A creation or any object testifies that their is a creator who made it. For example we wouldn't say that a watch came into being simply by throwing different objects. Or that a very nice painting was made by throwing paint. Now when we look at this beautiful world with its wonders. And even the human body it testifyies that their is a creator who made such a complex being.

Catholicism did not invent the idea of Purgatory. Nor, did it invent the idea of one's friends/family donating or doing good deeds on the deceased's behalf. That is also a Jewish concept.
The Jewish religion recognizes "righteous people" who follow the "7 Noahide Laws" If one is not "righteous" one is subjected to Gehnna/Sheol.
You might want to check out the term: "Gehenna" which is the Jewish phrase for the place of purification (sort of like Purgatory) for the wicked. At the end of the purification period the person's soul either goes to Olam Ha-Ba (Habah) or is destroyed. The term "Sheol" describes a place of purification like "Gehenna" Interchangeable terms?

there is no mention of eternal punishment, however it does mention the word Sheol. Instead of meaning eternal punishment as you suggest in the context of where souls will be when they die before the coming of the messiah jewish people believe it means they will wait in their grave . so sheol means grave.

In Judaism, if you are a non-Jew you have to follow the 7 Laws of Noah to enter Olam Haba (The World to Come) or become a practicing Jew or either wise you are cast out forever into eternal torment. Christianity isn't about being religious, and the things you DO. Its about trusting a loving God who is faithful. In my experience as a christian so far, God has proved Himself to be so good. I believe in a god because I have no idea how we could exist without a god to create us. I used to be an atheist, but when I looked at the roots I realized that there has to be a god due to the fact that we exist. The afterlife was a way of keeping the peasants from rising up and deposing the tribal prince and his priests. That's why it is useful to those in power, and those who have wealth.

I think you are misguided about Jewish faith traditions.
If you start with reading Number 3:10, you will see that Jews required atonement for sins (like Christianity). The entire requirement for atonement came from the OT. The Jews who read the Torah, and believe in the Kohen Gadol (The High Priest), then they see clearly the need for repentence, atonement, and justification before God.
Without the Jewish faith traditions, Jesus would not be the Kohen Gadol of Christianity.

There's a vague reference to afterlife in Torah and that place is called sheol, very much can it be compared to a shadow-world similar to that one of the Greeks, hades. That it's a hint that there may be something more after this earthly life.
However, the rabbis developed this notion of afterlife. Adding the "doctrine" of Paradise/gan eden for the righteous, etc, etc...
Most Jews within Reform and Conservative movement today don't believe in afterlife. That's because we're bound to honour life more than death, and we're not like the X-ians whose "Jesus-is-God religion" celebrate death more than life.

There are a number of Jews who believe in a messiah. That's how Jesus and his followers got started. Most Jews didn't accept that he was the messiah, and that's where all the trouble with Christians started.

And actually, there is no hell in Judaism. Only what you may call "purgatory" which is simply a period when you see all the bad things you did in your life and your soul is so humbled by it that it is purified.

And just like 3oo or 400 years ago people were saying, ooh you Jews don't have a homeland etc. we do see that slowly it changed. Now many Jews are back in Israel and only with time the third temple will be rebuilt again.
G-D isn't some "magic formula" or anything like that. We do what we physically can, and G-D looks at our actions and our heart (intent). We pray to do more.

Catholicism did not invent the idea of Purgatory. Nor, did it invent the idea of one's friends/family donating or doing good deeds on the deceased's behalf. That is also a Jewish concept.
The Jewish religion recognizes "righteous people" who follow the "7 Noahide Laws" If one is not "righteous" one is subjected to Gehnna/Sheol.

You might want to check out the term: "Gehenna" which is the Jewish phrase for the place of purification (sort of like Purgatory) for the wicked. At the end of the purification period the person's soul either goes to Olam Ha-Ba (Habah) or is destroyed. The term "Sheol" describes a place of purification like "Gehenna" Interchangeable terms?

This means our sin is measured according to his standards - to him, sin is abhorrent - he can in no way tolerate it. BAsed on my research I have to disagree with you. In Judaism, if you are a non-Jew you have to follow the 7 Laws of Noah to enter Olam Haba (The World to Come) or become a practicing Jew or either wise you are cast out forever into eternal torment. I have gone to some Jewish sources and they do teach that there are certain people who are punished for eternity.

Christianity isn't about being religious, and the things you DO. Its about trusting a loving God who is faithful. In my experience as a christian so far, God has proved Himself to be so good. I apologize for any of the christians or "religious leaders" who may have twisted the truth by the way they live their lives, and I am able to understand why someone won't believe there is a God. Just look at the world! There are alot of hypocrytes out there! But one things for sure. A man died for a cause.

Nick, you seem to be more of a anti-Christian than anything else. I, myself, am a mono-theist and plan to convert to Judaism at a later date. I believe in a god because I have no idea how we could exist without a god to create us. I used to be an atheist, but when I looked at the roots I realized that there has to be a god due to the fact that we exist. Many scientific facts say that something must be created in order to exist, (to make a pie you need ingredients). Anyway, Christianity is harsh.

Do Jews really believe that? But that makes God seem like a lazy Judge if He allowed Cain, Esau, Pharoah, Jezebel and others from Judaism into Heaven. The reason God sends people to hell is because He DOES NOT love everyone, in fact He hates most people so He intentionally sends them to Hell. The Old Testament agrees on this, so what the Jews are teaching is just lies. If they teach lies God is obviously going to send them to Hell. He's not pleased with Jews AT ALL.

The afterlife was a way of keeping the peasants from rising up and deposing the tribal prince and his priests. That's why it is useful to those in power, and those who have wealth.
It's useful to the peasants, because it's a coping mechanism for life if your life sucks.
Both uses came out of ancestor worship, which all primitive hunter-gatherer human groups practiced. This came about because humans could see the effects of death, but could not scientifically explain life.

From your description, the Jewish afterlife is more democratic. Christians won't even accept a virtuous person into heaven if he doesn't "believe."

I think you are misguided about Jewish faith traditions.
If you start with reading Number 3:10, you will see that Jews required atonement for sins (like Christianity). The entire requirement for atonement came from the OT. The Jews who read the Torah, and believe in the Kohen Gadol (The High Priest), then they see clearly the need for repentence, atonement, and justification before God.
Without the Jewish faith traditions, Jesus would not be the Kohen Gadol of Christianity.

Actually hell only lasts a 1000 years because the earth will burn in fire while the rightous live in heaven and when the earth is remade the new Jerusalem will come down from heaven cover the earth. Musilms do believe in Jesus and yes there is a God and yes my beliefs are Christain. But my Christain beliefs are more Jewish than Catholic.

Most folks today seem to miss the fact that Judaism has evolved during the centuries. Many x-ians seem to still believe that Judaism is the religion of the old testament when fact is that the religion developed a lot since those days.
There's a vague reference to afterlife in Torah and that place is called sheol, very much can it be compared to a shadow-world similar to that one of the Greeks, hades. That it's a hint that there may be something more after this earthly life.

I've never died, so how should I know? What I'm tell you is that the term "Hel(l)" comes from Norse mythology, not Semitic. Secondly, the idea of Gey-Hinnom/Gehenna (the Jewish notion of a lake of fire) didn't come along in Judaism until some time around the 1st Century.
Israelites believed in "sheol", the place of the dead where you "sleep" or are unconscious forever (unless someone calls you up from the dead to ask you questions, it seems).

Christians and Jews share the Old Testament.
There are a number of Jews who believe in a messiah. That's how Jesus and his followers got started. Most Jews didn't accept that he was the messiah, and that's where all the trouble with Christians started.
The fact that Jesus was a Jew himself, and most Christians come from other races, only make the irony that much more ridiculous.

Yes Zach I agree with you, that there are certain types of Jews who look to G'd in them selves. This Jewish characteristic was first noted in the Torah account of the Jews at the base of Mt Sini when they couldn't wait for Moses to come down. This same characteristic was exhibited by Aarons two son when they offered up unholy fire. I think Jews owe so much and should be so thankful to Moses for without him, they would not exist as a race.
