THis is definately real. Mine sounded the same way. He said, " Where's the kitty. I'm a pretty boy, and he meowed like the cat.' We never knew this until we were eating dinner and heard a cat meow, but there was no cat just our bird. LOL, you have to listen good to hear what they are saying. I love these birds. They can be very sweet and gentle if raised nicely.

Mine bit me as hard as it could the first time that I picked it up, and I submitted to the pain, since the opposite reaction would teach the bird that biting me will make me let go of it. It didnt break the skin, but it hurt! Dont flinch and don't hold onto a bird tightly as it wont be able to breathe.

I'm surprised you'ld have many talking budgies at the vet. Pippin talked like crazy the first time he went to the vet (before he knew what would happen to him), but ever since then he's remembered the vet office and goes silent as soon as I take him in.

I've figured out that mytube doesn't like it because the audio is not MP3. It sounds ok, just the sound is delayed a second or so.

But because I work there I've had plenty of opportunities to meet some talking budgies outside of work, in my opinion your little Pippin sounds just like them. Anyways, I believe that the video IS real. Well, I've attempted to comment on you who think it is fake but so far comments haven't shown. The original video plays correctly on my computer but when I view in on youtube, the audio is delayed slightly (much more noticable on another of my videos).

Pippin talks like this literally hours a day sometimes.

THIS VIDEO *IS* FAKE! The voice is out of synch with the budgie's movements: during the seconds of 16-18 and 29-32 the bird's movements indicate that it is making noises, but we don't hear anything. The most obvious mistake is during 32-24, where the bird is silent, surprised that someone in front of him is saying "I can talk!" (I have a budgie at home.)

His voice is really very typical for a budgie. I've heard budgies that talk much better than him; Pippin is just average for a single male budgie that gets enough attention and training.

If you are smart enough you'll know that birds don't have lips like humans have. When budgies are talking they pretty much don't move their beak.
