Is there anyone that know how to work on a KDS-R60XBR1? I have the four flashing lights, and all my fans have been cleaned and are working properly. Yet i still have the four blinking lights. Please contact me if you have had this same issue and know what is going on.
After spending $300 on a repairman to come and visit, he just replaced the bulb on this TV and it now works...but there are still picture problems that the repairman could not do anything about unless we spent more money. We will just live with the visual blemishes on this TV for now for as long as it still works....then we will get an LCD TV (non-projection, of course) instead.
i have exact same problem on my 60"+ TV. it can be two things causing this to happen.
1. Accumulation of dust inside the TV - 10% chance OR
2. 90% of the time its the lamp that needs to be replaced which is located on the front of the TV.
Watch more youtube vids about this to see the steps. its pretty easy. You can find the lamp for like 90 bucks according to a youtube user and his video.
good luck and hurry to fix it so you can watch more and more football games ;)

with the TV off-using the remote control- quickly press in sequence:
DISPLAY
5
VOLUME DOWN
POWER
All recorded fault codes will display on the screen. These Tv's are so easy to troubleshoot.
