This is so awesome. I remember watching this movie trailer for the movie The Ghost and the Darkness when I was 9. I would turn the television all the way up and just replay it over and over. It's great to see it again 10 years later. Thanks.
@ToonJoey34 I'm pretty sure it isn't Bonnie Tyler, either. It's funny because I like this version of the song better. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it anywhere, other than on this video of course.
OMG thank you! This ad has stuck with me since childhood! I think about often and never thought to look it up till now as Im watching The Untouchables.
I think I found this on the Clear and Present Danger VHS as well as Patriot Games and The Ghost and the darkness. But thank you for uploading this. Tom Cruise and Mel Gibson sure were hot back when those movies were made.
there was another version of this played in theatres which had clips from rocky 4, payback and a james bond movie. if anyone knows wat im talking about please give some insight to make sure i didnt dream up the whole thing. lol thanks
I second this, who is the singer of this version of I need a Hero, because this version is definitely not Bonnie Taylor. I would like to know, because it sounds epic.
Ps: Not, trying to act gay, but Tom Cruise was a stud back in those days, lolz.
No, it's not Bonnie Tyler, just listen to the music of it again. Bonnie Tyler's version of the 80's is very distinctive, while this one is completely different, the beat is not as strong, and the girl here sounds more fluidly and softer while Bonnie was stronger.
This one is definitely different, which is why I would like to know the version or the singer to this song.
You don't need to do all that. All you need to get is a USB capture device which allows you to hook up your VCR on a computer and capture the clip that you want.
I first saw this on my copy of, ironically, Star Trek: First Contact. Twelve years and one home entertainment format later, I own all but four of the movies on this ad: Gallipoli, The Firm, Congo, and Serpico. This ad always pumped me up for something I wasn't about to watch. But looking at it now, my only question is: Where's Indiana Jones? Anyway, Thanks for Posting.
I remember seeing this ad a lot when I was younger. I'd swoon over my favourite hot young actors and try to keep track of which movies I had/hadn't seen.
Now I can say I've seen every movie in the ad, and man, do I feel old.
I uploaded this from another person's account, but it can be found on the VHS of early paramount VHS 1990's throiugh early 2000's The VHS that they are on are "Tycus" and "Air rage"

We had this on Mission: Impossible. I would never fast forward through it. Arguably the best trailer I've ever seen anywhere.
It's rather upsetting that it was Mel Gibson who had to look so damn fine in the Gallipoli part.

This advert seems to back a lot of Tom Cruise's and Harrison Ford's movies.
