Oh get over yourself! Shoulder, arms, lap - wherever. A well socialized parrot is just fine on the shoulder. You probably keep your bird locked up in his cage so he doesn't hurt himself. They love doing what you do and going where go.
they're neverrrr supposed to be on the shoulder. that's where they do stuff to get them in trouble, and where you get hurt! they should be lower or at equal eye level to you, never above you while holding them.
my bird has been going on my shoulder sience i was 6 years old and i am now 16 and my bird is 18 and i have never been bit when he was on my shoulder, and i take daily showers with him on my shoulder no problems.
