Wilfred Brambles always does that thing were he sounds as thou he just about to forget his lines, but catches it at the last second, I'd love to know if he does it on purpose. The Motorways would have still been quite novel then, but Wouldn't they have gone to Brighton anyway.
@yakacm The Steptoes always went to Bognor Regis for their holidays. But this was a live summer show in Blackpool so was set in Blackpool. It's comedy.

@drdawn86 It's certainly one of them. Steptoe, Porridge, Only Fools, Fawlty Towers, Rising Damp... some of the greatest shows in the entertainment biz!
Poor picture rendition, but the video content otherwise was priceless. Three of Brit's favourite comedians come together to entertain the masses. Thanks for helping preserve their images to video.
The characters name was Albert, the actor who played him was Wilfred Brambell. The scripts he worked from were written by Galton and Simpson, both of whom were born in England.....
The box set doesnt include the films but i have them anyway.
I have seen that one which is similar to the ep were Alberts been claimin for a daughter and they have to get the insurance man drunk.
I love the scene in the film in the graveyard were Harold looks like a zombie and they nrly bury Steptoe.
I love the very last christmas episode, were Harold tricks Albert so he can finally go on holiday with his girlfriend and without Albert, it kind of signals hope for Harold in the future.
If i remember correctly, they get an old mannequin body and put it over Albert in bed, Harold goes to the pub to fetch the drunk doctor who then confirms Albert is dead, after the doctor has gone Harold then puts the dummies head in a stick and taps it on the bedroom window saying "give me back my body" and Albert passes out in fright.
I like some of the observations that are still relevant today.
I remember that episode when Harold escapes, doesen't Albert end up joining him??
U can buy it in most dvd shops, unless u just mean u need to search for it in ur own house.
Im 21 nxt month, its quite bfore my time, but i used to always watch Steptoe and Son when i was little. I just love the characters so much, and always enjoy watching.
That sketch with Ken Dodd was 22 years before i was born. I cant believe it was that long ago. There are so many great actors or musicians who are all either dead or old now.
where did you get the boxed set? in the usa I tried to buy any brit coms at our local fie store, but they looked at me when I asked for britcoms with a empty eyeball look, no idea what I was talking about!!!
Excellent! Doddy remains a true comedy icon. Even the mere mention of his name makes you want to laugh. Although I have never been brave enough to last his five-and-a-half hour (& then some) live shows!
Fantastic,thanks for posting

Great sketch in excellent quality given its rareness. Why was this not included in the Steptoe & Son box set?

@yakacm He regularly forgot his lines and arrived late at read-throughs which it's been said annoyed Corbett immensely

@drdawn86 Sure the characters on AYBS are unrealistic. But don't tell Mrs. Slocombe. She's likely to cry and her pussy becomes a mess when it's wet.

No, Harold gets of with girlfriend on holiday, while Albert goes of somewhere else but i cant remeber were now.
I think Harlds passport is out of date, so at the train station he cant go but Albert just goes anyway.
But Harold knew it was out of date, So while his dad is off on holiday, Harold is left to go wherever he wants without his dad for once.
ADyingFaith 2 years ago
I think i remember that one now, am gonna have to hunt for it.
How old are you if you dont mind me asking......lol
This was almost 10 months after i was born but i remember watching these guys when i was a kid
