Dubai is NOT the city of the future. Why not? Did I see 6 lanes on that roadway? Our negligence to the environment today will only make us suffer tomorrow. We must consider transportation alternatives. With that said, I still think Dubai is extremely beauiful, modern, and I'd like to visit the city one day.

Actually a number of chinese cities have grown faster, notably chongchinq, which didn't exist 20 years ago and is now much bigger and fancier than dubai.

I hope that this is not the city of the future. the road you showed is "old" Dubai(build in the 80ies), also in Dubai they understand that they need public transportation and less car orientation to create nice places for humans to live. this street here is a no go zone for pedestrians.
