hi reallyy nice video love the graphics... 2 questions first is that fsx or 2004?

second wat is ur pc specs if u know cause im looking to get a better one to run this plane plus other like wilco.. but they are all frame killers to my pc. in fsx i fly this pmdg 747 at an aiport E.G sydney or los angles or any where i get 6-17 frames per sec every bit of graphic slider is on minium but fps bar is unlimited so if i could get a good CPU name that would run this beautiful planewould be great

I'm thinking about t=getting this aircraft. But i've heard it's a fps killer. I have an i7 at 4GHz processor will that be okay to run the 747 as well as in this video?

@sgtmact It's not really that bad on frames, and your processor will do fine.

@sgtmact ... my pc doesnt like "payware" big planes on fsx.... though the same plane runs brilliant in fs9 . fsx handles my big planes that come with the programme fine .... just not big payware ones. weird.

I have a decent pc setup and decent graphic card.

Nice video I almost have the same rig. What's your fps at major airport cities and do you use traffic?

It depends on the plane I use, weather, etc. but best I can get around ~40+ in big cities with traffic on and most sliders up.......if I turn every slider up and every option on, fly my PMDG downtown at an addon airport and turn FRAPS on I get about 2. So it varies widely.

When I record I turn a lot of things down because FRAPS just about cuts frames in half

when do you record your flights? is it while your playing or doing replay and what is you fps while recording?

I use to until I got FSRecorder, now I record various parts of the flight and then play those back and record with fraps. FRAPS takes a good tole on fps, it really depends, anywere from ~12-35+.

I use different ones every time I fly, this one was maybe orange west coast....something that looked golden.

Well I have scenery for Australia and it's just one of the bigger cities/airports for my 747....even though the 747 doesn't fly there....oh well.

only 3 faults here ;-) number 1 departure to perth on runway 05 you would turn left not right. number 2 Qantas use 737-800's for the perth route and number 3 i wish they would send 747-400's here more often. all that aside great vid.

But I've got a question. I'm sure you have DX10 activated. How many FPS do you get in that video with your settings? I only get 35 fps max, and this is at night without clouds.

I've got the PMDG 747-400X too, but if I look at your aileron at 2:50... it's only a smooth motion. My ailerons normally only "stumble" in a jerkily motion... So, how do you get such overwhelming framerates and smooth motions?

OK, I saw your system :-D. But i heard that the FSX is a very cpu-using program, because it only uses one core. So it should be equal if you have a dual core or a quad core, shouldn't it?? I mean, I'm just enthused (and a little bit jealous, too :-)) about your fluent gaming.

They fixed the one core thing with FSX SP1 or SP2, can't remember which, and yes it is very cpu intensive.

Actually because of a bug with the taxiways I don't have DX10 on, I will turn it on every now and then when I don't do take-off/landing videos. But I do get slightly better fps w/DX10 turned on.

Yes, it's a great buy, it affects the entire environment(clouds, haze, weather, water effects, sun, lightning), but also you can control other things as well such as runway lights, aircraft lights, runway/taxi textures, etc.

I see know, well the street lights are controlled by FTX but my runway lights are controlled by REX.....and those can be customizable as well.

Thanks, not sure about the bloom, though with this scenery you can pick the light style and size of the light.

It's addon scenery from Orbx...formerly VOZ. FTX(full terrain experience), covers all of Australia(AU) with different region packs, Blue is the south region.

Can I ask you a question? Not to be picky, but I notice that there is a bit of stuttering in the video. It's not just on this video, but every FSX video on youtube has it. Now do you experience that during gameplay, or is it just the way it shows because you recorded it?

That's a good question, this partly has to do with FRAPS and partly with YouTube. When recording with fraps I get a dramatic drop in framerate...which is the main culprit in the stuttering. YouTube a little when uploading and processing. When I'm not recording I see nothing but a smooth video.
