Now we need a pregnancy test that is like a nightmarish David Lynch movie. It continually stonewalls, obfuscates, manipulates and fucks with your head (much like most women) until you are mentally to unstable to keep your children.
If David Lynch designed this pregnancy test, the results would always read not "Yes" or "No", but "Yes-No." He'd also invent pregnancy tests for men, senior citizens and children.
Lynch, or the quest behind much of his work, is somewhat, perhaps, the embodiment...in a sense...of Warhol's Campbell Soup Can.......a certain ideal of beauty that is so frigging "normal"...it's art so high concept most folks just either don't get it or don't notice it....even though it changes the world eventually. incidentally, I maintain there would be no "rock and roll" w/out "modern art" movement. of course this is an over simplification...but I have just so many characters remaining.
The only problem is it tells you YES then NO every hour. It' almost like David Lynch is wanting to drag you through his own hell but do it in less than 16 seconds. It's very subtle but it's there.
It's disappointing that the story behind the circumstances of this commercial isn't in the description.
Lynch had the actress take the p-test, and without her knowledge, swapped the stick with one used by an already pregnant woman. The actress had no reason to think she was pregnant, but he wanted to catch her reaction if she thought that she was!
Man, just thinking about the back story of her pregnancy within the framework of a David Lynch film makes you want to watch this over and over and over again.... I was just waiting for her to burst out singing "In heaven everything is fine...."
Do most of you even research any of your comments before clack, clack , clacking a response off the top of your heads. This is Lynch, it is well known, and his style is intact.....There is an entire website revolving around Lynch's commercial work.
probably. Wait now or when I wrote that comment? Oh, it doesn't matter. I was so obsessed with Sherilyn Fenn when I wrote that, I was on the verge of recognizing her visage in tacos. Still the woman in this video does resemble her if a bit less atractive.
...So run to your local CVS and buy BOXES AND BOXES of pregnancy tests NOW!!!
...And three months later, when the high has worn off, you'll be sitting in your living room, crowded up against the wall by your thousands of pregnancy test boxes, wondering what the hell you were thinking.
@AvacadoDesperado Yeah check it out; it's just a movie :) It's pretty hard to watch though; but it's definitely a classic lynch film; you really get the feeling of intense awkwardness and hating this damn baby. It's not something that bears repeat viewing in my opinion.
Yeah, man... its like the blue represents the ocean, and the grey represents the sky above the ocean, and the two working in harmony together helps one decide whether or not to have a baby. Genious.
No. Cheryl Lee played Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks, and Twin Peaks; Fire Walk With Me.
