  • Use to hate the rocketblet level. I always ended up in the water and pissed off Shirley.

  • pp, MOTHER/EarthBound reference?

  • I always thought pilot wings started on the n64.....forgive my ignorance everybody :- )

  • oh damn I wish I played Super Nintendo version, I used to play nintendo 64 version.

  • priceless, thank you.

  • i liked the n64 version

  • i remember this imma play it o my 3ds

  • Just started using the original ROM in the zsnes emulator in Ubuntu.

I literally cried when I finally loaded it up and memories from the days when I was just learning how to read flashed right before my eyes....

I never thought I would find this ever again because I forgot the title. This and Super Battleship are serious overdoses of nostalgia for me. Oh, and Donkey Kong Country as well ;D

  • OK, You're doing OK, but you could do better !

    I love this game.

  • Looks amazing.

  • @wilmcmillan Yeah those gold pads, (sometimes just silver looking) are the contacts that touch the systems internal pins and basically make the game cartridge part of the system itself as it runs, that's how games worked.

Blowing works because small amounts of spit helps make connections to the contacts and at the cost of advancing the deterioration/rusting by adding water to the tabs they will work temporarily. Proper way is with at least 91 isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and cotton swabs.

  • @wilmcmillan Some alcohol and a a earcotton will do the trick quite niecely. Just make sure to let it evaporate before pluging them back into a SNES.

  • @ShiryuGL Oh, how cool, thanks for the info.

  • @wilmcmillan If you properly clean the contacts all games will work perfectly without needing to blow on them. I can't say I've ever seen the need to blow on any of my SNES games, NES yes, but once those are cleaned they should be good for a long time. :)

  • I just got the 3DS version. I freakin' suck at the rocket belt. >.>

  • this looks like it would be on the game boy advance.

  • @SpartanForgeWorld300

    SNES = 16bit

    GBA = 16bit.

  • @Justin10473

    GBA = 32bit

Check the GBA wiki or anywhere online.

  • Amazing music

  • lol im sorry but my 3DS version is so much better =(

but this is classic, and without 3DS version wouldnt exist =)

  • @GenralosityXL I also have the 3DS version but there will always be a place in my memories for the original (my 3rd SNES cart, no less). A bit unfair to compare something from 1990 to something from 2011. The Nintendo 64 version is still the one that offers more variety, tough.

  • @GenralosityXL Heh, I played Pilotwings Resort once, and I have to say it reminded me more of Pilotwings 64, than it did the SNES version. Have to say I still prefer the original 2 games, over Resort. (though Resort isn't terrible) Nintendo blew it by not making a Pilotwings for either the GameCube or Wii, plus actually adding a lot of features(a la the jump from Pilotwings to Pilotwings 64) to make it truly memorable and fun. Maybe one day, Nintendo will make a new Pilotwings game for Wii U.

  • I still have and play Pilotwings, it is just a fun game dispite what it is.

  • This looks kinda fun...

    MVHH

  • Well your in luck cuz they making it on the 3ds;) lol but you probaly no

  • @bcourter82 In my experience, there is no such thing as luck.

  • Comment removed

  • Still my favorite flight simulator of all time. The graphics, gameplay, music...it's got it all. And it's only gotten better and better over the years.

  • I played this for hours when I was a kid. the funny thing is, now I'm a flight instructor. I can relate to angry Tony.

  • bwo bwabwa bwo... bwobwobwo bwabwo bwabwo bwobwobwobwa!

  • This game made me think Rocketbelts were real back then. and i'm still waiting for Sharper Image to sell some :P

  • i agree just bought a snes and love it 360 games boring me a bit call o duty 12 etc there all so similar

  • agreed. snes has much better games than all 360 / PS3 etc games combined. Pilot Wings SNES for instance rocks sooo much. Bravo to Nintendo, they're the best! =)

  • I love the rocket belt.

  • I fucking loved this game. Im buying an FC twin soon and this will be on the list too.

  • i love the intro music

  • I hear ya.

  • HAhahah you suck!

  • I miss the 2 dimensional games sometimes.

  • I loved the last mission where you fly a helicopter and blow shit up.

  • blah blah blah blah, that song gets stuck in your head for at least a couple days after playing everytime

  • It was skill!

  • did the americans call this sommat different? i can't find this on my emulator.

  • What is it with nintendo games and P.....

  • This game is amazing. Love the music too.

And this game has amazing graphics for a snes game!

  • Shirley and Al were mean

  • THIS GAME KICKS ASS!!

  • Awesome game.

  • This game was so cool I loved it

  • i used to love this game so much

  • I wish Nintendo would put Pilotwings and Pilotwings64 on the Wii virtual console for download. I bet PW64 will not be put on the Wii because of the Twin Towers in New York part of the game.

  • Yeah Man! I absolutely LOVED both versions of PilotWings. Most of the time that I played those games, I just wanted to fly around. Not really worrying about completing any objectives or missions, but to just fly around. The Pilotwings series was one of the few games that always seemed like a new game even after completing them. I, too am waiting, and hoping that Nintendo will put the two games on the Virtual Console. Pilotwings has a large fan base, and it would be a good move on Ninendo's part.

  • Man, I love the music from this! And Shirley could be bitchy, but she was kinda cute too!

  • Did you know it was composed by koji kondo

  • @highwayn9ne Lesbian vibe... not there's anything wrong with that.

  • LOOOOOOVEEEEEDDD this game the hardest part was the dam hangglider lol

  • mode-7 owns

  • i love you guys i miss this game

  • Wow.. this is my childhood here.. along with Mario kart and a link to the past

  • haha, that girl madea jerk comment... "was it luck...". I always thought Lance was the biggest jerk, too!

  • I love Pilotwings, but only the SNES version. I've played the N64 version before, and it sucked.

  • Aaah, sweet memories....

  • Cool,

  • I love this game soooo much, now im going to buy a super nintendo again just for this game SERIOUS!!!

  • this was an awesome game. it is one of the most fun flight arcade sims around even today. i wonder how pilotwings 64 is

  • The music sounds very similar to Super Mario All-Stars.

  • Pilot Wings was DA BOMB!! First game I bought for my SNES!

  • OMG! Thanks for the memories! I used to play this game when I was a kid until I turned blue. Everything brings back memories: The sounds, the music, even the instructors! Please post more!
