Turbos don't suck. Providing you have a quality system that's step up properly, it's actually better than a supercharger. A correctly set up turbo won't lag, and they don't put stress on the engine.

but really.. make sure your not on snow or wet, but really... dry ground... and pull your handbrake as high as possible... tip..downshift all the way to first gear... floor it...... and think about your wallet afterwards...

I already stated earlier in the comments, but all the GTI has is a blow off valve, so its basically stock. make sure the e-brake is on, turn off the stability control, make sure its in first, put the clutch in, rev it up to 4000rpm, drop the clutch and hold the accelerator are 4000rpm, its really easy

well my friend and i both got manuals because we love the feeling of control over the car that a manual gives you, and the GTI and the rabbit are very comparible actually, there is a little turbo lag in the GTI, none in the Rabbit, and they are both incredibly quick. We havent raced them yet.

you think if you add a turbo to the Rabbit it could beat the GTI, since you know the Rabbit is a 2.5L and becomes a 2.5T while the GTI is a 2.0T

Are you for real? You'd take a 200 HP civic SI over a vw rabbit? Considering VW's have the worst reliability EVER, that's a pretty nearsighted commented to make. I hate people who look down on Honda just because it's a honda..

VWs don't have poor reliability. Maybe you have owned some in the past that you just didn't take care of, but my Golf GTi hasn't had a problem since I bought it 4 years ago and I drive the hell out of it.

My point is, no one would take a VW Rabbit over an SI unless either
A) They couldn't afford the SI
or
B) Don't like Honda
Rabbits are moderately slow, SI's are moderately quick. Plus, rabbits look like ass and have VW's renowned electronic's reliability

Yes, GTI with a chip will own an SI. All factory turbo cars are like that. However, I think it's kind of weak that from the factory with a turbo, the SI can still pull on a GTI.

U say the new rabbit is better than the new civic, u must be a dumbshit who does'nt know anything about cars. The civic has a smaller SOHC engine and has less horsepower than the new rabbits DOHC engine, but it still does 0-60 faster than the rabbit (rabbit-0-60 in 8.1, civic-0-60 in 7.7), and as for suspension, both the new civics and rabbits have the same exact suspension- struts, coil springs, anti-roll bar, multilinks. Dont talk shit if you dont know anything about cars.

wow how i wish a civic will do 0-60 in 7.7 seconds. you must be shitting me. unless you're talking about the si then that's like 48hp difference. plus the rabbit does 0-60 in like 8.8seconds or something and the REGULAR civic about 9-10 seconds.
