Can you all read the my commit a little ways down. That scripture is also to the married women to do that wait until they get home if they wanted to ask anything. So is it just for married women not to preach. People please set the women free. Study your Bible all they way don't get hung up on one verse check the history. The Law look at my commit from earlier, you will find the back ground of that law.
Look up the word prophet and prophetess...better yet prophesy...it doesn't mean to preach. In fact, look in 2nd Corinthians, it says WOMEN are to keep SILENT IN THE CHURCH,for it IS NOT permitted for them to speak
Jesus action with the 12 disciples never says they are the only ones to ever be allowed to deliver the gospel. He also NEVER says anything about denying women. .
Jesus showed his resurrected self to Mary Magdalene first told her to tell the others the GOOD NEWS. She is the first gospel preacher.
Rm 16. Phoebe is a minister, - Paul tells the others (men and women) to aid her.
Yeah, the bible says in the last days the lord will pour out his spirit upon ALL flesh, BUT...that still doesn't say for women to preach. And NOWHERE in the bible does it say for a woman to preach. In all that we get,get understanding. For those that don't understand, pray for some
I disagree with him because the scripture that everyone wants to use 1st Cor. 14:10 was a law that was put up by King Ahasuerus in Esther 1:19-22, so you going to use the bible there is need to such the hole word. Then also if Jesus didn't want women to preach why did he use a woman to preach the first sermon after He rose. The men showed up at the tomb of our Lord but he chose to talk to a women and told her to go tell the brothen what she saw. This is in John 20: 1-17.
there is male nor females in the lord we all are sons of God if you have the spirit of God and you know the true word of God then you would know this and imma support all woman pastors that is preaching the true word of God i wish he would come put his feet on my pastor.
so to all the woman of God do whatever God called you to do the battle belongs to God
I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING HE SAID, SIMPLY BECAUSE HE PROVED IT BY THE SCRIPTURES. THE WOMEN ARE JUST TAKING OVER AND PROPHESYING IS NOT PREACHING. PREACH ELDER SMITH!!!!!!!!!!!! WE NEED TO HEAR THE TRUTH. OH BLESS HIS NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@keeshunna16 Yes he did woman submitted and led of the Holy Spirit. This man's ministry is indicative of a "spirit-led" (not) a spirits-filled, Jezebel nature ministry. Yes let us led of the Holy Spirit FOLLOW, precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little there a little (Isa. 28:9-10) our manual for life-the Holy Bible. Preach/teach man of God Tony Smith, very few teach from the Bible, bless your ministry. And again keeshunna16 thank you for your spirit-inspired post of biblical truth.
Look in the churches now, all you see is plenty women and few men. Men are neglecting their roles as being the head of a household, so God has to use what he got.
@deaconstaley . I sure would like to know what bible you got that from. Learn the order GOD. If that were the case as you stated that would make the bible a lie. And we all know thats not the case, maybe at your church, but not the true church of GOD. Men not going to church has absolutely nothing to do with the order of God. It can be an all women church but it doesnt mean its of the Lord. Thats whats important. Maske sure your serving GOD and not man "Deacon" lol . Self appointed titles.
How can people watch this and still think women can preach? He gave you the scriptures where its found. Keep believing what you want. There will be plenty of space in Hell for you.
@Dfinner02 I strongly disagree with this video. It's also spoken in the book of Matthew, that before the end of time God will call his son's and daughter's to preach his word. God also told the Hebrew children out in the desert, that if they cease to give him praise that he will make the rocks cry out. In other words, God will use whoever or whatever he chooses.
How can people who read the bible continue to think that women can preach. It clearly states that. My 2yr old understands that. This whole world is going out backwards
Acts:2-17 and it shall come too pass in the last days, that i will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and your sonds and your DAUGHTERS WILL PROPHESY!! ENOUGH SAID. false.....

I love this man's passion and ability to remember scriptural verses. I admire his courage to speak what he believes even if it is unpopular. And I'm a feminist.
How ignorant and sad. "In the last days, I will pour out my spirit upon ALL flesh" God is no respecter of person and doesn't look @ male and female but he sees us as spirit....pure ignorance!
Greetings Man of Yah, I will keep you lifted in prayer... We truly are in the last days... The only person that can JUDGE you and Will JUDGE you is Yah! Men and women are in the image of Yah. Not Just Man. I am so glad Man did not call me. Yah Called Me and I don't need 2 stand behind no pulpit Yah, called me(fFEMALE) into Prison Ministry. Have You Been To a Prison to Minister PASTOR?
Yawl foolish...WOW!!! Making a mockery of the Church of God!!! The first Evangelist after Christ's resurrection were women!!! The Bible says, "STUDY to show thyself aproved to RIGHTLY divide the Word of TRUTH!!!"
@BishopBrown93. the first one that proclaimed the resurrection was the angel that told the women that Jesus, whom they were seeking was not there. he was risen. An angel is a "messenger". The angel was sent to the tomb by God, the women went because Jewish women went to anoint the dead for burial, as a custom.
i guest these guys never looked up the word PROPHETESS and see the women the God used Huldah spoke Gods word and judgment 2 kings 22:16-17. Deborah a Prophetess judge of all Israel even went to war Judges 4:4. Anna Luke 2:36
some people need to read the whole bible not the parts they like lol woman pastors iF GOD called you then do whatever he told you to do when you are in the spirit it
@mitchetoln Right...the man gets carried away (especially with calling folk "dumb" and/or "stupid"). However, NO ONE can deny whatever truth he speaks (and he actually does speak some).
YE SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH AND IT SHALL MAKE YOU FREE LOL LOOK AT THE CHURCHES TODAY THEY ARE MADE UP OF MOSTLY WOMAN SO WHO TO SAY GOD DIDNT CALL A WOMAN TO PREACH.
@MANNEE2008 Where do YOU get your direction from: God or the day/times of mankind? I'm not judging you...just asking? Today homosexuals are readily allowed to continue their lifestyle even in the midst of the church...right? So, do you presume God has now chosen homosexuals (liars, murderers, fornicators and all manner of sin/evil/unrighteousness) to lead His church according to how things currently are? If so, what book in the bible supports YOUR belief? Again, just asking?
@iHymn75 ok imma leave it alone ok i can't change your mind and you surely can't change mines just make sure i dont listen to this anymore i thank GOD for my female pastor good bye
@MANNEE2008 That's fine. Again, was just inquiring as to where you get your direction. Obviously you're content with following what YOU want to do and who YOU chose to follow. As God is (as it were) a gentleman and won't force ANYONE to obey HIS will, who else can force you to do anything other than what YOU choose to do?!
@MANNEE2008 this is to myself lol i am blessed and highly favored of the lord and i am blessed to have a female pastor that have been preaching god's word over 38 years and i know she is a true woman of god like most pastor gets paid my pastor don't one thing she said there is no retirement in god so she will never talk about retirement so hate on haters keep your comments to you self i thnk god for my pastor and thats all i have to say.woman don't belong under any guys feet or pastor
YE SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH AND IT SHALL MAKE YOU FREE LOL LOOK AT THE CHURCHES TODAY THEY ARE MADE UP OF MOSTLY WOMAN SO WHO TO SAY GOD DIDNT CALL A WOMAN TO PREACH.IN ADAM DAYS HE GAVE ADAM A JOB AND HE FAIL TO DO IT
@anotheronem And some men preachers are pimps! What's your point? That we (as humans) often do/incorporate things/ideas that are contrary to God's sound doctrine DOES NOT mean these things are acceptable or that God will forgive us! How exactly does God forgive those who WILLFULLY seek/follow after sinful things? Which book do you find that in?
1. Lydia, Priscilla, Phoebe, and more were leaders (ministers or deacons if you will) of the early Church alongside men. Rm 16, Acts etc.
2. Junia is listed as an apostle amoung apostles - Junia has been proved to be a woman by many esteemed biblical scholars from all walks.
3. Women were in Jesus ministry and were the MOST faithful of all Jesus servants to His death. (The men went and hid during the crucifixion. All except John.
4. Mary M was the FIRST preacher, having been the One Jesus chose to reveal Himself when risen. Jesus told HER to go tell the others the good news. That makes Mary the FIRST PREACHER!
5. The Pentecost - BOTH men and women present.
6.. When Jesus sent the 72 there is strong conjecture that they were in teams of men and women.
8. No one is SINNING when they READ the bible study to find TRUTHS about that time frame with aid of the Holy Spirit. Then they will be wise to NOT follow MEN BLINDLY.
@anotheronem 6. Again, who denies that the 70 other disciples Jesus sent may have been women? At the same time, you have to chalk it up to pure speculation though! That's beside the point! Luke 9:1-2 clearly states, "Then he called his twelve disciples (MEN)...gave them power/authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them (apostles...MEN) to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick". AFTER this He sent out 70 more! Whether men/woman doesn't support your stance!
@anotheronem 1. I readily/happily agree that these you mentioned had certain roles in the church as ministers/deaconesses! That is NOT my debate! We ALL are ADMINISTERS of Christ...even our children who believe! This DOES NOT mean God set women to rule EXACTLY as men do and we NEVER read of women rightfully Pastoring the flock! We ALL have our places/roles!
@anotheronem Elder, Pastor, Bishop, Presbytery and Shepherd ALL speak of the same office! Look up the Hebrew:
ra`ah raw-aw'
a primitive root; to tend a flock; i.e. pasture it; intransitively, to graze (literally or figuratively); generally to rule; by extension, to associate with (as a friend):--X break, companion, keep company with, devour, eat up, evil entreat, feed, use as a friend, make friendship with, herdman, keep (sheep)(-er), pastor, + shearing house, shepherd, wander, waste.
@anotheronem There are indeed restriction on who can teach...depending on what YOU mean by "teach"? To preach is to teach and the two mean the SAME thing! However, it is NOT given for women, in the confines of God's mandate for marriage and/or public worship, to be the lead...simple and plain! Both Paul/Peter speak of women being submissive unto their husbands as even unto God (and vice versa)! Let YOUR inner reverence for God be what makes YOU great/influential in Christ!
Christ wanted all people to come to HIM. Christ did not define who could lead or not, other than he did ALLOW women in HIS ministry. Christ trusted women to hear and carry the gospel and he commended women sufficiently for their belief and faith.
Remember Christ did NOT have a bible.
Which was Written by ancient men, for men, about men, from an anicent male perspective. But women were still in there, despite mans issues with giving women much credit.
@anotheronem Be clear, Christ is GOD in the flesh! He definitely defined who could lead or not in that He chose who He chose! Christ created ALL things and is in control of EVERYTHING! He DID NOT have to have a bible b/c He gave the inspiration of truth the bible records in the first place! So, what is it that God needs to be taught of mankind seeing as He became man to teach man how to live unto Him? This DOESN'T mean God omits women but, rather, He gave them their role!
@anotheronem You are correct in saying God IS NOT a respecter of persons in regard to God's call for ALL men to be saved and ALL to follow Him in spirit and in truth! However, the SAME Paul whose words you use to fit your stance is the SAME Paul that explained why women ARE NOT to be over the man! Re-read/understand his letters (namely 1 Cor. 14)! We MUST not allow how we feel we can do something better/more effectively obscure God's authority! This is still HIS...not ours!
1 Cor 14 is a disputed scripture based on the time frame and problems with Church of Corinth. ~ and biblical scholars MEN, not just women agree that is a subjective and disputed passage. not enough space on yt to debate the WHOLE bible. It has been well hashed out by others more qualified than us. Paul also highly recommended men be celibate and not marry. I suppose menshould adhere to that too?
@anotheronem What are not to be Paulists or anyone else...ists! ;O) We are of God through the example/sacrifice of Christ! However, it is rather unjust to use Paul's words to make a point and then say we are not of Paul...isn't it! Paul said be followers of him ONLY as he is a follower of Christ! Also, you have to understand WHY Paul gave his opinion on remaining celibate/unmarried! However, he plainly says this was HIS opinion and NOT of command by God! Study more...assume less!
Ah, but I have studied MORE and not less. I have studied extensively. Many of the edicts and so called commandments of Paul are NOT the ultimate authority over us.
Only Christ is the ultimate authority. We can read, study and take Pauls VERSION of being a Christian in the early Churches and give him credit for expanding the Church - yes.
However, how interesting that Paul - someone who never walked with Christ, is seen as a higher authority at times than Christ?!
@anotheronem If you are affirming that we ARE NOT to take heed to the apostles direction and sound reasoning/judgment in the Lord...that is indeed an interesting opinion! Why then use their words to attempt to prove your points then? One would think you wouldn't follow ANYTHING they said at all!
We do agree that Christ is the ultimate authority. Also, remember, Christ appeared to Paul and chose him to be His apostle particularly to the Gentiles. He has NO MORE authority than given him
Our problem is the autorcratic and abusive nature that permeates an all male clergy or cast. Many men (not all) have employed physical, emotional, verbal and SEXUAL abuse of others (mostly women and children or youth) to so call - TEACH? them their bible lessons?
NOW women can read the bible and have equality in our current society to become educated and have clout to NO longer put up with MEN who would FORCE their way or interpretation of God and the bible on the innocent of the world.
@anotheronem This seems to come more from angst toward these guilty men than it does from God-given authorization! Regardless of how or what else goes on around/to us, the goal is to maintain what God has ordained...even tho, at times, we cannot see nor agree with it! So long as YOU maintain what God has commanded of you, let HIM decide the fate/reward of others! We ALL shall stand before the judgment bar of Christ to give account! It depends on US if we sought to be obedient or not!
@anotheronem 2. The definition of apostle is simply a messenger and/or someone who is sent forth! We know that the 12 apostles had a intimate relationship with Christ having either walked with/or saw Him in person! However, outside of speaking specifically about those who were "hand picked" (as it were), you and I can be considered "apostles" as well seeing as we carry the gospel of Christ wherever we go and are sent by God to do His will! In like manner, we are also "priests" of God!
@anotheronem What do you mean? I don't see semantics! I see you having an ought against how mankind has corrupted God's truth yet you seem to be mad at God's truth as a result!
You minimized the word "apostle" and downgraded it. You and I can be considered apostles? But were those in the bible named apostles willy nilly. or is the title "apostle" to signify their deep following and observance ABOVE others for the truth.
Seems to me you men play word games to suit your fancy.
JUNIA is named "outstanding amoung apostles. Funny how although little is given credit to women in the bible, you men want to TAKE it all away with twisted words and notions.
The problem with the authorarian male approach to the most important of instructions for our moral and spiriual well being - is that is has NOT worked for the most part. Especially for women.
Although the bible is one of the great literatures of the world - men are relying on scriptures of ancient bronze age thoughts, written by men, for men, about men and from an ancient male perspective.
@anotheronem 3. Who has EVER denied that women were not involved in Jesus' ministry? I certainly have not said or ever would affirm this was not the case (seeing as it is plainly told us in the scripts)! However, be clear that the twelve chosen (amidst the abundance of women disciples) were MEN! Now, you can play the "men were cowards...etc." card as much as that makes you feel you have some sort of advantage all you want to! End of day, is this is GOD'S Kingdom...HIS rules!
By your definition then: If the apostles are just you and I? then I can preach and lead a church. Simple. I am a disciple of Christ, I repented and turned my life to Christ and have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I feed the poor, tend the sick. love God first, and my spouse, then my family and neighbours? I have not given up all I possess, but PARENTS should NOT have to be destitute to prove they love God.
Who says I am an apostle or a leader of Christ? MEN or CHRIST?
@anotheronem First off, that is not my definition but, rather, is the definition of what apostle means! Look it up to see for yourself! Secondly, NO the apostles in the strict sense of the 12/13 recorded in the bible are not YOU and I (and that should be pretty obvious...right?). However, in the true definition of the word, YOU and I are God's messengers; in the world but NOT of the world; examples of HIS (not our) righteousness!
Are apostles a term of respect and authority bestowed on only a few? or many or all?
Junia is mentioned as an apostle amoung apostles - Rm 16:7 Barnabas and Mattias are too? Will the real apostles stand up!
Scripture is something that esteemed scholars spend their lives studying and still 1900 years later - people are still arguing over content and context or translations and interpretations. And that is one of my POINTS!
@anotheronem Yes in the sense that ALL of God's family are messengers of His gospel in some form/fashion! Again, look up the word apostle to find what it means. For example, ALL of mankind are children of God...whether some believe or do not...seeing as ALL are created by Him. However, those who come to Him by faith are counted as His sons...right? Now, are we Jesus Christ the Son of God? Of course not! But there is a connection with created by, family of and Son of!
True! What it means to be a Christian and HOW we live to become more "Christ like" is what is critical.
Women are priests in the High Anglican Church, Canon Lawyers in the Catholic Church, pastors, ministers, and now Bishops.
Balance and harmony. Men and women. Male and female were created in OUR image. Gen 1. We should pay attention to the importance of both and the complimentary nature of male and female and not allow one or the other to OVERbear on another.
See, you are trying to skirt around the issue of women as leaders in the church, by saying we are all Gods messengers of His gospel in some form/fashion.
But......apostle - we are ALL apostles in Christ if we adhere to Christs message to us - each one of us with different gifts and talents. Christ was NOT just speaking to men in His ministry but men, women, the poor, the downtrodden, those ill, afflicted and he high and mighty. He spoke to ALL and said all could come to HIM.
@anotheronem I don't "skirt" around ANYTHING! I have shown you in the scripts how MEN were ordained as the leaders in God's government...and such has been the case from the beginning. It is unfair for you to try to use Paul's words against Paul and then when that doesn't work you disregard Paul's words! But in the end, one plants, another waters but it is God that gives the increase according to HIS will! I hope and will pray that God will continue to bless you accordingly!
Minister, apostle, deacon, servant of Christ etc. - male or female - Different "gifts of the spirit" but one who is aligned with Christ can teach and lead. John 14:6
So we (believers) are all evangelists and "ministers" in some way or form in ways - then there is not a restriction on male or female to minister: when, where, why, how or to whom we undertake our MINISTRY for Christ.
Gal 3:28 COULD be used in this case. ;) I am sure you will try to "explain" that verse too. ;)
@anotheronem So then, the word apostle was already a word BEFORE it was used in the scripts. It means messenger! God specifically chose 12 men to follow, learn and teach others of His will! These are the 12 apostles (13 take away Judas and add Matthias and Paul)! So, when we initially think of apostle we think of them - which is fine! However, this DOES NOT take away from ALL in Christ being His messengers! The 13 had a special/intimate sense but we ALL have a special duty unto Him!
@anotheronem Paul called Junia apostle in the strict sense of the word! A different example would be Christ calling Peter satan! Now, we know the devil is God's enemy (as is ours) right? But satan actually just means "adversary" (something against something else)! God is even called satan in one sense...but we'll get to that! Anwho, Christ WAS NOT saying that Peter was the devil/arch enemy of God but, rather, that he was going against what was righteous in trying to stop Jesus!
@iHymn75 you said. "Paul called Junia apostle in the strict sense of the word! A different example would be Christ calling Peter satan!"
Never heard that huge wrap around deflection from an person being HONOURED.
- with a statement from Jesus directed to ADMONISH Peter calling him SATAN? Wow, what possible motive would you have to make that comparison? Which is highly irregular and does not at all align with any remote explanation about JUNIA being named and apostle amoung apostles.
@anotheronem So, again, we've already covered who God's chosen 12/13 apostles were! Hopefully you see the application of how the word is used. Also, the main reason why folk are still debating the scripts to this day is b/c that's what the enemy of God wants and b/c man wants to run God rather than vice versa! Hence, my point concerning you (or anyone else)! We MUST NOT struggle against God's will but, rather, be content with submitting to Him and letting Him lead us
Deacon, evangelists, pastor, preacher, good news bearere, wisdom, the advocate, the Holy Ghost (the Holy Spirit), minister, reverend, father, teacher, church leader, priest, servant of Christ (seems to me, Paul used that one a lot). prophet, prophetess.
No one can claim difinitive authority as to what every single line of scripture exactly means. Men argue and debate it to this day. But the last 100 years women are in on this debate too.
@anotheronem Since, as you say, "No one can claim difinitive authority as to what every single line of scripture exactly means", I would suggest this is why Paul advised Timothy to study to show himself approved unto God!
σπουδαζω spoudazo spoo-dad'-zo
from 4710; to use speed, i.e. to make effort, be prompt or earnest:--do (give) diligence, be diligent (forward), endeavour, labour, study.
We should seek to RIGHTLY divide the scripts AND walk according to God's righteousness!
And WHO has authority and difinitive expression as to "rightly divide" the word of God. I have seen that passage and subsequent "interpretations" borrowing from totally separate scriptures to form some really absurd claims about God and the devil.
Fundamentalists for example. They take a passage from OT at random and mix it with NT and voila, some new obscure and absurd proclaimation about women being harlots and jezebels and whores if they don't abide by a MANS authority.
@anotheronem Also, there are arguments/debates as to who invent, say, mathematics too! However, I'm sure that NEVER stopped you from learning addition, subtraction, multiplication, geometry, algebra, calc, trig....etc. right? So long as you are lead by the Spirit of God, what prevents you from studying/following God's truth in the bible? We often look at the waves/storms of the sea and forget God is in control and is able to support us on unstable waters by being our solid foundation!
I am WELL read on scripture, studied on many books about religion, spirituality, Christ, following Christ, and so forth.
-secular, protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, and origins of bible or history of biblical times.
I know but a pittance, but my alignment with the Holy Spirit aids me the most when discerning passages of the bible and how they speak to me personally or as a whole.
But one CANNOT USE or ABUSE scripture into the form of worship or OVER and ABOVE Christs authority.
@anotheronem I've NEVER said you are NOT well ready on the scripts friend! I don't know you! I ONLY go by what you type! AND I think it is FABULOUS you give credit to the Holy Spirit as far as who you say leads you...MANY believers refuse to do that. I also, agree that Christ is the HIGHEST/FINAL authority...simple and plain! So NO debate on those issues friend! :)
God said in the beginning not to give a name or label to that entity.
God created male and female in OUR image. Gen 1
The nature of how HUMANS came into existence is highly debated according to science and all religions.
But FACT remains, women birth babies, women form babies in their wombs and birth them. Females are also capable of reproducing offspring without male sperm.
Time to stop and put the scriptures in perspective.
@anotheronem Where is it stated that YOU or ANY woman can preach/lead (basically Pastor) a church? Find that in record and I will come visit your church! It's not there anymore than the bible saying woman are to take a man's place as "head of the household"! That some women insist on being in control and/or are placed in certain positions (of breadwinner or single mother) DOES NOT omit/change/alter God's order of HIS government! You love God? Follow Him but submitting to HIS will!
@anotheronem I'm aware that Paul did not pen all of the epistles associated to him. If you say Jesus did not restrict the role/worth/authority of women, you must not be reading bible! You can't get passed Genesis w/o your stance being proven incorrect! I agree that Jesus denounced divorce...seeing as He created it in the first place! Did you mean that 2 Tim. has been questioned as not being written by Paul? And what does "Paul the apostle after the fact" mean or prove? You lost me there!
Genesis? best not to try to debate that in 500 words
Gen 1 makes sense. God created male and female LAST and in OUR image.
Gen 2 is out of ORDER of the first creation story by a huge mark. hint animals were created before HUMANS.
But what we do KNOW? Women BIRTH babies NOT MEN! ;) that stork whopper fable does NOT exist. Men had an agenda there. Adam's rib? females can clone offspring without male sperm. So we wonder who the real cocreator of life is? Think about that. ;)
@anotheronem Think about what? I understand Genesis! That you think it is apart of something other than what it is is your choice to do so! Don't see us having a spiritual dialog on this one so I'll pass.
@anotheronem What "experts"? Some think the ENTIRE bible is a myth book...do YOU believe them too? Just trying to understand your standpoint that's all! On one hand you use Paul's words yet on the other you dismiss them as just his opinion and/or as being spurious! That's confusing to me!
You say I must not be reading the bible? I always take that as an insult when it is obvious through my comments I have read the bible and know sufficient to debate on this matter. You do not know me, my knowledge base or my thoughts or life or observance as a Christian, yet most times men will throw that out or deflect or demean someones knowledge to not answer the questions I have posed or to consider possibilities.
@anotheronem When did I allude you must not be reading the bible? If I did so I apologize. Could you please re-post me saying this?
You're right I don't know you, or your knowledge base or your thoughts or life or observance as a Christian! I can ONLY go by what you type and HOPE/TRUST God is with/in you! There is NO profit in me deflecting/demeaning ANYONE let alone a sister in Christ or women in general...I don't get down like that! I measure "possibilities" by the truth of God!
Men and women team taught or women or men were leading in churches.
Rm 16. Phoebe is addressed first as a deacon, minister and not only commended for her WORK for the church, but Paul tells the others present to ASSIST her.
Romans 16 Paul is talking to church leaders gathered - men and women and commends them by name and for their contributions and encourages them to continue in leading others to the faith.
Women -Rm 16, Acts 2, 11, 16, 18 21, Luke 1 and 2, Col. 4 Phil 4
@anotheronem What is a deacon (in the strict/original sense of the word)? Again, are we not ALL servants of God? Anywho, what does Phoebe's service to the church have to do with her having/leading a church OR giving license to other women to be heads of churches? You've made no point here friend! Also, did you not know that there was a class or "number" of women who were supported by the church and who taught younger women how to carry themselves? Ooops...Paul wrote of that so be careful!
Priscilla and Aquilla team taught. Yes, Romans sanctions women as leaders of a Church.
You refuse to see it. Then ALL those men present are NOT leaders of the Church whom Paul addressed in Romans 16. Can't have it both ways. Either they were leaders in the early churches (which were HELD in their homes in secret). They were being persecuted so this was not held in open as much as one realizes at that time. These were secret churches. Hence symbolism of the fish and apostles marks etc.
Good to know you realize Paul is not the author of all the epistles. But I still respect Paul, the same way I respect Peter. In perspective.
Christ always being the authority then and now. Living today in us, those who believe.
The bible MUST be taken in perspective, or one would be stoning people or creating 30,000 diffferent Christian versions of Church. Oh, wait, men cannot agree, so that is exactly what happened.
We are not the first to debate scripture, doctrine, dogma. ;)
@anotheronem There is quite a bit of the bible that is NOT actually penned by those attributed to it. Christ has been, is and will ALWAYS be the authority of how we are to lead our lives to Him. Also, sinful division is NOT of God but is a result of people placing their desires, opinions and interests BEFORE His! Christ built ONE church upon the foundation of Him being the truth and saviour of the world! WE (not He) get this wrong rather than to seek what is right (in Him)!
Well you and otherse are denying women all their rightful roles in the Church.
Semantics are employed to get around the context of Christ's ministry to ALL.
So, yes, you are denying women as men of the past did.
And in doing so, we have lost a huge portion of what Christianity means and is. Now we are setting that balance right, but pendulum swings take time to counteract. In this case 6000 years of male dominance?
We do not want a feminine Church. We want a BALANCED church!
@anotheronem I'm NOT denying ANYONE anything seeing as it is NOT mine to deny! The people of God are GOD's...we belong to HIM not me! I don't get into the semantics game nor try to get around the content/context of Christ's ministry...there's just no fruitful profit in that at all! Women are limited to their respective roles by God alone concerning HIS family! HE is the BALANCE; He is the HEAD; He is the King! All come to the Father by Him...simple and plain.
@anotheronem 4. That doesn't even make sense! You're using an illogical fallacy: "Jesus told HER to go tell the others the good news. That makes Mary the FIRST PREACHER!". What you HAVE NOT proven is: 1) it was Jesus intent for Mary to be a preacher or just to relay a message TO THE BRETHREN (not other sisters)!; 2) who else Jesus appeared to BEFORE Mary and the others women came! When they arrived, Jesus was arisen! Where was He? We don't know so how can you decide Mary was first?
See, Mary is actually be all intents and purposes and definition of what a preacher really is - so we can either assume, presume, conjecture about those FACTS that are presented in that simple story.
For that is exactly what MEN do throughout the ages in discerning or interpreting the scriptures.
I am not an authority and am not saying my version is the only or correct version. However, Mary M. as the first preacher - is very plausible.
@anotheronem According to whom? What FACTS have YOU at all presented that state God was making Mary and evangelist by telling her to go tell the brethren His was arisen? Did He tell her to go and preach the gospel unto the world? Come now we MUST strive to be reasonable according to the Spirit/scripts of God! You believe it is plausible b/c you want to...not b/c it is! Again, where was Jesus between the time He arose and Mary saw Him (but didn't know who He was)? We don't know!
WHO is in charge of the scriptures and interpretation?
Scripture at times is SUBJECTIVE at times because we do NOT have all the facts presented.
Scripture in revelations is an absolute wild hallucinatory dream, that NO one can truly agree on today.
The OT has many laws that NO human should follow today.
So, who says? You or the Holy Spirit. Or do we approach the scripture as a WHOLE body of work of the jewish peoples journey in ancient days from darkness to the light of Christ?
@anotheronem GOD is in charge of HIS truth! 2Ti 3:16, "All scripture THAT IS GIVEN by inspiration of God...profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness..." Paul DID NOT say "ALL scripts..." but that those THAT ARE given by God! Peter said, "Knowing first, that NO PROPHECY of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came NOT in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God SPAKE AS THEY WERE MOVED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT"
@anotheronem Why do YOU affirm that, "Scripture in revelations is an absolute wild hallucinatory dream, that NO one can truly agree on today"? Are YOU maintaining that our brother John was hallucinating? WOW!
Anywho, we approach the scriptures as revealing God's plan of salvation for mankind through Christ! That plan of salvation IS NOT in man-made "steps" but, rather, IS Christ Himself! So, the point of the scripts is to learn to obey God's will and have life with Him!
@anotheronem 5. Pentecost - "And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias....That HE (one of the MEN NOT women) may take part of this ministry and apostleship...And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles".
So, come now friend....be real and be clear on what you say/understand! You CANNOT twist the scripts and fool me at all...nor is that necessary or at all profitable!
Re: Acts 2: " 18 In those days I will even pour out my Spirit on my slaves, men and women alike, and they will prophesy."
"30 .. Then you will receive the Holy Spirit as a gift." " 39 For this promise belongs to you and your children, as well as to all those who are distant, whom the Lord our God may call to himself.”
"40 ..That day about 3,000 people were added to their number."
@anotheronem You take Acts 2 out of context! Where is it said here that, "in the last days any/everyone will be able to lead the church of God"? It DOESN'T say this at all nor say that women will have equal right to Pastoring the flock! Women DO have equal right to Christ and His gift of everlasting life seeing as Christ died for ALL of humanity! However, this DOES NOT initiate women to omit there God given roles in life, respect to their husbands and in the kingdom of God!
@anotheronem Also, the bible says, Isa 2:2, "In the last days, the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains..." but is His household literally up in some mountains? Be willing to RIGHTLY discern what is meant by what you read BEFORE you take it to mean something it DOES NOT!
I did NOT refer to assigning of new apostles to their group at all. The Pentecost is the First outpouring of the Holy Spirit after Jesus resurrection. When Jesus left for the final time, he promised to send the advocate.
Acts 2 describes that defining moment for the believers.
@anotheronem I know the record of Luke concerning Acts 2...I'm just missing your point in the outpouring of the Spirit? God coming and indwelling believers of ALL sorts then DOES NOT justifying one's claim that ALL can do everything in God's kingdom equally! Not one jot of scripture (OTC/NTC) supports this claim! Just as the wife CANNOT overrule the lead of her husband (while yet being partners with him), women CANNOT overthrow God-given leadership of men in the church (whilst being heirs)!
@anotheronem 8. I agree w/ you that, "No one is SINNING when they READ the bible study to find TRUTHS about that time frame with aid of the Holy Spirit" for this is what we ALL should be CONTINUOUSLY doing! However, the sin comes into play when we rather lean unto our own understanding/direction/agenda than that of God! Also, God forbid ANYONE is to follow ANY man blindly! We ALL follow CHRIST within our respective roles in HIS (not our) Kingdom!
It is NOW necessary to bring equity to women's issues with God.
It has been PROVEN that MANY MEN SIN MORE when they have TOO much authority and privy to information of the vulnerable - the young boys and girls or women. Sex abuse with clergy (church leaders) in ALL denominations or religions. There are Sufficient men that have NOT abused their authority - this is not about them. Most times they are married btw. However, even married pastors screw up at times.
The pastors (the one in the video named Tony is a good example) Screaming and yelling invictives at people? telling women to NOT wear pants or they are sinning? bashing women as evil and the worst people because they came from Eve and caused sin. I have been called harlot and jezebel and the devil.
Know why? because I quote EXACT scripture to refute the premise of those ignorant screaming verbally abusive MEN. For they are NOT preachers when they act like screaming banshees to get attention.
I am well studied on the bible & know sufficient history of the biblical time frame, the growth and movement of the Christian Church. The varying denominations - AND the horrible TRACK record of MEN in sole leadership!
The OT is full of horrible atrocities against INNOCENT women and children. No man should USE the OT for any teaching tool other than to say what NOT to do in life. Very little is worth noting, other than to be appalled at the disgusting animalistic behaviour of men.
Song of Songs might be the only noteworthy book of the OT, or perhaps Ester? or the Book of Ruth.
There are bits and pieces of light in the OT, but it is extremely difficult to sift through God commanding men to rape, pillage, plunder, kill innocent women, children (and men). It is the Israelites HISTORY some of it oral tradition from 6000 years and more ago.
We must look at the NT for elightenment from Jesus. To the synoptic GOSPELS, but moreso to JESUS as living and present today.
@anotheronem Again, I don't know you or what you know in the bible and CAN ONLY assume things based on what you type here! God knows your heart and HE (not I or anyone else) will judge you accordingly. However, if/when/as you type something that is NOT in line with the scripts, I will respond to that accordingly! Not here to bash you or anyone else...I just strive to maintain the truth of God...just as, I'm sure, you intent is as well! Not chauvinist or feminist...just following Christ! ;O)
@anotheronem Interesting that Christ (who IS God) used the OTC to teach seeing as He (not I) said, "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me" and "these are the words which I spake unto you...that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me". How can one disregard the OTC when the NTC refers to it continuously? Understand the OTC, understand the NTC!
@anotheronem What men debate is what men debate! God is STILL God and His truth is still truth regardless of this!
Don't understand what you mean by "Christ ONLY refers to the coming of the Messiah"? Jesus the Messiah has already come, died and arisen! Next time it will be to judge us!
Again, as you do not believe the OTC you will keep having problems w/ the NTC! The NTC constantly refers to the prophecies given in the OTC! Can't get around that fact!
@anotheronem Oh, well I agree and have NEVER said different! He is the anointed holy One of Israel!
The ceremonial DEEDS of the OT are no longer needed toward justification in the spirit! They NEVER were meant to FULLY justify mankind anyway else there would have been no need for Christ! The Law was a schoolmaster to bring us to faith in Christ! That DOES NOT omit the truth of the Law! For even you have said the OT spoke of the Christ to come...that was/is TRUTH!
@anotheronem Again, if ALL truth of the Law were done away with, why are MANY of the books of the NTC written in an explanatory manner concerning the Law? Why explain the Law again to the Jewish nation? No...it was done so the Gentiles could understand certain aspects! This is why Philip had to help the Ethiopian eunuch UNDERSTAND the truth he was reading of Christ! This is why the gospel of God was/can be preached from the LAW AND PROPHETS!
@anotheronem One DOES NOT walk into walking anymore than he runs into running! When one has a certain UNDERSTANDING of the Law/Prophets, he then can better understand what was written in the NTC! To be like Christ is understanding WHY He is the way He is! That UNDERSTANDING can come from UNDERSTANDING what the Law and Prophets spoke of Him and how things came about! That is ALL I'm saying! Christ was Jewish (flesh)! UNDERSTANDING Jewish culture helps content/context of the scripts!
@anotheronem Even when Jesus came He was made to be UNDER the Law! Fact is, the Law covers the gospels up until Christ's death (MOST people don't/won't realize this)! This is why Christ told the men who brought the adulterous woman to Him, "ye w/o sin, cast the first stone"! He WOULD NOT dare break the Law but came to exemplify the perfection it demanded by COULD NOT usher in! ONLY He could do that! In saying this, He showed these men how hypocritical/contradictory they were!
The OT has caused more harms on people than any other book in history of humankind.
Men justified slavery, oppression of women, taking over countries and banishing indigenous peoples and stealing other peoples lands.
Men have been fighting arguing, physcially, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and socially about the meaning of the bible, the authority of the bible for almost 2000 years.
BUT, the battle for women preachers has been won.
And rightly and deservedly so. And won by people way more educated, learned and advanced than you or I about scripture and Gods direction.
We don't abide by fables. Adam did not birth babies. Women birth babies. Mans greed and controlling nature would NOT even allow women their own credit for cocreation of life. So it ends here. If you want to stay on that bronze age bent, go for it. Women are getting off and having a life and helping youth, women and men get on track.
1. Gen 1 male and female were created in OUR image, simultaneously. Animals came prior.
2. Gen 2 says Adam is in a barren land and alone? God provides animals for company? then a story of a rib? this was written centuries later btw and -- when fertility of women was HONOURED. Why are we to believe God created humans and women to birth babies, but the first human comes from a mans rib? and not a natural birth or a heavenly BIRTH for both of them? Very suspicious!
MEN are given the honour of cocreation and BIRTH of humans. Woman is downgraded and degraded and humiliated to be placed as the deceiver of humanity with the apple story and knowledge.
But HOW interesting that the deception Eve commits is to KNOW or have KNOWLEDGE.
To this day man never likes it when a woman knows more than him and I guess it was like that back then too. Sadly that stork fable has hurt women immeasurably in the past and some still get hurt in the present day.
Women are intelligent, caring, nurturing, strong, kind, physically and spiritually capable of leading people to the goodness of CHRIST.
Women are capable of conceiving and BIRTHING humans. ALL humans! So it is really weird that God says Adam "formed the woman from his rib" when all evidence shows that women form humans. WOMBan. Man comes from the WOMB of a WOMAN.
People were killed if they did not believe the MAN made story btw. Even with evidence above.
@anotheronem I agree, "Women are intelligent, caring, nurturing, strong, kind, physically and spiritually capable of leading people to the goodness of CHRIST" WITHIN THEIR RESPECTIVE ROLES/LIMITS BY GOD! Neither you or I can get around this friend! Men ARE NOT to take the role of women and vice versa! We could ALL work in harmony/unity except our own PRIDE...ironically the SAME vice the enemy used against mankind from the beginning!
If you and other MEN could see yourselves in the ONLY role of househusbands and fathers only, perhaps men will see the injustice to women for 1000's of years.
And many times in history women were beaten and oppressed and sometimes killed.
They could not do anything about it for the law/bible was on the MANS side.
There are many good men too.The marriages and societies that thrive: are where men and women are equal and they respect each other!! That is what JESUS wants!
@anotheronem No ma'am! I DID NOT say I restrict ANYTHING b/c that was NOT my authority to initiate! From the beginning GOD (who made ALL things through Christ) restricted women to their respective role! Eve was created to be Adam's helpmeet! He did NOT create woman first and then bring along a man for her; SHE was for HE! That you regard what happened as some myth/fable is not my fault or God's; that's your choice to believe or not to! Christ chose MEN to lead & women to help!
@anotheronem Who told Moses what to write in Genesis? How would he have known what happened? By folklore? That means you discredit Moses altogether! Peter reiterates how Sarah called Abraham "lord" (as in her leader/master)! Guess she was deluded to huh? (Whilst being called a mother of faith)!
So, again, I've never said women are restricted to being only a homemaker! You really should check those fallacies of yours!
@anotheronem Women make WONDERFUL teachers, leaders, and professionals of all fields! That IS NOT the issue at hand! Wives STILL must submit to their husband's authority and the husbands ARE NOT to Lord over them in an ungodly fashion; TOGETHER they strive for the goal pleasing God and HIS promise of life everlasting! Even single men/women are to submit their lives to God and respect one another accordingly! Can't get around this my friend! You can try but there's a reward for EVERYTHING!
@anotheronem Which sister in the Lord of scripture stood up and took the lead over the apostles? Please give me book, chapter and verse on that if you will! Why didn't they? B/c they UNDERSTOOD their roles in the Lord! They sought to please HIM not themselves!
Again, it seems you want to use the bible when it suits YOU but disregard it when the truth it speaks is NOT according to YOUR idea of liberty! Say/do as you choose to friend! Judgment will come to us ALL...then what?
Mary M - the gospel of MARY was purposely EXCLUDED from the bible, so some things we We will never know.
They did find the gospel of Mary and Thomas and more. So the bias of men did not reveal if MARY M was in the closed room when Jesus revealed himself to the disciples later that evening. But Jesus revealed himself first to MARY M and told HER to tell the others.
Women were present at the Pentecost. We do not know if Jesus sent out the 72 in couples of men and women etc.
@anotheronem You speak as if God cannot form whatever He wants from whatever He chooses?!! Pray tell, what did He created the earth from? The universe? Oh, and just how does one create light BEFORE the elements used to symbolize (dare I say produce) the light? Oh, that's right, God is ALL powerful! Funny how wo-men have NEVER omitted the men from this title! Lad-ies have never omitted the "lad" part! S-he still comes from "he"; he-r still has "he" in it; g-irl was first in some "guy"!
Man comes from a womans WOMB - to make a MAN. So perhaps you can figure out all the HIStorical naming of male and female. Remember it was MEN in charge of all that. So there will be severe bias.
Men wrote HIStory. Women were most times excluded other than here and there and we will NOT get into a treatise on that.
Find the FEMALE authors in the bible, or in biblical times. It is not that women are not capable, but they were oppressed into servitude of a man.
@anotheronem What is the world is a WOMBan? Where'd you get that? What is the "an" part? A woman didn't make man...God DID! God then made woman from that man! He could have made her from the same dirt but He chose to take her from man b/c of the unity/oness; flesh of flesh, bone of bone!
And men were in charge b/c that was part of God's plan!!! How do you not get this???!!! That men perverted this gift/authority DOES NOT omit it!
When men "conceive" and "grow" and "birth" babies, we will believe the adam's rib story. Until then, that stork fable just gets put with the whoppers, like babies grow under a cabbage patch.
Besidees. Gen 1 contradicts Gen 2.
God created male and female in OUR image. Simultaneously (supposedly). Animals, birds, sealife, was created LONG before humans.
But Adam is LONELY? then animals get created.? Then a woman out of his rib? Sorry, it does not compute.
@anotheronem Gen 1 contradicts Gen 2? Maybe it doesn't compute b/c of the way you view it! Again, I use mathematical analogies: what novice in understanding readily knows/agrees with algebra, geometry, calc or trig? It makes NO sense to them! Does this make these things wrong/bad? Of course not!
@anotheronem What in the world? Now you bring in cloning? That's your basis for all of this Adam/Eve stuff? What is the NATURAL course? God didn't clone anyone; nor did Adam/Eve clone the rest of us! Whatever your agenda is has blinded you from what you should be seeing here!
I mention cloning, because if God is all powerful, and created men and women, God knows that women can propcreate (with a little help) from more than one source.
This is something GOD already knows. Again, it is men who wrote the ancient thoughts about "procreation". God did not write it. It might be "inspired" but again, ancient men wrote it. So we can see the issues due to ancient men writing the bible.
Your word play is lame and is that to say YOU and MEN are superior? Well, JESUS message is that we are all equal.
But WOMEN were considered a form of indentured servants to men in biblical times. But prior to biblical times there were tribes with female heads - and they valued fertility in those communities.
So now we may have an inkling who "god" (men) were jealous of. ;)
Preach Pastor Tony!!! Amen!!!

MrThesheik 2 weeks ago
@MrThesheik
Junia is outstanding amoung apostles. Rm 16:7
barb554 3 days ago
@MrThesheik
You men keep dredging up some of Pauls words and the telling of women to be silent in the church is hotly debated as to context to this day.
1 or 2 Tim or not even authored by Paul. Some random guy is telling others restrictions about women.
Unless it comes from the MOUTH of JESUS we should NOT be worried about following customs or cultural concepts.
Gal 3:28 however, clears up gender issues if you insist on following Paul.
barb554 3 days ago
Yeah, the bible says in the last days the lord will pour out his spirit upon ALL flesh, BUT...that still doesn't say for women to preach. And NOWHERE in the bible does it say for a woman to preach. In all that we get,get understanding. For those that don't understand, pray for some

Wow he's preaching the truth in love and he's giving it out of the bible that's what I like he's showing it to you right out of the bible

Look in the churches now, all you see is plenty women and few men. Men are neglecting their roles as being the head of a household, so God has to use what he got.
deaconstaley 2 months ago

BishopBrown93 6 months ago
@BishopBrown93. the first one that proclaimed the resurrection was the angel that told the women that Jesus, whom they were seeking was not there. he was risen. An angel is a "messenger". The angel was sent to the tomb by God, the women went because Jewish women went to anoint the dead for burial, as a custom.

Then they will be wise to NOT follow MEN BLINDLY.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem 6. Again, who denies that the 70 other disciples Jesus sent may have been women? At the same time, you have to chalk it up to pure speculation though! That's beside the point! Luke 9:1-2 clearly states, "Then he called his twelve disciples (MEN)...gave them power/authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them (apostles...MEN) to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick". AFTER this He sent out 70 more! Whether men/woman doesn't support your stance!
iHymn75 9 months ago
@anotheronem 1. I readily/happily agree that these you mentioned had certain roles in the church as ministers/deaconesses! That is NOT my debate! We ALL are ADMINISTERS of Christ...even our children who believe! This DOES NOT mean God set women to rule EXACTLY as men do and we NEVER read of women rightfully Pastoring the flock! We ALL have our places/roles!

Thank you for the acknowledgement. But there is NOT definitive word or understanding of pastor in the bible.
There is no restriction on who can teach, other than one who has repented and turned their lives to Christ and can teach the gospel as Christ deemed.
Christ was no respector of persons. All could come ot HIM and all were worthy if they turned their lives to Him.
Women should not be seen as less than and most women can and do teach and lead well today.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem Elder, Pastor, Bishop, Presbytery and Shepherd ALL speak of the same office! Look up the Hebrew:
ra`ah raw-aw'
a primitive root; to tend a flock; i.e. pasture it; intransitively, to graze (literally or figuratively); generally to rule; by extension, to associate with (as a friend):--X break, companion, keep company with, devour, eat up, evil entreat, feed, use as a friend, make friendship with, herdman, keep (sheep)(-er), pastor, + shearing house, shepherd, wander, waste.
Hymn

@iHymn75 "devour, eat up"?
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem There are indeed restriction on who can teach...depending on what YOU mean by "teach"? To preach is to teach and the two mean the SAME thing! However, it is NOT given for women, in the confines of God's mandate for marriage and/or public worship, to be the lead...simple and plain! Both Paul/Peter speak of women being submissive unto their husbands as even unto God (and vice versa)! Let YOUR inner reverence for God be what makes YOU great/influential in Christ!
Hymn
iHymn75 9 months ago
Christ wanted all people to come to HIM. Christ did not define who could lead or not, other than he did ALLOW women in HIS ministry. Christ trusted women to hear and carry the gospel and he commended women sufficiently for their belief and faith.
Remember Christ did NOT have a bible.
Which was Written by ancient men, for men, about men, from an anicent male perspective. But women were still in there, despite mans issues with giving women much credit.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem Be clear, Christ is GOD in the flesh! He definitely defined who could lead or not in that He chose who He chose! Christ created ALL things and is in control of EVERYTHING! He DID NOT have to have a bible b/c He gave the inspiration of truth the bible records in the first place! So, what is it that God needs to be taught of mankind seeing as He became man to teach man how to live unto Him? This DOESN'T mean God omits women but, rather, He gave them their role!
Hymn
iHymn75 9 months ago
@anotheronem You are correct in saying God IS NOT a respecter of persons in regard to God's call for ALL men to be saved and ALL to follow Him in spirit and in truth! However, the SAME Paul whose words you use to fit your stance is the SAME Paul that explained why women ARE NOT to be over the man! Re-read/understand his letters (namely 1 Cor. 14)! We MUST not allow how we feel we can do something better/more effectively obscure God's authority! This is still HIS...not ours!
Hymn
iHymn75 9 months ago
We are NOT Paulists. We are CHRISTIANS.
For only Christ is the authority over us all.
I suppose menshould adhere to that too?
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem What are not to be Paulists or anyone else...ists! ;O) We are of God through the example/sacrifice of Christ! However, it is rather unjust to use Paul's words to make a point and then say we are not of Paul...isn't it! Paul said be followers of him ONLY as he is a follower of Christ! Also, you have to understand WHY Paul gave his opinion on remaining celibate/unmarried! However, he plainly says this was HIS opinion and NOT of command by God! Study more...assume less!
iHymn75 9 months ago
@iHymn75
However, how interesting that Paul - someone who never walked with Christ, is seen as a higher authority at times than Christ?!
anotheronem 9 months ago

NOW women can read the bible and have equality in our current society to become educated and have clout to NO longer put up with MEN who would FORCE their way or interpretation of God and the bible on the innocent of the world.
anotheronem 9 months ago

Seems to me you men play word games to suit your fancy.
JUNIA is named "outstanding amoung apostles. Funny how although little is given credit to women in the bible, you men want to TAKE it all away with twisted words and notions.
anotheronem 9 months ago
The problem with the authorarian male approach to the most important of instructions for our moral and spiriual well being - is that is has NOT worked for the most part. Especially for women.
Although the bible is one of the great literatures of the world - men are relying on scriptures of ancient bronze age thoughts, written by men, for men, about men and from an ancient male perspective.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem 3. Who has EVER denied that women were not involved in Jesus' ministry? I certainly have not said or ever would affirm this was not the case (seeing as it is plainly told us in the scripts)! However, be clear that the twelve chosen (amidst the abundance of women disciples) were MEN! Now, you can play the "men were cowards...etc." card as much as that makes you feel you have some sort of advantage all you want to! End of day, is this is GOD'S Kingdom...HIS rules!
iHymn75 9 months ago
By your definition then: If the apostles are just you and I? then I can preach and lead a church. Simple. I am a disciple of Christ, I repented and turned my life to Christ and have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I feed the poor, tend the sick. love God first, and my spouse, then my family and neighbours? I have not given up all I possess, but PARENTS should NOT have to be destitute to prove they love God.
Who says I am an apostle or a leader of Christ? MEN or CHRIST?
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem First off, that is not my definition but, rather, is the definition of what apostle means! Look it up to see for yourself! Secondly, NO the apostles in the strict sense of the 12/13 recorded in the bible are not YOU and I (and that should be pretty obvious...right?). However, in the true definition of the word, YOU and I are God's messengers; in the world but NOT of the world; examples of HIS (not our) righteousness!

Scripture is something that esteemed scholars spend their lives studying and still 1900 years later - people are still arguing over content and context or translations and interpretations. And that is one of my POINTS!
anotheronem 9 months ago

Blessings in Christ!
anotheronem 9 months ago
See, you are trying to skirt around the issue of women as leaders in the church, by saying we are all Gods messengers of His gospel in some form/fashion.
But......apostle - we are ALL apostles in Christ if we adhere to Christs message to us - each one of us with different gifts and talents. Christ was NOT just speaking to men in His ministry but men, women, the poor, the downtrodden, those ill, afflicted and he high and mighty. He spoke to ALL and said all could come to HIM.
anotheronem 9 months ago

Gal 3:28 COULD be used in this case. ;) I am sure you will try to "explain" that verse too. ;)
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem So then, the word apostle was already a word BEFORE it was used in the scripts. It means messenger! God specifically chose 12 men to follow, learn and teach others of His will! These are the 12 apostles (13 take away Judas and add Matthias and Paul)! So, when we initially think of apostle we think of them - which is fine! However, this DOES NOT take away from ALL in Christ being His messengers! The 13 had a special/intimate sense but we ALL have a special duty unto Him!
iHymn75 9 months ago
@anotheronem Paul called Junia apostle in the strict sense of the word! A different example would be Christ calling Peter satan! Now, we know the devil is God's enemy (as is ours) right? But satan actually just means "adversary" (something against something else)! God is even called satan in one sense...but we'll get to that! Anwho, Christ WAS NOT saying that Peter was the devil/arch enemy of God but, rather, that he was going against what was righteous in trying to stop Jesus!
iHymn75 9 months ago
@iHymn75 you said. "Paul called Junia apostle in the strict sense of the word! A different example would be Christ calling Peter satan!"
Never heard that huge wrap around deflection from an person being HONOURED.
- with a statement from Jesus directed to ADMONISH Peter calling him SATAN? Wow, what possible motive would you have to make that comparison? Which is highly irregular and does not at all align with any remote explanation about JUNIA being named and apostle amoung apostles.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem So, again, we've already covered who God's chosen 12/13 apostles were! Hopefully you see the application of how the word is used. Also, the main reason why folk are still debating the scripts to this day is b/c that's what the enemy of God wants and b/c man wants to run God rather than vice versa! Hence, my point concerning you (or anyone else)! We MUST NOT struggle against God's will but, rather, be content with submitting to Him and letting Him lead us

anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem Since, as you say, "No one can claim difinitive authority as to what every single line of scripture exactly means", I would suggest this is why Paul advised Timothy to study to show himself approved unto God!

Paul did NOT write all the epistles btw.
So we are either PAULISTS or CHRISTIANS.
No where, absolutely NO where will you find Jesus restricting the role or worth or authority of a woman. He in fact encouraged women in all ways.
He also denounced divorce - as a way to say no more plural wives.
Find where JESUS says those things and you might have a point. For 1 Tim was NOT even written by an "apostle" (Paul the apostle - after the fact).
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem I'm aware that Paul did not pen all of the epistles associated to him. If you say Jesus did not restrict the role/worth/authority of women, you must not be reading bible! You can't get passed Genesis w/o your stance being proven incorrect! I agree that Jesus denounced divorce...seeing as He created it in the first place! Did you mean that 2 Tim. has been questioned as not being written by Paul? And what does "Paul the apostle after the fact" mean or prove? You lost me there!
iHymn75 9 months ago
Genesis? best not to try to debate that in 500 words
Think about that. ;)

4 Phil 4
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem What is a deacon (in the strict/original sense of the word)? Again, are we not ALL servants of God? Anywho, what does Phoebe's service to the church have to do with her having/leading a church OR giving license to other women to be heads of churches? You've made no point here friend! Also, did you not know that there was a class or "number" of women who were supported by the church and who taught younger women how to carry themselves? Ooops...Paul wrote of that so be careful!
iHymn75 9 months ago
Priscilla and Aquilla team taught. Yes, Romans sanctions women as leaders of a Church.
You refuse to see it. Then ALL those men present are NOT leaders of the Church whom Paul addressed in Romans 16. Can't have it both ways. Either they were leaders in the early churches (which were HELD in their homes in secret). They were being persecuted so this was not held in open as much as one realizes at that time. These were secret churches. Hence symbolism of the fish and apostles marks etc.

We are not the first to debate scripture, doctrine, dogma. ;)
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem There is quite a bit of the bible that is NOT actually penned by those attributed to it. Christ has been, is and will ALWAYS be the authority of how we are to lead our lives to Him. And in doing so, we have lost a huge portion of what Christianity means and is. Now we are setting that balance right, but pendulum swings take time to counteract. In this case 6000 years of male dominance?
We do not want a feminine Church. We want a BALANCED church!

@anotheronem 4. That doesn't even make sense! You're using an illogical fallacy: "Jesus told HER to go tell the others the good news. That makes Mary the FIRST PREACHER!". When they arrived, Jesus was arisen! Where was He? We don't know so how can you decide Mary was first?
iHymn75 9 months ago

See, Mary is actually be all intents and purposes and definition of what a preacher really is - so we can either assume, presume, conjecture about those FACTS that are presented in that simple story.
For that is exactly what MEN do throughout the ages in discerning or interpreting the scriptures.
I am not an authority and am not saying my version is the only or correct version. However, Mary M. as the first preacher - is very plausible.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem According to whom? What FACTS have YOU at all presented that state God was making Mary and evangelist by telling her to go tell the brethren His was arisen? Did He tell her to go and preach the gospel unto the world? Come now we MUST strive to be reasonable according to the Spirit/scripts of God! You believe it is plausible b/c you want to...not b/c it is! Again, where was Jesus between the time He arose and Mary saw Him (but didn't know who He was)? We don't know!

The OT has many laws that NO human should follow today.
So, who says? You or the Holy Spirit. Or do we approach the scripture as a WHOLE body of work of the jewish peoples journey in ancient days from darkness to the light of Christ?
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem GOD is in charge of HIS truth! 2Ti 3:16, "All scripture THAT IS GIVEN by inspiration of God...profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness..." Paul DID NOT say "ALL scripts..." but that those THAT ARE given by God! Peter said, "Knowing first, that NO PROPHECY of the scripture is of any private interpretation. iHymn75 9 months ago

@anotheronem You take Acts 2 out of context! Where is it said here that, "in the last days any/everyone will be able to lead the church of God"? I did NOT refer to assigning of new apostles to their group at all. The Pentecost is the First outpouring of the Holy Spirit after Jesus resurrection. When Jesus left for the final time, he promised to send the advocate.
Acts 2 describes that defining moment for the believers.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem I know the record of Luke concerning Acts 2...I'm just missing your point in the outpouring of the Spirit? God coming and indwelling believers of ALL sorts then DOES NOT justifying one's claim that ALL can do everything in God's kingdom equally! Not one jot of scripture (OTC/NTC) supports this claim! Just as the wife CANNOT overrule the lead of her husband (while yet being partners with him), women CANNOT overthrow God-given leadership of men in the church (whilst being heirs)!
iHymn75 9 months ago
@anotheronem 8. I agree w/ you that, "No one is SINNING when they READ the bible study to find TRUTHS about that time frame with aid of the Holy Spirit" for this is what we ALL should be CONTINUOUSLY doing! However, the sin comes into play when we rather lean unto our own understanding/direction/agenda than that of God! Also, God forbid ANYONE is to follow ANY man blindly! We ALL follow CHRIST within our respective roles in HIS (not our) Kingdom!
Have a great day.

However, even married pastors screw up at times.
anotheronem 9 months ago
The pastors (the one in the video named Tony is a good example) Screaming and yelling invictives at people? telling women to NOT wear pants or they are sinning? bashing women as evil and the worst people because they came from Eve and caused sin. I have been called harlot and jezebel and the devil.
Know why? because I quote EXACT scripture to refute the premise of those ignorant screaming verbally abusive MEN. For they are NOT preachers when they act like screaming banshees to get attention.
anotheronem 9 months ago
I am well studied on the bible & know sufficient history of the biblical time frame, the growth and movement of the Christian Church. The varying denominations - AND the horrible TRACK record of MEN in sole leadership!
The OT is full of horrible atrocities against INNOCENT women and children. No man should USE the OT for any teaching tool other than to say what NOT to do in life. Very little is worth noting, other than to be appalled at the disgusting animalistic behaviour of men.
anotheronem 9 months ago
Song of Songs might be the only noteworthy book of the OT, or perhaps Ester? or the Book of Ruth.
There are bits and pieces of light in the OT, but it is extremely difficult to sift through God commanding men to rape, pillage, plunder, kill innocent women, children (and men). It is the Israelites HISTORY some of it oral tradition from 6000 years and more ago.
We must look at the NT for elightenment from Jesus. To the synoptic GOSPELS, but moreso to JESUS as living and present today.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem Again, I don't know you or what you know in the bible and CAN ONLY assume things based on what you type here! God knows your heart and HE (not I or anyone else) will judge you accordingly. However, if/when/as you type something that is NOT in line with the scripts, I will respond to that accordingly! Not here to bash you or anyone else...I just strive to maintain the truth of God...just as, I'm sure, you intent is as well! Not chauvinist or feminist...just following Christ! ;O)
iHymn75 9 months ago
@anotheronem Interesting that Christ (who IS God) used the OTC to teach seeing as He (not I) said, "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me" and "these are the words which I spake unto you...that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me". How can one disregard the OTC when the NTC refers to it continuously? Understand the OTC, understand the NTC!
iHymn75 9 months ago
@iHymn75
Christ ONLY refers to the coming of the Messiah. Otherwise you would be stoning people and cutting off hands today.
The OT having been written about 3500 years ago. Ancient manuscripts, with errors and mens fables (adams rib) mixed with real exploits?
We can discern and follow the spirit of Jesus in the NT, but cannot take the whole bible literally. And MEN have been debating this for centuries.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem What men debate is what men debate! God is STILL God and His truth is still truth regardless of this!
Don't understand what you mean by "Christ ONLY refers to the coming of the Messiah"? Jesus the Messiah has already come, died and arisen! Next time it will be to judge us!
Again, as you do not believe the OTC you will keep having problems w/ the NTC! The NTC constantly refers to the prophecies given in the OTC! Can't get around that fact!
Hymn
iHymn75 9 months ago
@iHymn75
Christ REFERS to his being the Messiah as being foretold in the old scriptures. That is what I meant.
But once Christ comes, dies and is resurrected, the OLD is NOT longer necessary. For the NEW has begun.
Problem: men are stubborn and could not let go of the old.
The OLD TESTAMENT has NO place today other than for the Jewish peoples historical records in their manners. Otherwise we are part Jewish.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem Oh, well I agree and have NEVER said different! He is the anointed holy One of Israel!
The ceremonial DEEDS of the OT are no longer needed toward justification in the spirit! They NEVER were meant to FULLY justify mankind anyway else there would have been no need for Christ! The Law was a schoolmaster to bring us to faith in Christ! That DOES NOT omit the truth of the Law! For even you have said the OT spoke of the Christ to come...that was/is TRUTH!
iHymn75 9 months ago
@anotheronem Again, if ALL truth of the Law were done away with, why are MANY of the books of the NTC written in an explanatory manner concerning the Law? Why explain the Law again to the Jewish nation? No...it was done so the Gentiles could understand certain aspects! This is why Philip had to help the Ethiopian eunuch UNDERSTAND the truth he was reading of Christ! This is why the gospel of God was/can be preached from the LAW AND PROPHETS!
Hymn
iHymn75 9 months ago
@anotheronem One DOES NOT walk into walking anymore than he runs into running! When one has a certain UNDERSTANDING of the Law/Prophets, he then can better understand what was written in the NTC! To be like Christ is understanding WHY He is the way He is! That UNDERSTANDING can come from UNDERSTANDING what the Law and Prophets spoke of Him and how things came about! That is ALL I'm saying! Christ was Jewish (flesh)! UNDERSTANDING Jewish culture helps content/context of the scripts!
Hymn
iHymn75 9 months ago
@anotheronem Even when Jesus came He was made to be UNDER the Law! Fact is, the Law covers the gospels up until Christ's death (MOST people don't/won't realize this)! This is why Christ told the men who brought the adulterous woman to Him, "ye w/o sin, cast the first stone"! He WOULD NOT dare break the Law but came to exemplify the perfection it demanded by COULD NOT usher in! ONLY He could do that! In saying this, He showed these men how hypocritical/contradictory they were!
Hymn
iHymn75 9 months ago
@iHymn75
What LAWS do we follow from the OT?
Stoning people to death. Men raping and then forcing the victim to marry them?
Cutting off hands - yes that too, somewhere.
Don't eat pork or shellfish - that also brings death as punishment. Either Lev. or Deut. 20 maybe somewhere. I can't look it up right now.
So, which LAWS do YOU follow or WHICH LAWS is Jesus referrring to?
Jesus is referring to him being the MESSIAH. Jesus overturns sufficient things ie divorce, stoning etc.
anotheronem 9 months ago
The OT has caused more harms on people than any other book in history of humankind.
Men justified slavery, oppression of women, taking over countries and banishing indigenous peoples and stealing other peoples lands.
Men have been fighting arguing, physcially, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and socially about the meaning of the bible, the authority of the bible for almost 2000 years.
BUT, the battle for women preachers has been won.
anotheronem 9 months ago
And rightly and deservedly so. And won by people way more educated, learned and advanced than you or I about scripture and Gods direction.
We don't abide by fables. Adam did not birth babies. Women birth babies. Mans greed and controlling nature would NOT even allow women their own credit for cocreation of life. So it ends here. If you want to stay on that bronze age bent, go for it. Women are getting off and having a life and helping youth, women and men get on track.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem Right...who's into fables? What does that profit spiritually? Nothing.
Adam birthing babies? Where'd YOU get that from?
Hymn
iHymn75 9 months ago
@iHymn75
The Israelites told their stories ORALLY for 1000's of years based on their bronze age understandings.
Those stories were not written down for 1000's of years and when they were, they were a composite of fable and truths.
No different than if we believe native fables about animals with spirits.
JESUS message was written over a century later - and not read by majority of people for centuries. It was transmitted WORD of MOUTH.
anotheronem 9 months ago
Very suspicious!
anotheronem 9 months ago
MEN are given the honour of cocreation and BIRTH of humans. Woman is downgraded and degraded and humiliated to be placed as the deceiver of humanity with the apple story and knowledge.
But HOW interesting that the deception Eve commits is to KNOW or have KNOWLEDGE.
To this day man never likes it when a woman knows more than him and I guess it was like that back then too. Sadly that stork fable has hurt women immeasurably in the past and some still get hurt in the present day.
anotheronem 9 months ago

@iHymn75
Sorry, I missed this post saying that you restrict women to certain roles.
God again - really? God says? or did MAN say.
Did JESUS say any such thing? NO!
When women got educated, study (and not through only their husbands views) wow!
We now have female; doctors, lawyers, scientific researchers, government officals, leaders and professors and brain surgeons astronauts.
What is the RESTRICED/LIMITED role you and men decided for women? HOMEMAKER ONLY!
anotheronem 9 months ago

WOMBan. WOMan.

@iHymn75 I guess you are NOT up to date on cloning.
Females can be cloned from their OWN dna. No male sperm required.
Sheep, cows, dogs, cats, etc, have been cloned from females.
And Dolly the Sheep went on to mate and have real normal lambs.
But, we don't want to start that with women.
However, it is very interesting that science has proven that WOMEN can create LIFE from their "bone dna" and do not require a man.
Adam and Eve story, looking weaker all the time.
anotheronem 9 months ago
@anotheronem What in the world? Now you bring in cloning? That's your basis for all of this Adam/Eve stuff? What is the NATURAL course? God didn't clone anyone; nor did Adam/Eve clone the rest of us! Whatever your agenda is has blinded you from what you should be seeing here!
Hymn
iHymn75 9 months ago
@iHymn75
So we can see the issues due to ancient men writing the bible.
anotheronem 9 months ago
Your word play is lame and is that to say YOU and MEN are superior? Well, JESUS message is that we are all equal.
But WOMEN were considered a form of indentured servants to men in biblical times. But prior to biblical times there were tribes with female heads - and they valued fertility in those communities.
So now we may have an inkling who "god" (men) were jealous of. ;)
