We should NOT have to increase the retirement age. All we have to do get these "Lazy Slobs" off of SSI that have never paid into the system. There are too many that are on SSI Disb. & Medicaid that are abusing the system. We need to clean house and make them go to work or do without!

Get rid of all entitlements and foreign aid period! There is no incentive to be responsible if people are just handed money. The recipients of both act like a bunch of spoiled babies! It's time for their spankings!

@deficithawker youre applying all of the inter-govt borrowing to the ss trust fund, which is not what all the borrowing is for. additionally it cant be called a surplus if the positive equity of the asset borrowed (cash) is outweighed by the negative equity of the loan. what you actually have is a deeper deficit.

additionally, theres nothing wrong with supporting tax cuts since he supports cutting spending at the same time. if he were opposed to cutting spending then it would be a problem.

@deficithawker so taxing the rich solves our problem once and for all? or does it just serve your venting purposes. disregard the economic ramifications of driving away rich people first as that argument is debatable. wth is "inter-govt" borrowing anyway. do those not carry interest and thus somehow not count toward legitimate borrowing? all of these are also tied into the value of the dollar and that is the main concern when the interest payment overburdens the economy

Great work, sir. Receiving Social Security in one's mere 60s in the context of our current life expectancy is a disgrace. I have a genetic health problem right now that I need to pay for, and I'll likely die before I ever see any Social Security or Medicare money, so why can't I opt out?

Rand tells the truth and that is not what people want to hear. Cuts are painful, better to make them now rather than later, when they will be made for us. Look at Greece and Ireland, that is out future if we keep spending and borrowing like we are.

@LibertyMike1 One commenter from Israel was braggin about how great things are there and their healthcare programs, and I told him, that ours would be better too if some big brother country was giving us foreign aid to the tune of 30 billion in the next 10 years like the US gives to Israel.

I appreciate Gwen's civil and professional interview with Sen. Paul, but what is it about all these mass media journalists and their zealous concern for foreign aid being cut off from Israel? Why do they often treat that little country in the desert as if it were the center of the world? Is it because of the holy land ties involving religion, or is it really just some purely political reason? Rand is doing the right thing by cutting foreign aid across the board. America's needs must come first!

There IS strong support at home for the cuts that need to be made. Keep leading this long overdue attempt to rein in government, reduce spending, and increase our liberty.

You might also mention that the reason that Social Security is bankrupt is that our federal government (your predecessors) STOLE THE MONEY. It's not an unfortunate aspect of some Baby Boomer demographic. It's theft. Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. The government is not trustworthy.

@Liberty4Ever Where is the evidence of strong support for spending cuts? Polls consistently show that the only spending cut that is popular is to foreign aid. The entitlement programs are very popular which is why Republicans refuse to touch them.
