From what I've read ever since the game (granted intermittently over 2+ decades, but from players, commentators, etc.), I haven't seen people doubting how bad the sprain was, partly because of Isiah's reputation for playing through pain. I wasn't at the game (so I'll never say 100% sure about the above), but he certainly wasn't running well in game 7. I'll defer to others more in the know, though.

Isiah is my favorite basketball player EVER!! I basically learned how to play the game just by watching him. For only being barely 6'1", he was the most fearless, guttiest players i've ever seen! And this performance was just simply unbelievable!!! Not even Jordan did this!!!

If I was in the NBA, I would have played with Isiah over A. I. ANY DAY OF THE WEEK! He was a Pass First scorer and true leader that was all about T E A M. There is absolutely NO Way that AI is even in the same conversation with Isiah. He not be a great GM but he was one amazing point guard, probably the best in his day.

@MasterRecordNando Oscar Robertson is the 2nd greatest player in my opinion behind of course mike. not only did he avg a triple double in a season, but he almost did it for his whole career (28, 10 and 8). i would also take him, magic, and AI over isiah
