Hate this! It's stalking my mind! And I was quite shocked when I saw that Red Box is the artist, I like their later songs. Bwaaah, mind-stalker, those times were pretty weird...
I think this song is way ahead of it's time (after taking about 20 years to find it). From what I read in Wikipedia, it was the band's response to WEM (Warner Music) which asked Red Box to write something mainstream to appeal to America. In response, carried by a catchy bouncy tune lies a sarcastic portrayal of The American Dream (I believe the yodelling was portraying The Native American Indian and it's plight). Needless to say, it didn't do very well in America, lol.
@Patrickthedutch Bless you. I mean this in a friendly way but you might want to do some reading, understanding and thinking before branding socialism, communism, liberalism and Islam as evil! As with all regimes and ideologies there are people who exploit these systems for their own ends and corrupt all that was good about them. Unfortunately that is part of human nature and the same applies to capitalism, Christianity, democracy etc. Go on - do some research, I dare you. :)
@DelfinoDelphis I'm more worried about the dreadful dress sense myself. What an awful lost gem from 86. That said l have to admit that l was hooked in 86 and loved this.
i used to listen to this when i was a kid on one of the NOW albums. i forgot the name of it and just stumbled across it. lucky. it does bring back loads of good momories. i love this kind of stuff. wish they still did it this way. ps gotta get me one of them gray suits.

A brilliant song and a tune before its time. But does anybody know what this song is really about. GREED. Banks ? Bush ? Putin ? Murdoch ? Blair ? EU ? RSB ? TESCO ? Watch the dollars people. They are going to fuck you and fuck this planet.
The globe tells me that there 3 Americas, North, South and Middle America. Why does the United States raise there flag and say America at the same time? Canada and Mexico are in the same America. It's called North America.
My wife was the stylist on this video, the cow-skin jacket the drummer is wearing was hers, they needed to borrow it so that he would look more American, and the Statue of Liberty was all her own work too.

This song brings back so many memories from my childhood! I used to have the Limited Edition single- shaped like a 3D red box- played it over and over
this song reminds me so much of my childhood, even tho I am born in 87, my dad used to play this song very often on his LP player and I usually went nuts about this song... I still remember the texts from the day I found this one again today :))
I was in a nightclub when this was released. Two groups of guys proceeded to smash up each other, then the nightclub, then chase the police. This song was on in the background as it was happening so whenever I hear it i burst out laughing. 'All this peace and understanding' :D

Before 911, it looked like the world was perfect.
Maybe I was just too young to understand the worlds problems.
I never heard about evil like socialism, communism, liberalism, islam.
I never knew that people hate America, and in their jealousy are blaming America and the Jews for all the evil that happened to them.
Like I said, the world seemed almost to be perfect before 911.
