  • whats with weaving the camera right and left??

  • awww your moving the camera to much

  • is that a zig-zag?

  • me and my mom had a 1994 buick century and it kept getting stolen, all they did was pop the passanger door lock out and broke the steering column shaft and started it with a screwdriver.... was stolen twice and that was my xmas present last year. a car thats totaled by a black pussy. and you people wonder why people are racist.

  • i have a 1984 bronco 2 and i cant get the ignition cylinder out even with key in the ignition i knew how take it out but it did not come out

  • Hey, I'm about to do almost the same job on my 94 Century. I'm changing out the turn signal switch. Can you tell me more about the bolts that you have to unscrew on the back of the steering wheel? Do you know what size hex they are?

  • also put tape on clockspring so it wont unwind.

  • dont remove the key buzzer- just take a screwdriver and and hit with hammer to break off white tab that's in the way of the screw

  • The clockspring is ONLY an electrical conductor to the airbag, airbag will not deploy untill car crash deploys 2 other sensors, sending electrical current to airbag, a broken or damaged spring will only cause bag not to work if in crash...you did it right, because your wheels were straight.. next time look on back of spring, you will see the locking spring lever that holds spring in position.

as a locksmith, I have removed dozens of airbags with battery connected, just dont have static in fingers

  • When removing clockspring, tilt wheel down.

PULL CLOCKSPRING STRAIGHT OUT AND OVER POST,,(DO NOT MESS WITH IT) IT HAS A LOCKING ARM ON BOTTOM THAT WILL KEEP IT IN THE SPOT IT WAS WHEN REMOVED. if your wheel were turned ,when you recentered spring? oops

  • I reset the clock spring, and the airbag has not deployed yet in over a year.

  • nice car

    i just recently bough a 1985 oldsmobile delta 88 royal brougham L.S.

  • I have this exact car and had to replace my turn signal switch. This video told me everything I needed to know, thanks a lot, you saved me some money.

  • is this the same process to remove the lock cylinder on an 89 cadillac deville?

  • more than likely it is very similar cuz i have a 89 seville. i know mine is giving m hell to take off.

  • i believe so i have a 90 deville mines just ceased up on me i had to disconnect the battery. thank god the ignition switch is cheap. now i have the same prob.

  • thanx man. got some confidence now.. what a coincidence, you mentioned your first car was a 77 chevy impala. and that was your first cylinder you've replaced. well i have the same car 77 impala coupe, and thats the reason i'm watchin this vid. my sis lost my keys so i gotta get a new ignition key and door lock. either do it myself or pay a locksmith $150. i decided to pay the appx $20-25 for the new ignition and for the locksmith to make me a key for the doors. thanx

  • Most older GM steering column's up until 1995 were very similar. The only change on the newer models was the wiper switch on the signal arm. The job sounds complicated at first, but once you get skilled at it the job is easy as pie. The biggest pain is removing the snap ring on the lock plate, but you have to have a lock plate remover to compress the lock plate down. If you rebend the snap ring, and think its distorted dont worry about it when reinstallating. Good luck!

  • @craig1974 you can have a lock plate compressor or two thumbs and a mate!

  • If you have the small block V8 in that Chevy i would upgrade the timing chain because the cam gears had teflon teeth which wear down in a short time.

  • thanks very much for this vid! i've been trying to figure out how to pull the ignition lock out of my 84 chevy c10 for a while now!

  • nooo effinnnn wayyyy.. the same thing broke off on the left of the wheel for the horn... creepy...lol

  • Thanks for that !

I had my airbag deploed and I didn't know how to reset it !

  • (7:23) you can remove it with a needle nose........good one bud I didnt know about the SIR coil, thanks man.

  • i get them all the time at work

  • ever hear of wd 40?

  • I tried that, but never worked.

  • good job i have a 93 3300V6 that currently has 85k that wouldn't start when hot, it still won't but i wired in a button. i hope its good in the snow they seem to be solid cars. i did my alternator in like 20 minutes this morning

  • nice to know this Craig. I hope this doesn't happen to mine.

  • Yours is not hard because it has no airbag. The job may sound complicated, but after awhile you get skilled at it.

  • Cool, I like seeing videos like this.

  • Its good that youre careful working around that airbag.

Nice Buick, my neighbor still has his '93, with over 200k.

  • nice car! how many miles ya got on it? looks really clean!

  • Its got 90,000 miles on it, and i owned it since 2001 when it had 39,000 miles on it. When i got the car it was mint with no rust. Now it has a few rust areas here, and there. A guy sold it to me because his mother in law had alzheimers.

  • It already did work out. I drove the car to Papa Murphys to get a pizza.

  • sweet video craig awesome hope it works out for you man

  • Thank you! No Lawnboy mowers though. They are hard to find.

  • thats a nice buick. do you have any lawnboy mowers
