This is so awesome. Thanks for uploading this! I watch this movie all year, and I think it's just as good as the Christmas ones. It's nice to see it get some props, finally!
I'm kind of sad that they left out the Phantom of the Opera. They should have included him. I'm sure Allen Swift could have done a lovely French accent for Erik.
We used to watch this every Halloween in the 70's. We LOVED it...I still love this movie. And now my 4 year old son is now enjoying this movie. He is mesmerised by the whole thing.
I loved this animated movie' it was amasing and so wonderfully fun! Now im in my mid twentys and want to get my hands on the film again just for pleasure and remeber the those delightful times again. .....I wonder if there is anyone out there who i could buy this movie from ??????? christina
Sinfully gay James Whale directed the 1931 film Frankenstein! Obama himself knew somebody cured of being GAY! Call 1-888-264-0877 for a genuine homosexual cure!
A Stupendous claymation flick! im an animation student & i have a huge fascination w/ clay, sculpting & and claymation...not to mention classic monsters!
Sad news: Allen Swift, who played nearly every male character in this movie who wasn't Boris Karloff, passed away recently. A true "monster" talent this man had. May he rest in peace.
Amazing figure modeling! This is a classic Ray Harryhausen style of frame by frame method stop-motion photoplay! I had no idea the operators were japanese! Aurora "Monster Scenes" model kits (which have recently been re-released by Mobius) were partially inspired by this film. Thank You for posting!
This was obvioulsy the inspiration for Tim Burton's horror comedies The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Corpse Bride.
But nothing comes close to THIS..I remember seeing this on WNEW 5's Creature Features the one Halloween back in the 70's. I've been in love with it ever since.
The greatest gathering of monsters and misfits under one roof, and the voice talent of Boris Karloff himself..what more could you ask for?
See this movie, it's a frightful delight like no other!
Either that, or I'm someone who just LOVED this movie from the first time I watched it. Burton MUST have been influenced somehow, look at his work and look at this.
My love for the movie comes at a time in my life when monsters were huge..Aurora monster kits, horror comics, TV monster movies, you name it. It was such a great time in my life, and you had to experience it for yourself! :-)
@Shawnster65 I don't knock yer love for the movie, I just thought it was funny how you worded that whole thing.....it was very lenard maltin of you....lol.
@OmniTron1000 Ha! Very astute of you, I used to listen to the Maltin Minute on Showtime years back, AND he's the ultimate authority on The Little Rascals (I LOVE Hal Roach comedies) and I guess a bit of the man rubbed off on me over the years.
I knew you weren't knocking my love for the movie, it's all good, bro :-)
@OmniTron1000 Also, Mr. Maltin is up there in years and he STILL looks like a kid, but that's because of is young at heart attitude, and that's a good thing.
As far as misinterpetation of everything you say, join the club, mate. Also, try being married for 13 years, and then ask me about misquotes and takes out of context, LOL :-) But hey, we better hurry, or we're gonna' be late for the Mad Monster Party!
@OmniTron1000 BYOB--Bring Your Own Bodies? After all, this is a Monster Party, and a few extra bodies wouldn't hurt them, hehe.
Such fun like this dosen't exist anymore..it must have been a great time to grow up back then, with the monster thing in full swing and the Aurora Monster kits, and Famous Monsters Magazine. I grew up with all this stuff in the early 70's as it started to wane, and I thank God I got a good dose of it before it faded all away!
@Shawnster65 yeah, I hear ya....I have to dig around for that kinda stuff....I'm not gonna get in tho the things in circulation today and the stuff I grew up with....let's just say, there is a reason why most of my movies/music is from a different time period....
@OmniTron1000 True. Like me, I like things from am differemt time period because what we grew up with was truly cool and unique. As well, thru the 70's and up to around 1990, everyone was so cool and tolerant and noone had a stick up their ass like they do today. Say the wrong thing to someone today and it's an excuse to start your own personal lawsuit wishlist.
@Shawnster65 Jeeze, aint that the truth....I can't even joke with people with out hurting someone's feelings....I never thought it would get that bad...but, guess I was wrong...
@OmniTron1000 Well, part of that stems from the "PC" climate America has moved to. You can't say a thing about anyone or anything today WITHOUT offending SOME group.
Funny though, that certain groups can endlessly instigate, antagonize, an defame whoever they want, because the REVERSE form of the illness is never recognized, nor punishable.
Geeez took me forever to find the name of this movie! Got it! Now to buy it on eBay or amazon! Gotta have it

@Shawnster65 ok, cool...I was just making sure, lots of people on youtube have a nasty habit of misinterpriting 90% of the things I say....
I myself have had plenty of exposure to Mr. Maltin, being an animation major in college he seems to turn up every where, lol.
