I just put two to three coats of seche vite over a glitter polish. When I'm ready to take them off I just chip at the edges and peel them off like a sticker. Then take a cotton ball soaked with remover and rub off any leftovers. It works for me.
oh wow that sucks :/ you should try OPI glitter polishes. i have two & they are pretty hard to remove too, but they havent chipped or cracked & they arent impossibleee to take off. (:
Quick question! Where did you get your nail polish racks on your wall? And how much space is in between each shelf? I've been trying to find a decent one for my collection and can't seem to find one that's right for my things. From what I can see, yours is great!
I have Medallion and Nova and they're both a beyotch to take off. I usually end up peeling them off too. Haha. It's really too bad because they're really beautiful.
Hi! I like ur videos a lot, jaja this is the second that I've see, this Friday I purchased 2 china glaze polishes, the top coat and the base coat, and well I had the same problem as u, ITS REALLY HARD TO REMOVE THE POLISH FROM UR NAILS, so I started bitting my nails to remove the polish, I absolutely love the colors but I didn't know that it was so hard to remove.
What can u tell me about OPI polishes, do u recomend them? well in Sally Beauty(Mexico)I can't find a lot of brands =(
I absolutely love glitter polishes, and I'm always wearing them. Lately, instead of taking forever to wipe them off with a cotton pad, I just dip the pad in pure acetone and wrap the nail in aluminum foil and leave it for a couple minute. When you take it off, most, if not all, of the polish stays on the pad. Saves time, and my sanity.
ttip for taking of glitter polish is to use the pots of nail polish that u put ur nail into some have like a sponge built in some like the one i use have like a brush u just hold ur nail in for about 30sec and twist and the glitters just come right off its really easy. im from the uk i got mine at the chemist/drug store it was like £4 i bought it in desperation to try and now i just keep it for taking of anything glittery... hope this helps
honestly, u give the best reviews for nail polish i ever seen! no joke! definately subscribing! don't listen to the negative people, they don't have life.
yeah, ruby pumps took me a while to get off, had to use extra cotton balls and more nail polish remover than usual, however, my ruby pumps got A LOT of compliments 8D
@alandon try using 100%pure acetone, i used it to get the polish off and it took like no time at all. The glitter still like ripped the cooton swabs so you have to use a few but it took maybe 10secs per nail...so fast!
I use sally hansen hard as wraps base coat with these.. it makes it easy to remove because the hard as wraps can be peeled right off.. unfortunately sometimes ill look down at my hands and one nail will be completely bare, because it will just chip right off without me realizing. its a risk i'd rather take than to spend hours trying to remove the glitter with polish remover.
$4.49 if you use your sally's card. I was just on the website and called the store cause I was looking to see how much they were when you use the card =)
I had the same problem with taking them off! I was so sad too because they are soooo pretty! But every time I put one on I just think of how long it's going to take to get it back off!
I bought a few of these on sale at Sally's and got soo many compliments when I wore them, but WHAT a pain in the ass to remove! I ended up peeling them off, but it made my nails a little flaky. They are seriously too gorgeous for me to ignore though, so I will most likely be buying more of them.
I definitely have to try them with a matte topcoat now! Do you use Matte Magic?
Hey girl! I am a total addict of glitter polishes and I know exactly how frustrating it is to get them off! What I do is fill a little tupperware container with remover and soak my nails (toe-nails too) for 3-5 minutes and the polish comes off so easily! Hope that lil tip helps!
Awesome review! Thanks for doing the swatches too. They sound like they are, uh, really hard to remove lol. And too bad they chip fast, cuz they look so pretty! :(
thank god that a youtube guru that actually knows something about nail polish is doing a video about it, it's a huge pet peeve of mine to see so much misinformation spreaded on here by people with thousands of subscribers, that's not to say i dont' adore all these girls but they're leading all these people to buy from websites that cost 3 times as much as h2t, also i kinda hate 8ty8 bc the shipping is more expensive and the costomer service sucks
i haven't ordered from 8ty8 bc i've heard so many bad stories and also bc i will not place an order without knowing my total including shipping, that's just nuts but i think both companies go by weight/number of polishes ordered, for a medium sized order i usually pay between $7.50 and $8.50 and wouldn't pay much more than that, i like to divide my order total by number of polishes order to reassure that i'm still getting a good deal per polish
use cosmetic grade acetone from beauty supply store....if that doesnt work then CAREFULLY use hardware store acetone....not good for your skin but ti will remove anything!
I love the look of glitter, but I HATE glitter polish! It chips, then you can't get it off, and the glitter scratches up my nails when I do try to remove it. I refuse to use it anymore lol
i think i like the IDEA of glitter more than wearing/taking it off. i dont those super chunky glitters that look like they would make your nails snag on stuff haha. I can't believe they released 60 at once though! crazy!!
Funny, I don't ever remember telling you that I live at home because I can't 'afford' to move out. I'm glad you know about my bank account and my life choices, yup.
i saw one at sally's last time called dreamsicle i didn't even know they were new, i passed it up for the 24k one, i'm gonna go back cause they look soo beautiful but i was worried about taking it off cause for me it's even hard getting all of the ruby pumps off, some of it always stays on
ok can i ask that you please stop wearing that shirt in like almost every single one of your videos!! plz, its fucking disgusting, take that money you get from your partnership and buy a new shirt so you dont have to wear the same shit over and over again. I HAD THE SAME FUCKING SHIRT WHEN I WAS 12. grow up
lmao Brooke! I totally understand where you are coming from. If you are going to unsubscribe to someone, do it and be discrete about it. Do not tell the maker of the video because that is hurtful when she works hard at recording and editing her videos. It is so unnecessary.
i was waiting on asking how you get them off and im glad i did i figured ud mention it lol - i would suggest anyone with acrylics tho to becareful because your not supposed to use acetone on them so it would probably be super hard without it
I did atlantis with a matte top coat and it looked awesome...I did not really have a problem with chipping though which is weird cuz I usually do...I had the best luck removing the polish with a tissue and then I just scrubbed the heck out of it
This has nothing to do with nail polish but I was wondering where you find all of your discontinued MAC eye shadows because I don't want to order something online and it be fake.
Try soaking a piece of cotton, putting it on the nail and wrapping it in aluminum foil, if not buy the scrubbie acetone jar from target, it works really well with removing glitter nail polishes.
I'm not sure if you've tried this, but you might wanna put some nail polish remover in a small bowl and soak your nails in it for a few minutes and then wipe it clean with an old face cloth. That might make it easier.
Same here, how would you compare it to Ruby Pumps? Also, do you use a base coat before you put the polish on? All of my polishes are much easier to remove when I use a base coat (plus it doesn't stain my nails as much either).
I use Cutex and have never had a problem with removing China Glaze. It doesn't matter wheather it has acetone or acetane or is for senstive hands. I use the purple one that smells like playdough. XD
Oh man, they really ARE so difficult to remove! I did a manicure with one of them one day and wore it for a couple days before taking it off and I was still removing glitter from underneath my cuticles for daaaays! It's crazy! I also hate how they make your nails feel so gritty. I recommend putting on a crap-load of top coat to smooth it out.
the quality of the china glaze glitter lacks tremendously.
i have two glitter polishes from china glaze. one that i dont ever wear because of how bumpy and terrible the finish is. and one that the quality isnt as bad [fortune teller] but is nearly impossible to take off. however i do no regret buying fortune teller AWESOME color. specially w. a matte.
still, the colors are awesome. quality of the glitter [the chunks of glitter] is terrible.
If you want to get your hands on any China Glaze nail polish at out stores you have to pay the equivalent of 15 dollars. Sort of jealous of your prices right now, seeing as I am very fond of China Glaze right now. *sighs the sigh of the put upon*
Anyway, I am totally curious about proper, solid glitter nail polish. I am not a fan of the regular wimpy glitter varieties :D
My secret with these polishes is... 2 coats of Pinnacle Ice acrylic sealer as a base, 2-3 coats of the glitter polish and a thick coat of Seche Vite. To remove it, use pure acetone. Hold a soaked cotton onto the nail for about 30 seconds and the polish should all just slide off.
heyy i dont know if anyone else said this already, but pure acetone is god when it comes to chunky and all kinds of glitter nail polish, it just melts right through it. you should try it! love the colors!
Oh, Scrangie used Fortune Teller, which is Liquid Leather with Spellbound topcoat mixed together. It's a Sally's exclusive! I bought it because of her, and it is nice.
I have a glitter polish from china glaze, not sure if it's from the collection you're talking about but it refuses to come off my nails. It's such a pretty color, but I hate wearing it bc it's such a pain in the ass. =(
I am so glad you did this video. China Glaze is the only polish I use. Its the only brand that stays on my nails for more than 3 days. I was going to go out & buy this stuff but now that I saw this review, I changed my mind. So thank you!!! I'll just stick to their basic polishes w/o glitter! Thank you Brooke......
What an awesome review. I'm so glad you let us all know about the downfalls of these because I (like most girls) would probably have been mezmerized by the sparkliness of all of them and bought faarrr too many.
What I've found solves the problem of the impossibility to remove is to put on a clear nail polish as a base. The base should be dried completely. And it should come off as easily as any other nailpolish.
great vid thanks much these are beautiful but ohyes that damn stuff is hard to get off and that sucks bout it. I know most of the sites want lots to ship so it ends up being cheaper just to go to sallys cuz it ends up being almost the same if your buying under 10 of them yanno. Love how detailed u are in yur reviews. Can u do a nailpolish collection vid if u havent yet i like those. ty again & take care.
I 100% agree with you on these. They are gorgeous but they suck to take off and they chip like a bitch! SUCK! But they are sooo pretty :( I peeled some of mine off too ;) I had no idea they came out with 50 though holy cow!
Great review. I know Scrangie photo is the reason I had to go buy Fortune Teller after I got Matte Magic. I had to go to 3 different Sallys just to get Fortune Teller.
uhhhh ... sparkly! like it ! don't think we have them here in AUZ yet... have to go check it out...some glitter ones are really good with heaps of glitter in them. but some are just not going on well and don't last long..love ! julia

I have a glitter polish from china glaze, not sure if it's from the collection you're talking about but it refuses to come off my nails. It's such a pretty color, but I hate wearing it bc it's such a pain in the ass. =(

Bad Kitty, Medallion and Atlantis beautiful!
Seche Vite has a really good topcoat. It is clear, sets perfect and dries in 5 minutes. Gives your nails a 'plastic' coat.. and it doesn't chip!

You need glitter nail polish remover. Don't you remember that?!
Maybe they don't make it anymore. It used to come in different funky colors and they sat on top of each other because of the oil.

LOL! Do they have different stuff at the ghetto ones? Both of the Sally's near me are pretty nice.

What an awesome review. I'm so glad you let us all know about the downfalls of these because I (like most girls) would probably have been mezmerized by the sparkliness of all of them and bought faarrr too many.

oh, brooke.
youre soooo awesome.
thanks for the review.
i have a question though,
hows the customer service at headtotoebeauty.
ive ordered from 8ty8beauty and it takes foreverr to ship.

What I've found solves the problem of the impossibility to remove is to put on a clear nail polish as a base. The base should be dried completely. And it should come off as easily as any other nailpolish.

I'm expecting my H2T order today with some of the glitters. I'm excited that you uploaded this review. :) Thanks.

great vid thanks much these are beautiful but ohyes that damn stuff is hard to get off and that sucks bout it.

The UK just doesn't do good glitters! Very informative, will have to get a couple for special occasions.

atlantis is gorge matte. at least i think that's the one you took to NJ with you. that was a fun swatch party

I just use pure acetone to remove glitter polishes... it is sooooo much easier than regular nail polish, though it is pretty drying to the nails.

;_; aw no! I hate that, that always happens with good glitter polishes for me. Do you recommend any other glitter polishes in their place?

uhhhh ... sparkly! like it ! don't think we have them here in AUZ yet... have to go check it out...some glitter ones are really good with heaps of glitter in them. but some are just not going on well and don't last long..love ! julia
