Why did you use the Buick 255 v8 they were Crap! thats why GM sold them to range rover they are an American designed Engine ! why not Build a Grand National V6 turbo motor for the car much lighter and a better design and way more power ! I built a 231 v6 with 250hp this engine is 1960's technology and not a great motor back then !

@ruwithlee1970 Something tells me you're in the States. Here in the UK the choice of 'larger' engines is more limited. The Rover V8 was pretty much the only V8 readily available in the UK until a few years ago when some BMW and Mercedes engines got cheap enough to use. As for the 3.5 litre Rover V8 itself, its based on the Buick 215 but is much more developed. And its easily tunable in the UK. 550bhp from 5.2 litres isn't impossible, and thats without turbos. And it sounds much better than a V6!

Nice intake setup. So is that the old buick design aluminum V8 from back in the day? Range rover apparantly bought the patent sometime in the 70's and has been building them ever since.

Beautiful !!! I'm from Brazil , we have lots of Chevettes here, i had one with a 2.5 4cil GM from an Opala (opel rekord), which was already very good...but with a V8 is way to cool... !!!! That engine is from which car ?? Are those 8 individual carbs or or 4 twin carbs ??

@ledametto The engine is from a Range Rover, carbs are eight individual from two Honda Fireblades. I'm not using them now changed to a four barrel weber.

@v8chevette My goodness, the engine bay seem be big enough to swallows a V12, with room to spare... OK, no brake booster, no air ducts/air filter, no coolant expansion tank, no windshield fluid tank, probably no air conditioning? power steering pump (do you really need it)? battery? (in the rear for better weight distribution) . But still, you should be able to fit all those goody mention above in that compartment.

Oh, and here in the US the chevette was a front drive dispose a car, a piece of crap made up parts bin leftovers from the vega and others.It seems You have a much better car in the UK.
