  • Stockton got throw to the ground and when he got back up he took an elbow to the face. I'm actually surprised it took him as long as it did to retaliate.

  • Where the fuck was Karl Malone while this was happening?

  • why do Jerry Sloan and Stockton always get screwed by Refs??

  • Stockton was a god damn warrior!! Best pure PG in the History of the game, bar none!

  • stockton tossed that lil nigga

  • Haha damn.....Stockton @ 6'1" 175 lbs, David Robinson @ 7'1" 250 lbs, an altercation happens and Stockton is still standing.

  • @AbbeyRoad52 Not only is Stockton still standing, but the Admiral was on the floor. Stockton was such a bad ass.

  • @AbbeyRoad52 Stockton comes over and sets a pick on david with an elbow and then just grabs onto david..david has enough of that an tosses john like a ragdoll. That's reality. When it happens again david gets low as to not take it in the ribs, john grabs on again and dave puts his hands up and stands erect, waiting for the foul call. of course dave is going to go down not defending himself, standing tall and looking for a call against that scrappy legend, don't make it out to be more than it is.

  • That seemed like an altercation between everyone else except Robinson haha. He didnt even get into it and stockton was standing right next to him

  • john stockton is the fuckin man............1.stockton 2. magic 3. nash 4. robertson 5. isaiah

  • Awkward how he named his son David....

  • The announcers didn't like the Spurs. Typical haters...

  • the most substantial thing JR REID and his FLAT TOP ever did. Typical UNC scum

  • stockton is a tough ass little white boy...

  • Man, today's NBA is weak.

  • Lol, if any NBA player today got elbowed like that they would've flopped like 8 feet and start crying and complaining like a little bitch.

  • @stallionplaya52 Also there will 5 techs 8 flagrants and 6 ejections lolololol

  • always funny to see wannabe players try to classify Stockton as dirty. funny how his on court opponents have all said the exact opposite numerous times, but of course you keyboard warriors know better.

  • @sfy2004 People classify him as dirty in a professional kind of way. Stockton knew the little things he could get away with at a certain time. Especially when 'invading' space on shooters. It doesn't make him less of a player. If anything, nobody plays to get in people's heads anymore since they are too busy learning fundamentals they should've learned awhile back.

  • the amazing thing about stockton is despite his lack of raw speed, he made it up with great instincts, amazing skill and high basketball IQ. Of course having that edge as well solidified himself and malone as the leaders of the Jazz for over a decade. And the fact him and robinson got heated over something competitive is awesome. You NEVER see that anymore in the league and if you do, its kinda fake.

  • today's pussified nba, that would've been an ejection with a season long suspension. I didn't like that little fucker Stockton after him a Malone would eliminate my Lakers but, he was a scrappy, defensive guy who didn't take shit from anybody unlike some of the weak ass point guards today.

  • Lol i wonder if these were Utah commentators

  • David Robinson could easily kill John Stockton, but he's too nice and too classy to fight back.

  • John Stockton best passer ever, but on the court he'd fight with you physically but he wouldn't argue or whine about it.

  • Two players that rarely got rattled; got rattled.

  • John Stockton is the best pure point guard ever and David Robinson is one of the best centers in NBA history. Fights happen, but this is unlike bad boy Pistons who were just looking to fight.

  • "athletic" or "gifted" while Whites were "heady" or "hard-nosed". It's changed some but some of that stuff lingers today. When's the last time somebody called John Stockton blazing quick although for 8 or 9 years he was the fastest or one of the fastest guys with the ball from foul line to foul line.

Meanwhile how do most people describe a guy like Rondo for example. Mark Price used to shake the s%*t out of dudes and all ppl talked about was his jumper for the most part. But things are bettr

  • The point was that Larry was great but that his greatness would be viewed differently if he were Black and the evidence of that is that Blacks had been doing stuff that had never been done before for the most part and the league's popularity had continued to dwindle.

Even with very good White players in the league in the 70's and early 80's like the ultimate showman Pistol Pete, Paul Westphal, Rudy Tomjanovich, Bill Walton, Dave Cowens, Gail Goodrich and others. Plus, Blacks were called

  • @jonbap426 Hey, as far as '77 goes that's not really a reason to not know about that era. I wasn't alive in WWII but I know who Mussolini was and I wasn't alive in 1947 but I know who Jackie Robinson is.

When Isiah Thomas got slammed for his response to Rodman's comments about Bird (You can Google if not familiar) he was speaking to a larger issue but the mainstream media tried to twist what he was saying bcuz he was really taking them to task about the way Blacks were depicted in bball.

  • I'm not saying he was dirty - I'm stating a fact that he was voted by his peers as Public Enemy 1 or 2 for several years running. You can look it up if you want to. He and Rodman... I said that to me he wasn't particularly flagrant but then again I'm wasn't playing against him and they were.

That was his rep though for sure.

  • To do with the Jazz offense and all the back screens in the paint that JS had to set and at his size he had to almost move into the contact and as a result he's jacking up other guys lower backs and sides.

I never saw him take a guy down on the break, or bow in the face, or flagrant a guy. To me, JR Ried and Karl Malone were dirtier and Rodman as well but the players should know better than me.

Another poster talked about KJ and Tim Hardaway "owning" Stockton well it's hard to compare them

  • Robinson and Stockton the calmest on the court standing next to each other 0:48 lol

    Luv the 90s

  • Jerry Sloan, Karl Malone and John Stockton: three of the toughest players and personalities in the history of the NBA, all on the same team!! Jerry Sloan was a MONSTER in his playing days!! I hope the NBA can be great again one day like it was.

  • @jonbap426 Here's the deal - very few people appreciated the NBA back in the day, meaning the mid-to-late 70's and it was largely racial. Then when the games bogged down in the 90's with 75-71 scores people reminisced about the 80's ball and the 70's!

One of the great fallacies is that there were no ballers until Magic and Larry came when in fact some othe greatest dudes to ever touch a ball were in the league b4 them but all people talked about was selfish ball and cocaine.

  • @readmore2008 - Most definitely! The Russell/Chamberlain matchup had people glued to their television sets in the 50's and 60's and the NBA owes such a debt of gratitude to those two titans. About there being a racial divide in the 70's I wouldn't have a clue, I debuted in '77, lol.

  • In fact, people now talk about how unselfish and sound the old-schoolers were when they were in the league the purists used to diss them. I remember getting into arguments with ppl about Ice Gervin and World B Free and Gus Williams and saying that when you can score like that you're a fool if you don't look to shoot it every trip up the court.

Hell, the purists used to diss Kareem!! One of the greatest and smartest players in history so what did they know??

  • Spurs all day baby! (:

  • Spurs 90, Jazz 66 LOL

Don't jump all over the big fellas fouling the shit out of them if you don't want the elbows to start swinging

  • Nobody should pick a fight against a team that has Karl Malone in it.

  • @gaz0044 Karl Malone is a pussy, he never did shit in an NBA fight

  • @kevinseveneleven That's because he didn't want to commit murder. I'd love to see you tell Malone that he is a pussy to his face. I once heard he hammer dunked Chuck Norris, and got the foul. Stockton with the assist.

  • @gaz0044 Now you're just acting like a clown & it's not really making a good case. Maybe you should upgrade to full-on inbred retard, at least give me something entertaining.

  • @kevinseveneleven Making a good case? This isn't court, you special homo, it's Youtube. If you want something entertaining, Skype your Grandma. CUYA.

  • @gaz0044 The Chuck Norris joke that didn't make sense was funnier. Special homo, skype my grandma... what is that even supposed to mean? People don't say stuff like that outside of your weirdo household. You would've been better off with the inbred yokel angle. Try again, this time misspell a bunch of stuff and say something racist!

  • @kevinseveneleven yeah, that'd be funny.

  • sigh another bunch of cheap shots by the games dirtiest player. And another no call no flagrant no suspension for Stockton.

  • Man, Stockton was throwing elbows at virtually everyone on the Spurs.

He was one of the dirtiest players in the league, but tough, too.

  • well what do you expect you someone is swinging and slappin at you... obv. the bows come out play tough or sit that pussy ass on the bench! plain and simple

  • sickest part of the video.. 00:41 Stockton, all 180 pounds of him, throws The Admiral to the floor.

  • 90's NBA at it's best. The GREATEST players in NBA history played in the 90's.

Anyone calling Stockton anything but an amazing player doesn't know shit about basketball. He's one of the GREATEST guards in NBA history. And he didn't take no shit from anyone.

He said "you're a foot taller than me, well fuck you I don't care" I loved that attitude. If The Knicks had a PG like Stockton the would've won a championship!

  • @GialloHorror If the Knicks had Stockton they would have beat HOU in the finals for sure and maybe won more but i don't want to downplay Malone's abilities... And yes Stockton is clearly one of the best ever

  • @alec9tap To this day, we still need a PG lol

  • @GialloHorror you mean 80s

  • @GialloHorror Hey, don't look now, but The Knicks have a PG LOL!

  • @GialloHorror Very true, except the Knicks winning. You're forgetting that MJ was still in the league lol

  • if john gets mad like that there is a good reason cuz he does not like yo play like that

  • Stockton didn't play that...He like a NBA Brett Favre

  • Stockton didn't play that

  • Stockton has heart and balls.

  • Stockton's a true beast. Once of the most intense players, ever. He looked like such a softy, but put his heart on the floor once gametime came.

  • how you gonna let leave it to beaver punk you

  • It's hard to compare Stockton to Kj and TH bcuz they would typically shoot more than JS. So they might go for 30 and 12 against JS and that's great but Stockton might 16 and 18 and shoot 55%-60% from the field. So if we figure 3 3pt shots in the mix either assisted or scored that 57 points for KJ/TH and 55 for Stockton with typically a higher shooting pct.

That's not owning, that's a battle between equally matched peers. Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you.

  • Stockton and Robinson were two of the classiest players ever, and they probably apologized shortly after this happened. 15 years later, losers argue on the internet over which of the two is the bigger bitch.

  • @havlorech Although I agree with yout last sentence, Stockton definitely constituted a dirty player; he cross-checked and elbowed opposing players constantly, much like his teammate, Malone.

I guess that he proved classy in the sense that aside from the physical shots and chops, he just played the game, kept his mouth shut, and refused to toot his own horn.

  • @havlorech c'mon..i love both, but as a 22 year life-long rockets fan lemme tell you...Stockton was NOT THAT CLASSY. Dirty as fuck lol

  • @htownnigggga He was dirty on the court but in a scrappy, competitive way, As was Jordan,Barkley,Rodman,Malone,Bird etc.... They all did whatever they could to get an edge... But they all had class off the court especially Stockton (Coming from a Bulls fan raised in Chicago during the 90's) Even then i knew watching the NBA in the 90's was something special, the moments, the players, the rivalries, and the respect for the game from both fans and players was unmatched...Good times lol

  • @havlorech John Stockton was a dirty player.

  • @havlorech Give me a break, Stockton was one of the dirtiest players to ever play the game. Any opposing pg will tell you that who played against him. You knew you were getting an elbow to the rib cage every time you played the Jazz from Stockton if you were a guard.

  • @havlorech Yeah Robinson was classy. But Stockton is a little different story. As Steve Kerr said "I have the utmost respect for John and we are firends, but he was a dirty, dirty bastard" :-D

Stockton was one of the dirtiest players ever..

  • It's pretty clear that Robinson was the bitch in the video people. Stockton took a dirty elbow to the face, came back and punked Robinson. How the hell does that make Stockton a baby

  • John Stockton is 6'1''. David Robinson is 7'1''. Stockton took Robinson the fuck down.

  • @sumskater999 Clearly DR was trying not to appear to be the aggressor and in fact he accomplished that. That's not a manhood issue - it's just smart basketball. Unlike the idiots you often see in football especially that get caught up in trying to be "tough". Just play the game unless a guy really gives you the bizness.

BTW, JS was voted 1 or 2 along w/ Dennis Rodman for a number of yrs as the dirtiest player in the L by his fellow players. I think that had to do with

  • @readmore2008 John Stockton, a dirty player?? He was one of the most wholesome players the NBA ever had. He only became an aggressor when he had reason too, like here when he didn't get the deserved foul call.

  • @sumskater999

You don't know your nba history young one, John Stockton is one of the most dirtiest players in NBA history, he's the best pure point guard imo and very tough and polite off the court, but if you didn't know that he was a dirty player on the court, you need to do your homework

  • @Hawkhunter07 I saw Stockton in postseason games, including the 1997 and 1998 Finals. He never struck me as dirty. I'm just saying, you youtube "John Stockton fight" and this is the only real result you get.

  • @sumskater999

    /watch?v=IY17-5vp0kk

@ 7:55 hear Steve Kerr call Stockton a DIRTY BASTARD and Kenny Smith agreeing on it, this is just a small example, John Stockton was voted as one of the most dirtiest players by other NBA players in the league for a consistent number of years, being dirty does not mean getting into fights, but frequently having cheap shots at others that goes unnoticed by the ref to gain an advantage over your opponent

  • @sumskater999

    /watch?v=Z-cG7uUBYxo&feature=related

@ 1:37, Gary Payton talks about how everybody says John Stockton is dirty, and I reiterate, being dirty does not mean getting into fights, but getting into people's nerves and doing things that goes unnoticed to the refs and pissing you off, Stockton and Rodman were 2 of the dirtiest players in the late 80s and 90s to do this, it amazes me that you don't have a clue about this yet you claim that you watched the 97 98 finals

  • @Hawkhunter07 lotsa dirty play then. Thing is you had to be smart enough to exploit it and work around it with officiating. Its hella better than the trend now of exploiting the bump by selling it whenever you get contact. Especially that pussy ass Chris Bosh sell last season on Boozer.

  • @sumskater999

    Also, I apologize, I don't know why I'm being a dick about this =(

  • @Hawkhunter07 All I'm saying is that I saw those Finals and I didn't catch it. I'm not saying it didn't happen, because if he could get away without a call, I clearly wouldn't have seen it. But if you and everyone else says so, I'll believe you.

  • LOL Robinson is huge and gets bowled over by Stockton? That's kinda sad. Pretty good acting by Robinson tho.

  • tht david robinson flopped alone makes him pussy

  • JR Reid is the dirtiest player I've ever seen. He needs to be kidnapped and murdered in front of his family. Fuck that piece of human trash.

  • @FrankGarrett316 tht sounds personal...did he fuck your bitch?

  • Still amazed at how Soft was David Robinson

  • Comment removed

  • @Gauchoo1234

Dude, dude, seriously, dude, you could not be more wrong!

There are few star PGs Stockton owned as much as those two.

Google "John Stockton matchup", should be your 1st link...

  • my left speaker enjoyed this video

  • this is just stuff that happens in sports. Stockton was tough and a true class act. Same for David Robinson. Karl Malone was a dirty Mo' Fo tho.

  • stockton got what he deserved. thrown on the floor. if you notice he was holding david robinson on the back screen in the beginning

  • Lol as nice as David Robinson seems, he's one of the last guys I'd try to fight with. He's huge and he was in the military.

Stockton had a lot of heart though.

  • Thats My BOY!!

  • LOL at the Stockton lovers. He's a bytch. Little man, stay on the perimeter. What is a big man suppose to do, let a little guy pick him, hell no. The epitome of him being a bytch is having Karl Malone cheap shot Isiah Thomas for him, because Isiah was lighting him up in a game. People stay kissing Malone and Stockton's asses, home many rings to they have, 0.

  • @MrRedbone19 man, why is it that niggers hate Stockton so much? Perhaps, because he's the greatest PG ever, better than nigger Magic Johnson.

  • @bishop102 You racist piece of shit.

  • LOL David was thinking "I could kill your little white ass right now if I wanted to".

  • Stockton woulda whoop Robinsons ass.

  • @Lorenshyne Lol

  • stockton getting in a fight with someone? damn, never thought it was possible.

  • they pickin on stocky

  • Stockton was tough!!

  • Wow, couldn't believe it when I saw the title. Stockton vs. Robinson? What was it, a pillow fight? Seriously though, those are two of the nicest guys to ever play the game.

  • damn stockton can fight!

  • Stockton immediately yells at the refs lol

  • hahahaha stockton should go into UFC he is strong as hell!

his the toughes! i wish he had won a ring 3 times!!

  • The Mayweathers would claim that Stockton was on Steroids when he dropped Robinson

  • Sloan was about to kick Rodman's ass, lol

  • John Stockton, Defense: A. Takes more than his fair share of elbows to the head while fighting through picks.

  • Stockton was a beast. Setting picks on dudes like David Robinson who is arguably one of the toughest players ever to play in the league. Gets elbowed, gets thrown down and next defensive set he still goes in the paint and gets him some.

  • I really miss guys like Stockton. I wish the game could still be played with toughness and heart.

  • robinson shat on stockton the puss

  • Stockton is still one of the best screen-setters to ever play this game. The backdoor screen of his was amazing.

  • robinson would kick his ass

  • J.R. Reid was a well-known thug and cheap shot artist. Check out what he did to A.C. Green.

  • @jryan1971 i cant find the video lol

  • @MrYCplayer

I can't find it either but read this story. It tells you the kind of person J.R. Reid was.

  • @jryan1971 thanks bruh haha asuming ur a guy lol

  • The "Floor General" took down the "Admiral"....

  • Anyone saying that Stockton is a bitch or pussy obviously never watched him play. The guy are the epitome of tough and retired as the league leader in assists and steals, both by wide margins. Jordan, Payton, and Barkley have all expressed a great deal of respect for Stockton and rightfully so. To call him anything but a legendary player means you don't know what you are talking about.

  • @victoralvarez84 Payton even said Stockton was harder to guard than Jordan because Stockton got everyone involved

  • Stockton's "pick" was actually a foul, and then throws a whiny baby hissfit when David Robinson shakes him off

  • @mrpopoz

Don't you mean when John Stockton overpowers him and throws him to the ground? It's no coincidence Robinson couldn't do it without Duncan, dude was as soft as it got when it came down to it.

  • hahaha stockton is ringless what a pussy bitch

spurs wrack up 4 rings bitchass niggers thats wat poppin

  • @madhazzer yeah, lets see you take on a dude twice your size.

  • @cjhaws1

stockton didnt "TAKE HIM ON", all he did was shove him to the ground as hard as he could when robinson is just standing there.

stocktons a little pussy bitch. he knew he cant win the fight so he resorts to cheap shots.

what a ho bitch stockton is

  • @madhazzer your mum ringless to. cuz your dad left her. becuz of you

  • @evol121

u mad that the admiral shit all over the utah jazz? thats why jerry sloan retired you cocksucking fucktard mulinyan

  • stockton is a f****n b***h!!!!

  • That guy Spencer initiates all the contact...weird, it looks like he's trying to hurt Stockton sometimes

  • Funny how people can watch something and totally miss what the video clearly shows because of who they root for. Stockton a baby? The video starts with him setting a pick on Robinson, who throws him to the floor (something not discussed in the duration of this video). Then, he gets up and gets elbowed in the face. Next defensive possession, Stockton sets another pick on Robinson, who bear hugs him. So Stockton pushes him off. But Stockton will always be the "dirty player." Robinson guiltless.

  • @halfhoosierhein Well, no, not really. To be fair, when Stockton sets a pick on Robinson in the beginning of the video he also wraps his arms around him while doing so, which he may have been doing all game. Also, in both instances and never commented on by the commentators, Felton Spencer can be seen shoving into Robinson - first he shoves Stockton into Robinson in the beginning during the first pick - and then he bumps Robinson hard right before Stockton throws him down in the next play.

  • @halfhoosierhein I loved Stockton, but what happens at 2:05 is not him setting a pick, it's him trying to throw his left shoulder into Robinson. Also, I don't see a bear hug by Robinson. Stockton simply got pissed by Reid's elbow & tried to take out a guy twice his size; most other centers would've laid him out for it, but D-Rob's too gentle.

  • @halfhoosierhein I checked the 1st few seconds, & it's the same thing; Stockton tries to throw his shoulder into Robinson, then actually wraps his right arm around him, so D-Rob throws him off...not saying John's dirty, but what was David supposed to do?

  • @halfhoosierhein wow.... you're so fucking stupid.

  • @halfhoosierhein at the start robinson and stockton got wrapped up and then felton spencer collided into robinson and that sent stockton to the floor

  • @halfhoosierhein Yea. Stockton wasn't 'dirty.' He was just tougher than the next person and the blackcentric NBA media wanted to label him.

  • Stockton was the man. He set tough screens on big men for Malone every night and didn't take bullshit from anyone. I miss Stockton. The Spurs sucked until they tanked a season to get Duncan. Also, Duncan will never be as good as Malone. Besides, Duncan is a 7 foot center, not a forward.

  • Stockton was beast.

  • Comment removed

  • John one of the toughest players ever...

  • All I see is John Stockton being a fucking crybaby because he along with his piece of shit Jazz team was getting their asses beaten. Badly. Never won a ring, John.

  • @Weez2202 Yeah, let's see you go set screens on 7 footers and get hit constantly without getting pissed. Robinson was the one laying on the floor retard. Guess what? The Jazz won this series. At least the Jazz have never purposely tanked a season to get a #1 pick. As for no ring, watch the games the Jazz were in, the refs were horrible. Any other team would lose to the Bulls, all the champion Spurs and Laker teams would have lost to the 90's Bulls too. Don't kid yourself.

  • @zr1drifter First of all, I argue with the facts that ARE reality. The reality is that John Stockton never won a ring. Plain and simple. Second of all, John Stockton never won anything with one of the best power forwards ever(Karl Malone). Finally, the ref argument is so tired...what are you basing your opinion off of? Nothing but your own bias. I never claimed I could do anything, but I've never seen a member of the Spurs lose it(other than Horry) because they were losing.

  • @zr1drifter AND the odds of the Spurs getting that pick were 1% you fucking moron. Blame the system not the Spurs.

  • @zr1drifter Spurs - 4 Titles. Jazz- 0.

  • Oh and if you actually think David Robinson wouldn't beat the shit out of Stockton off the court you're fucking kidding yourself.

  • Stockton one of the most relentless players ever

  • Stockton was one tough guy, props to him for taking down The Admiral.
