  • i paid £1250 uk pounds, so about $1900

  • They are out now, I have a set and they are superb

  • How much did you pay for them U.S. Dollars?

  • Who invented this set ? They sound so real it's not funny.

  • You're not a player though are you?

  • I am still waiting since 2005, they said they would be out soon back then... when?!?!? please tell us when! I want them!

  • When and where can you buy the,?

  • what about regulators?

  • Well there are none.

I guess this is an electronic half set.

  • The website says it has no regulators. But, as it's electronic, I suppose (hope) they can be added relatively easily to the design!

  • Nice sound! V pipes eh? Is it just V pipe or is it a particular brand like the v pipe 2000s or something?

  • omg! had i known they made electronic pipes, i would've save up for them before buying a real half set! this is awesome!

  • It isn't even Uillean pipes. I suppose you'd call it an electronic chanter. don't imagine it wold handle nearly the same though the finger hole spacing might be close. And yo don't have either bag or bellows to contend with, which would make it very different from the real thing.

  • There is a pressure sensor which you put under the arm in place of the bag for octave change. Thats about it, and of course there's no bellows. Therefore this should not replace the practice set for the absolute beginners.

  • I'm sure I could figure out how to coordinate the bellows after learning to play the chanter proficiently first. It would be less to think about than a beginner would be trying to think about. I picked up accordion recently and have found that my operation of the bellows is "not normal." Mainly because I'm concentrating on sight reading the music. Fortunately I already have 10 years of piano in me.

  • wow every time i hear bagpipes it gives me chills...i would really love to learn to play those...beautiful sound

  • That particular sound is not bagpipes. Try Uillean pipes.

  • Uilleann pipes being a type of bagpipes.

  • yeah yeah yeah... I know

  • The people don't get! It's not a real bagpipe and won't be! Why not to play the real ones?!

  • Well, there are still pipemakers. And, Cillian Vallely also plays real pipes, so relax.

  • Sorry but such thing are happening in other spheres such as the cookery - that people unorganic food, such as colored water/Cola...

  • I know. But I'm just talking about this: Irish Traditional Music.

And besides, if I've not mentioned yet I'm all for traditional instruments. It's very important we keep all these instrument making traditions alive, before they disappeear.

Live pipes have a feel which cannot be duplicated by electronic sets.

  • Sorry! In our modern times not many people will think like us, so I'm fighting to bring back our/yours Traditions!

  • Some of us do not have the luxary of being able to play due to work hours or neighbours. I have a 1/4 set already but I would pay insande amounts of money for a vPipe, and the ability to practice and play for myself wherever.

  • what amazing and fantastic pipes!!!!

    -and lovely playing too

  • saw him at the festival club, he is one of the best pipers around.

  • wow, that's impressive, I rly want one now. but, being a piper, I wouldn't know what to do with my bellows arm, because these don't have any bellows!

  • very interesting indeed! does anybody know how could order one???

  • i am a highland piper by trade, i love uillean pipes, yet theyre too expensive..how much do these cost? they are awesome and so is the player..outstanding !

  • Probably more than real pipes :P

  • they cost about $1,000

  • verry cool nice sound sounds exactly like the ullian pipes

  • Wow, this instrument sounds great, much better than many of the other electronic pipes I've heard!

How's the work going on the gaita and whistle versions?

  • slowly but surely although we are working hard to make them available as soon as possible.

    RmC

  • and it even has a drone on it! wow really amazing!

  • that really sounds lie the uilleann pipe from ireland well done where can i get em?!

  • contact the makers at vPipes dot com

  • thanks!

  • Very nice! It's incredible how that device sounds!

  • wow your great
