No mention of touring bicycles? Come on folks, they do exist! Bike shops may have tried to ignore them out of existence, and in the 1990s-2000s it nearly worked, but the reality is, many cyclists need to carry loads and consequently the touring bike is making a well-deserved comeback.

Also, I wouldn't describe a mountain bike as the most versatile type of bicycle - they are well-suited to off-road cycling but little else. Comfort bikes and touring bikes are just as versatile as mountain bikes.

@blickblocks 20 pounds or less is probably 500 dollars or more. Not everyone wants to buy a nice bike. Sometimes 15 pounds or less.
