It's not a fog machine, it's called Dry Ice which is a chemical reaction that makes it heavier and denser which is why it hangs lower to the ground and not all over the place like a fog machine. Check out the old Hammer House of horror films in the graveyard scenes to see the same effect. People hardly use it these days because of the time factor, shame because the dry ice fog effect is the real deal and a fog machine is just as insulting as karaoke is to live music.
