  • Fantastic,thanks for posting

  • lol...1 dislike on here. must b a yank

  • Brillant to see this its British Comedy at its best.

Chris 12002 ......Thank you very much for posting this .

  • Great sketch in excellent quality given its rareness. Why was this not included in the Steptoe & Son box set?

  • Wilfred Brambles always does that thing were he sounds as thou he just about to forget his lines, but catches it at the last second, I'd love to know if he does it on purpose. The Motorways would have still been quite novel then, but Wouldn't they have gone to Brighton anyway.

  • @yakacm The Steptoes always went to Bognor Regis for their holidays. But this was a live summer show in Blackpool so was set in Blackpool. It's comedy.

  • @yakacm He regularly forgot his lines and arrived late at read-throughs which it's been said annoyed Corbett immensely

  • These always put a big smile on my otherwise miserable and enduring face.

  • too good.

so professional, you don't get quality like that these days, especially live!

  • @drdawn86 Sure the characters on AYBS are unrealistic. But don't tell Mrs. Slocombe. She's likely to cry and her pussy becomes a mess when it's wet.

  • @drdawn86 It's certainly one of them. Steptoe, Porridge, Only Fools, Fawlty Towers, Rising Damp... some of the greatest shows in the entertainment biz!

  • Where the hell did you get this clip? It's AWESOME.

    Thank You for posting.

  • Poor picture rendition, but the video content otherwise was priceless. Three of Brit's favourite comedians come together to entertain the masses. Thanks for helping preserve their images to video.

  • Wow,i got the whole series and the 2 films but never seen this before.

Just dont make comedies as good as this today.

I was born in Ladbroke grove and can still remember a lot of the places where they filmed steptoe.

  • The same ones that laugh at you every day over your retarded atire :)

  • Abso brilliant got all the series and films, Steptoe rates along with On The Buses cant beat the oldies.

  • Harry H Dispised Brambel vice-Versus.

  • Ooo Ken Dodd ruins the sketch, just want Harold and Albert!!

  • you do know alfred was born in Ireland yes?? thats where he gets the wit.. brialliant show though

  • The characters name was Albert, the actor who played him was Wilfred Brambell. The scripts he worked from were written by Galton and Simpson, both of whom were born in England.....

Never mind, I'm sure the Irish are funny.

  • english comedy is the best in the world ,, and steptoe is a gem ,,

  • @JOKERLAD19 lol and typical british camera men.. 1:24 missing the action lol

  • I love Steptoe and son, Only Fools And Horses and this brilliant :)

  • Thank God god for youtube and thank you whoever posted this.

I love these two but I would never have got to see this as it happened 22 years before I was born.

  • I missed this by 1 year...67 was a good year for steptoe and son, I think?

  • hi bettypro, yeah me too, ! hehe

  • yea you took my numbers

lol!! I guess I have to share them with you ...by the way happy 42nd. LOL

  • LONDON TO BLACKPOOL by horse and cart, gotta love these guys....thanks for posting

  • I know that was so hilarious, i loved these two since i was little.

  • yes me too, i work with a guy who looks and acts just like Albert, we call him Steptoe.

  • My grandad actually looked a lot like Albert Steptoe, my brother always calls him my grandad when hes on the tv.

I finally bought the steptoe and son boxset about a month ago, so im made up that ive finally seen every episode.

Unless there are lost episodes not included which wud be a such a shame.

  • Does that in clude the film?

Have you seen the episode where they try to claim on Alberts life insurance and get the drunk doctor?

  • The box set doesnt include the films but i have them anyway.

I have seen that one which is similar to the ep were Alberts been claimin for a daughter and they have to get the insurance man drunk.

I love the scene in the film in the graveyard were Harold looks like a zombie and they nrly bury Steptoe.

I love the very last christmas episode, were Harold tricks Albert so he can finally go on holiday with his girlfriend and without Albert, it kind of signals hope for Harold in the future.

  • If i remember correctly, they get an old mannequin body and put it over Albert in bed, Harold goes to the pub to fetch the drunk doctor who then confirms Albert is dead, after the doctor has gone Harold then puts the dummies head in a stick and taps it on the bedroom window saying "give me back my body" and Albert passes out in fright.

I like some of the observations that are still relevant today.

I remember that episode when Harold escapes, doesen't Albert end up joining him??

  • No, Harold gets of with girlfriend on holiday, while Albert goes of somewhere else but i cant remeber were now.

I think Harlds passport is out of date, so at the train station he cant go but Albert just goes anyway.

But Harold knew it was out of date, So while his dad is off on holiday, Harold is left to go wherever he wants without his dad for once.

  • I think i remember that one now, am gonna have to hunt for it.

How old are you if you dont mind me asking......lol

This was almost 10 months after i was born but i remember watching these guys when i was a kid

  • U can buy it in most dvd shops, unless u just mean u need to search for it in ur own house.

Im 21 nxt month, its quite bfore my time, but i used to always watch Steptoe and Son when i was little. I just love the characters so much, and always enjoy watching.

That sketch with Ken Dodd was 22 years before i was born. I cant believe it was that long ago. There are so many great actors or musicians who are all either dead or old now.

  • where did you get the boxed set? in the usa I tried to buy any brit coms at our local fie store, but they looked at me when I asked for britcoms with a empty eyeball look, no idea what I was talking about!!!

  • look on the internet mate

  • Thanks for posting. Surprisingly I'd not seen this before.... where did you find it?

  • IS that the grandfather from "A HArd dats Night"?

at the end of the american TV show they say "based on BBC's Steptoe and Son"

wow- they changed a LOT in the translation!

  • They LOST a lot in the translation!

  • Thanks

  • Harry H & Doddy could have been brothers.

  • Excellent! Doddy remains a true comedy icon. Even the mere mention of his name makes you want to laugh. Although I have never been brave enough to last his five-and-a-half hour (& then some) live shows!

  • i could smell old steptoe through the television when i watched him as a child. he was that good.

  • I have never seen this before. Steptoe & Son were at there best live. Fantastic!

  • Steptoe remains one of the greatest comedy shows ever and Doddy still rules too... you don't get talent like Corbett, Brambell and Dodd these days!

  • great stuff

  • My God that was so funny. I never knew this was on film. Bravo and thanks.

  • cracking clip! bravo!!

  • WOW
