  • Textures is one of the few bands that deserve the Nuclear Blast promotion

  • Mother of REPEAT!!!

  • Mother of REPEAT!!!

  • video reminds me of assassins creed with all those white lines on the mountains

  • I stumbled into this song ..

  • very important to have three or four good pieces in an album. They are also valid for this album.

  • offf offff..

  • If I were in the band Textures I'd be fucking pissed with this video lol. It's very well produced and nice but it's just showing the singer being cool. Textures has 6 members not just one... that's always what I disliked about most metal and rock videos...it's all about the vocalist..

  • @MrPranksteer The vocalist is usually the front man for the band, the main focus. I agree they should get more recognition, but when most people watch a music video, usually the vocalist is the one they pay the most attention to.

  • @MrPranksteer It's hard to push a drumset across a Mediterranean landscape, with guitar/bass amps and such to haul around. I'm sure the video was agreed upon by the whole band. No decision is made alone in a band, otherwise the band would have fell apart a long time ago. Besides, maybe that wasn't the message of the video?

  • @Wickednessthehippie I agree. But I still don't want to jump in the bandwagon of the whole "Leader singer + the other members" idea. For example look at the video "Awake".Although I see your point there with the instruments and the difficulty of caring them across a Mediterranean landscape would've been hard. But they didn't have to play instruments in the video. Could've been cooler if all the band members stared in the video and just walked around like Daniel hah.

  • @MrPranksteer Lol it all depends on what each individual is able to compromise with. Maybe some members don't want to be in the video? Maybe it would start rumors if only certain members of the band were in the video and not the rest. It makes more sense to the masses if the frontman is the representative in the band's commercialism. Besides, if the whole band was walking together in every video, they would be the Bee Gees. Checkmate.

  • @Wickednessthehippie The last part of your comment made my day. I actually lol'd in front of my pc. Checkmate indeed, I got no comeback on this one haha. Peace mate!

  • The song is epic and the video is epic!

  • Djent!

  • What I can say is creativity leads to the satisfaction of the soul from inner self..

  • oh yeahh !

  • Dear God... that melody... that feeling... DAT 1080P!

    I'm in love...

  • For the stupid people that say "this sound like pop" or similar shit, first buy the entire album, listen to it and after that, go fuck yourself, because Textures is getting better and better, just because they have some songs more related to feeling that can not be expressed by growling it doesn't mean that they are getting pop, stupid assholes! Thank you guys for this song!

  • Sounds like a pops band!

  • All the landscapes look like a Magic the gathering card :P

  • @Brandon75689 Too bad I'm a mountain guy. Most of those would fit plains or islands.

  • the intro reminds me of whenever u go too far from the boundries in assassins creed. fuckin' epic hahha love the music!

  • i started to listen this band 30min ago.... Epic band is EPIC

  • I understand the die hard metal fans are disappointed with this change in texture's sound, but don't see this as death to a great band. They're not playing music to please you. They playing music and creating to get the feelings that can't be explained through simple speech across and understood to the fans who truly appreciate them. They may be a metal band, but they're just as human as you are. Not every feeling they will express will be growled with primal fury.

  • @Wickednessthehippie Actually the sound didn't even change too much... Awake was a similiar song and the rest of the material of this album is still some heavy shit.

  • @tehpeasant But its a slight difference...and some people react to those slight differences like an autistic kid in a multicolored house.

  • @Wickednessthehippie I think what they have moved into is as good, or better :)

  • @Wickednessthehippie Truer words have never been spoken. For me, Daniel's voice will take some getting used to, since Eric was just mind-blowing. However, if changes are like these, I won't mind at all. Loving the melody~

Being in a band myself, I know what they were probably thinking, and before trying to please any of the fans, we first try to make something that will satisfy us, otherwise it's scrapped.

  • @artcellrox Being selfish is what makes a band great. If I'm not satisfied with what I am creating for the public, then who am I to call myself an entertainer? The greatest musicians amuse themselves before they can amaze their peers.

  • @Wickednessthehippie dude....you are great.

  • @Wickednessthehippie Very true, and I've always found this song as a great example that there is more to us metal fans than the growls and such we can be deep in many ways, that's one of the greatest things of our genre :)

  • @Wickednessthehippie What? THIS IS SPARTAAAAAA

  • @Wickednessthehippie Very well put

  • Even a man who fights the cold ♫♫♫

Fears the depths of his own soul ♫♫♫

  • Conchetumare que amo esta canción por las re mil putas!!

  • This song... damn, it's so "intemporal", surely in some years from now it will be on history, the song is Fantastic! \m/

  • beautiful ♥

  • hash....textures... Netherlands must be heaven!!!

  • These are the real creators!

  • Great song, love Daniels voice, his versatility and technical skill. Judging from the video, it looks the guy is getting fitter too :D

  • nice song.... It seems like I m beginning to like Textures....

  • AWESOME

  • This music has a way of opening the sleepy parts of the brain to widen the dimensions of visible space to the average mind. Briliant work!

  • Best Dutch band around, in any genre, what genius!

  • lilbit djent

  • I'm going to have to re-listen to Dualism, I didn't care for it all to much although I really enjoyed Black Horses Stampede but this has nothing to do with the new vocalist because Deranged Headtrip by his old band Cilice was amazing. Personally I feel Silhouettes was Textures' best album to date. Everyone chck out Cilice if you haven't already.

  • Beautiful song. Thank you!

  • great

  • Waiting, waiting, I have been flowing since I was a boy............

  • amazing music! very unique, You guys have to keep up the good work!

  • New vocal?

  • Comment removed

  • Perfect!!!

  • Perfect!!!

  • great vocals! realized that djent is much better with nice vocals without growls

  • Great song, great vocal and guitar harmonies.

  • One of the few things i'm happy about being dutch!

  • @ROELXIV SAME HERE :D haha

  • @ROELXIV What, you don't like the free weed and hot girls everywhere? XD

  • @artcellrox The weed is not free. It's legal... But still very expensive and most girls are hot... But 9 out of 10 don't have any brains... :3

  • @ROELXIV Well... that's a bummer. :/

As for the girls, at least that makes them easy prey for anyone looking to get laid. XD

  • Excellent! Fantastic sound! Is it just me, or would that craggy rock look wonderful in a saltwater tank? I'm pretty sure it would look awesome in my two tanks!

  • I´m in pieces...amazing music with great video...symbiosis! good job, dutch boys!

  • I love how only two people have dared to use the "d-word". Makes me happy to see so many people have grown out of their childish habits.

  • @masterd000 wwwwwwwow that was a one-sided statement. Cursing is an every day occurrence. It may not be accepted by all, but it's part of all forms of human language. People who take offense to cursing are just idiotic. It's not childish; Most adults try to stop their children from cursing. It's a very ADULT thing. Maybe you need a reality check. Seeing as how you posted this on a video of a band full of guys who curse all the time.

  • @Mahoneyisamazing I think he means Djent ^^ since everything seems to be classified as djent these days when its not really at all.

  • @Mahoneyisamazing Dude, fuck this motherfucking piece of cowshit. Who said this bitch was talking about CURSING? ;)

  • The sound is still in mono. It really doesn't give a good picture of the production, which by the way is pretty damn good.

  • Just seen them tonight with The Ocean. Incredible is the only word to describe what took place on that stage.

  • Holland 4 life

  • Its a great song with a more soft atmosphere and perfect vocals.

    I loved it!

  • Just saw these guys live, but unfortunately they didn't get to play this song since they broke a snare during the opening song - silly sausages!

  • The chord changes are mediocre at best... Not the quality I expected from Textures, almost uninspired. Luckily the other songs on the new album are better.

  • Interesting....Polars is by far my favorite album of theirs.....but I find myself listening to this new one more and more each day. Nicely done Textures!

  • but i'm glad you're gonna keep open ears to the album and hopefully their future music too!

  • ya, i hear what you're saying. when meaning punks i mean all the people who seem to take this song as "textures new direction" as if it represents every song on their new album. overall i liked Eric more yeah, but Daniel is really also an incredible vocalist with some very inspiring lyrics too. it's mostly in response to the mass of people that seem to want textures to be meshuggah, based on songs like laments of icarus etc.. which are great but textures has always had a softer side, ie: upwards

  • Vanavond bij DWDD, fijn, jammer dat het maar een minuutje is!

  • Too easy and too soft song...

  • Where was this video filmed???

I want to go there for a walk.

  • Succes bij de wereld draait door morgen, guys. tof.

  • Only 69 608 views? :-O

  • Beautifull landscape!

  • Vocals are a bit weak compared to the previous vocalist, but guitars and drums are incredible. The intro is amazing.

  • Dig it majorly, really interesting stuff from these dudes right here

  • First time i heard this i did NOT like it what so ever but now im trying to show as many people as possible hahaha it grew on me what a great band and great song!

  • Zag een stukje over jullie in de VK en werd wel benieuwd, vandaar dat ik nu luister. Klinkt best aardig :)

  • Hi Daan, you did an amazing job with this band and vid. Gogogo conquer the world. Hope you all have an endless great time and less worries :-)) With love from Sassenheim Holland

  • Heeuuuuj etten-leur xD

  • Stunning music video, but most times I just lie back, close my eyes and drink it in. It never fails to make me emotional. I love technicality in bands, don't get me wrong, but this song is just absolutely beautiful for what it is. Brings back memories.

  • This new vocalist looks like an Indian. One of those whiter indians, either a Punjabi or one of the Brahmin caste. or at least one of the Indian ethnic groups most closely related to the Indo-Aryans and Dravidians who invaded the subcontinent through the Khyber Pass about 4000 years ago

  • @Kw1q51lv3r point?

  • So excited to see these guys with The Ocean and Aliases!

  • @thesubliminalhorizon i agree with you on the musicians getting this band more so than others... but I am a metal head and i have just recently started really listening to this band and I find them to be absolutely amazing. And where I may be a metal head, I am not an elitist and listen to a TON of different music. But I see your point and either way, this shit is awesome!

  • Typical Textures!

  • Seen these guys in Richmond Virginia at The Kingdom. Great band I really like their Drawing Circles and Silhouettes more but Dualism is a great record none the less

  • Wow... great stuff... The intro reminds of Fates Warning ;)

  • This is one of the very few music videos I constantly find myself coming back to simply because of its sheer beauty and how unbelievably well it suits the music.

  • Love his voice!!!!!!

  • why the fuck is that so goddamn long I've listened to it to the end and I'm goddamn bored

  • he seems to have copied bjorks joga

  • Great song, great album. Could be on a Karnivool album, and that's saying a lot!

  • Hit the replay button and you will like it even more.

  • across the sun + textures= epic

  • They can so brutal , so groovy, so epic, now ....they become so sweet .....!!!!

  • No Thanx. I better listen to meshuggah

  • I will love this song still in hell!

  • amazing fucking great song and better album!

  • uma das melhores bandas da atualidade!

  • the intro reminds me of the song the last time by chromium :)

sick tune, gonna show my band this, i want our sound to be like these guys

  • I'm definitely buying this album tonight. Looked in best buy, but of course its not there. Time to resort to amazon...

Check our debut album on our channel and let us know what you think!

  • This band is one of the few that has amazing music videos. AND amazing music.

  • fucking awesome

  • This is already a classic. But I can't help feeling that the voice track is somehow weirdly combined with the music. It seems like the voice track is put into straight from the mic without any post-processing. idk

  • @dooshahn Yeah, I got the same feeling.. I mean, some reverb especially in this kind of music, would make it more epic, and give the songs a better atmosphere... like in Messengers

  • Seeing these guys live was such an amazing experience.Right before them was The Contortionist and after them was The Human Abstract followed by Periphery.Such a crazy ass day filled with such amazing bands!

  • Amazing music video, and the chorus is to catchy ...gets stuck in my head way to much

  • 2:16-3:16 How stunning is that part?

  • This song is deeply beautiful and powerful!

  • Me gustó mucho el video, gracias a mi Caballero conocí la música de esta banda :)

  • amazing

  • this song is kinda deftonish :D ... love this album !

  • @matjaniec yeah i got a deftones-ish feel from some of the songs on this album too. i quite like it :)

  • oh wow!

  • Fuck this, man. I try to watch a Textures video, and what do I get? A Jason Derulo advert. NO I DO NOT WANT TO FUCKING BUY HIS ALBUM FOR 9.99 AT PARTICPATING STORES!

  • I miss Pieter....the very first singer and a good friend of mine. I miss his venom in the songs.

  • i feel like musicians who like textures are far more likely to appreciate textures no matter what they're songs sound like. they're in it for the music and embrace a larger spectrum of the music, not some metal fan that's in it for one song, one album or one sound. what band, or what thing in general for that matter is so one-dimensional? bands are dynamic and change like the ocean crashing against rock, constant evolution. punks don't get it, it's not a fad to follow, it's a passion.

  • @thesubliminalhorizon I honestly can't like this comment enough. For me, Textures are a true "musicians" band, and by that I mean they're a band brimming with talent and musical maturity. They experiment and write what they feel creatively inspired by, regardless of what others might think, while still retaining all the elements that define their sound. That to me is a real example of true talent and musical creativity.

I'm simply a music fan, and Textures make fantastic music.

  • @thesubliminalhorizon Totally agree with you. True musicians are, as you said, in constant evolution, and that's amazing. Now, if a bands sound changed to worst, than it sucks... not evolution then...

  • @thesubliminalhorizon yeah man, its just sad. So many good bands have had to stop because the 'fad' suddenly changed. Entire genres have more or less die out.

  • @thesubliminalhorizon I know exactly what you mean.

Like the hardcore kids who don't play instruments but slamdance like queers.

  • @thesubliminalhorizon Well good for you if you like it, but I heard of Textures a few years ago and I'm disappointed to hear this new song. The new singer isn't capable of singing cleanly half as well as the last one, and he doesn't seem to growl at all. The music has gone lighter as well.

And trust me, I'm not a teenage punk. It's just disappointing to return to a band that used to be so good and see/hear this.

T.here goes another great, heavier, band to join the mediocre teenage metal bands.

  • @whitebeam but that's what i'm saying. this song is among the easier set songs on the album, but if you've listened to the whole album you should know there are heavier songs and heavier bits in songs; half-way through sketches of a motionless statue is one of the heaviest grooves they've produced in my opinion. but that's beside the point that i think there's no way you can argue they're joining the "mediocre teenage metal bands". and i'm not even calling YOU specifically a punk either.....

  • @thesubliminalhorizon and one more thing, i think you missed the point I made in my comment, that even if you want to argue they sound a lot different, this is still complex, intelidjent and heat-filled music. personally I think Daniel is the best and closest replacement singer that could've ever been found. Eric left to spend more time with his family, not because the band is selling out or something. Some of his vocal bits in arms or the sea and minor earth, major sky are on par with awake...

  • @thesubliminalhorizon And of course this is just my opinion, but I think Eric's voice had more BOOM in the clear singing, and the growling. I don't really know how to put it better, but it has a better clang to it.

I just seriously hope they haven't gone too.. Trivium. That's the impression this song gave me, but I'll give the record a fairer try.

  • @thesubliminalhorizon I didn't claim you were calling me specifically a punk, but you pretty much implied that everyone who thinks Textures has turned to a "worse" direction "just don't get it, the punks!1". And I'll give the new album a try, was just a bit shocked and unpleasantly surprised to hear this as my first taste of it, but I'll admit Arms of the Sea does sound very good and I hope the rest of the album is more like it than Reaching Home indeed.

  • @thesubliminalhorizon Well said.

  • nice but I expected a stronger powerfuler chorus after 1:13

  • I am ADDICTED to this song.

  • 0:09 newfags can't TRIFORCE

  • Bro, this is powerful.

  • holy mother flaking shit this is the first song I have ever heard that has the same rythm and feeling as the songs I've been writing for the past 4 years... I wonder is there still hope for my songs?

  • such a beautiful song its amazing, for the last 5 days im been listening this song and the entired album at my ipod while im taking photos at my hometown, greetings from puerto peñasco sonora mexico

  • I can't understand how people is so amazed with this new guy singing. There's no dynamic on his voice. No feelings no passion. It's obvious his voice is great and has a nice colour and voice range but guys, he seems to sing the same way, no matter what the lyrics are saying!

I can't find any Textures in his voice.

  • @bichi666 I find his voice incredibly powerful.

  • @Omeggia It is, but its also boring. He never changes the volume, the intensity, the strength and all those things. Please listen to the tune awake and you will find what im talking about. That's difference between a great singer and a incredible one. Eric was so alive when he sang... this guy is singing like he was boring while doing it.

Anyways, full respect to your opinion mate! ;)

  • @bichi666 As I respect yours. I miss Eric too but I can still see emotional value in this new vocalists voice. It has a very ethereal quality to it. Floaty for lack of a better word. New and old they're still beasts regardless :)

  • @bichi666 I'm curious, have you heard the entire album? I mean, I totally respect your opinion, but after hearing tracks like Stoic Resignation and Arms Of The Sea I really don't know how anyone could think Daniel has no feeling, dynamic or passion in his voice.

Also, there are some videos on here from recent gigs and Daniel really nails tracks like Awake and Laments Of An Icarus live. Don't get me wrong, I miss Eric too, but I think both are fantastic vocalists in their own right :)

  • Awesome tune. Boring singer.

  • @bichi666 think outside the box man. did you want him to dance like a mad man while singing this?

  • Rapin' that replay button.

  • Love this band.

    Cheers from Zutphen, the Netherlands.

  • fakk yeah, i love the new Mfucker on vocals!!!

  • ...Anyway, if it wasn't for the fact that he left Cilice to join Textures I would never hear of this fucking awesome band.

    And I really liked Textures.

Polars is great. kinda raw but hey.. for a debut, whoa, man..

Drawing Circles is awesome, the perfect breed of Soilwork and Meshuggah. Fuck me.

Silhouttes is a fucking masterpiece. I have to listen to it twice a week at least.

Of course Eric will be missed. But this is the new Textures, and THIS wouldn't be possible without Dan.

  • Oh, I'll miss this guy in CILICE.

  • Song Of The Year

  • @emperor262626 And the album of the year!

  • @emperor262626 absolutely agree

  • Awesome song! Can anybody explain what it's about and the video? Interesting....
