It's funny... my favorite band the last couple years has been a fuckin' cartoon. lol

Musically speaking though, they (Brendon Smalls and Gene Hoglan) are very, very good. It's not just all crap bar chords, it's a lot of sweeping scales that I (even in playing guitar almost 15 years) have a hard time mimicking. And with this album, the singing's improved. Doesn't just sound like Dr. Claw behind blast beats and locrian scales.

The group Dethklok from the show Metalocalypse is based on many famous musicians from many different metal bands. Nathan is George Fisher from Cannibal Corpse, Devin Townsend seems to be Pickes, Alexi Laiho is Skwisgaar. Not sure about Toki or Murderface, these are just guesses. So the band that does shows ISN'T Dethklok..it's hard to explain. They take versions that Brendan Small composed for the show and remake them to create albums / live songs for the awesome fans of Metalocalypse. \m/

If your stating the fact that Dethklok isnt a real band because the members of the band are cartoons and people play their songs live on stage, then that means bands like the Gorillaz are not a real band. After very successful album sales, they scouted musicians to play the live parts. On the album, it's Brendon Small's Lead Guitar, Brendon's Harmony Leads, Brendon's Rhythms, Brendon's Bass, and Brendon's Vocals. The drums have always been Gene Hoglan, but that's not relevant. I guess it really all comes down to an opinion. If you see Dethklok as a real band because you can go and see 4 guys play the songs live, that's fine. Personally, I don't think they are a real band. It's about the same as me getting some people together, calling ourselves "The Beatles," and then playing Beatles' songs live. Wrong. ALL of the songs on both albums were composed by Brendon Small, with the exception of two, where he had help from someone who is not in the live group. The songs are written for the fictional Dethklok, as in Nathan, Pickles, Toki, etc. They take the songs out of the show and play them live. They're playing Dethklok songs, but they are not Dethklok.
