  • EPIC!

  • This is so awesome. I remember watching this movie trailer for the movie The Ghost and the Darkness when I was 9. I would turn the television all the way up and just replay it over and over. It's great to see it again 10 years later. Thanks.

  • @Gilson3333 Same here!! 4 years old.

  • look at gene hackman rollin` 40 deep, like a g! The Firm good movie.

  • i remember i saw this advert and the huey crashing made me go out and buy apocalypes now because it looked so cool

  • who sings this song on this preview i tried looking and couldnt find the right singer?

  • what cover of Holding Out For A Hero is this, I'm pretty sure it's not Bonnie Tyler.

  • @ToonJoey34 I'm pretty sure it isn't Bonnie Tyler, either. It's funny because I like this version of the song better. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it anywhere, other than on this video of course.

  • Looking back at this, I'm very surprised that they didn't include any indiana Jones.

  • OMG thank you! This ad has stuck with me since childhood! I think about often and never thought to look it up till now as Im watching The Untouchables.

  • who sung this version of i need a hero

  • the good old days

  • the good old days

  • I think I found this on the Clear and Present Danger VHS as well as Patriot Games and The Ghost and the darkness. But thank you for uploading this. Tom Cruise and Mel Gibson sure were hot back when those movies were made.

  • The original was on the Lethal Weapon 2 vhs back in day

  • YES THANK YOU! I have been looking for this!

  • We had this on Mission: Impossible. I would never fast forward through it. Arguably the best trailer I've ever seen anywhere.

It's rather upsetting that it was Mel Gibson who had to look so damn fine in the Gallipoli part.

  • thanks alot

  • there was another version of this played in theatres which had clips from rocky 4, payback and a james bond movie. if anyone knows wat im talking about please give some insight to make sure i didnt dream up the whole thing. lol thanks

  • Funnychevy that was an MGM advert!

  • Did you get this from the beginning of the Ghost and the Darkness?

  • The music sounds the same as Bonnie Tyler's version, but a different voice

  • who sings this version of the song?

  • I second this, who is the singer of this version of I need a Hero, because this version is definitely not Bonnie Taylor. I would like to know, because it sounds epic.

Ps: Not, trying to act gay, but Tom Cruise was a stud back in those days, lolz.

  • This is most definitely Bonnie Tyler.

  • No, it's not Bonnie Tyler, just listen to the music of it again. Bonnie Tyler's version of the 80's is very distinctive, while this one is completely different, the beat is not as strong, and the girl here sounds more fluidly and softer while Bonnie was stronger.

This one is definitely different, which is why I would like to know the version or the singer to this song.

  • I've seen this on my copy of Star Trek:First Contact!

  • Same

  • You don't need to do all that. All you need to get is a USB capture device which allows you to hook up your VCR on a computer and capture the clip that you want.

  • This advert seems to back a lot of Tom Cruise's and Harrison Ford's movies.

  • I first saw this on my copy of, ironically, Star Trek: First Contact. Twelve years and one home entertainment format later, I own all but four of the movies on this ad: Gallipoli, The Firm, Congo, and Serpico. This ad always pumped me up for something I wasn't about to watch. But looking at it now, my only question is: Where's Indiana Jones? Anyway, Thanks for Posting.

  • This advert is epic!

  • VHS is STILL the king!!!

  • I remember seeing this promo on the VHS tape Face/Off. I don't remember what was after this when I watched it, but I do remember watching this. :)

  • I remember seeing this ad a lot when I was younger. I'd swoon over my favourite hot young actors and try to keep track of which movies I had/hadn't seen.

Now I can say I've seen every movie in the ad, and man, do I feel old.

  • It's on the VHS for The Saint too.

  • What VHS was this off?

  • I uploaded this from another person's account, but it can be found on the VHS of early paramount VHS 1990's throiugh early 2000's The VHS that they are on are "Tycus" and "Air rage"

  • @raymondleeleggs

Hatari with John Wayne also has this.

  • @raymondleeleggs And "Star Trek: First Contact"

  • @lemonsters08 its also on star trek first contact
