probably take apart my 12/60 NST and take out the shunts to get more power probably around 2kw.
I mean, is there a change that in an extremely high voltage, the eletric current hits the person inside it? The person doesn't need to touch anywhere in the cage, the eletric current simply beats the air resistance like a lightning in the sky and hits the person, can this happen?
no. The metal frame will always have less resistance than for the electric current to go between the wires and shock the person. What may be possible is if the spaces between the wire cages's wires are farther apart than the person far from the walls. If the person is grounded, it may be shorter of a path for electricity to go between wires.
yeehaaa!! now yer talkin thats cool as phuk !! y'know you have more than one streamer at a time that means you will get a much longer streamer if you get a larger toroid on there

Is there a limit of voltage for a Faraday Cage?
