lol, I hated this terrible Bakshi version of LOTR...bad rotoscoping = epic fail.
I guess they didn't want to shoot the actors running again or the editor forgot to cut that bit before sending it to the animators to color over it...the whole film stinks...Bakshi FTL
What's hilarious is imagining Bakshi sitting there in the screening room, watching the live-action footage, with this actor falling, and saying "That's fine, let's rotoscope this masterpiece!".
Thanks for posting, The whole world should see this, especially though who few who say this is better than Jackson's version.
LOL I had just finished watching the movie and I happened to catch your vid. When I saw it in the movie I replayed it about 12 times. I laughed for the longest time. xD
That was the brainstorming idea. The sword, the trip, and the other two laughing. XD They tried to make it seem dramatic with the music, epic fail. =D
Overall I guess it's a good movie, but being a 70'a cartoon it looks hilarious at unintentional moments! I see what they were trying to do here. They were trying to make us feel the pain and difficulty of the agonizingly long run he made, but still it looked to funny xD.
If he did trip over his sword that might be okay considering how long that thing was. It was made for the numenorian king if I'm not mistaken and that guy was really tall.
It's not what I would call a good movie, but it's... interesting to say the least. I have it on DVD, purely for the novelty of it. I didn't know about this Aragorn tripping scene beforehand when I first watched the movie, so it was a total surprise. Still the most hilarious and inexplicable scene of the entire film.
didnt know aragorn was an indian

No kidding...XD I think it was their sense of humor they made it possible. "This movie is too serious! Make something funny happen!"

I wonder if the people who animated this, did this for a reason.
"Hey! Let's mess with everyones minds and screw up a scene! I wonder if anybody will notice."
"What scene?"
"Hey lets make him trip over his own sword!"
O_o.....................
xD

And to do it by tripping over his own sword. That must have been embarrassing for him. I mean, his friends behind him laughing at his failure. XD

No I think it was more on the ground. I didn't see them laughing either, but I wouldn't be suprised if they were!
