The US is getting poorer, not richer (huge debts), while communist countries like the PRC and in the past the USSR, had the fastest economic growing rates in the world. Also, Russia under communism was a fairly rich country. But Russia embraced capitalism, and Russia is a very poor country right now. Also, most African countries are capitalist, and I wouldn't call them rich.

In socialistic Sweden, we have close to no homeless people, anywhere, we have no family so poor they cant send their children to universities and get high grade education. We have the happiest people in the world, our life standard is the highest in the world, we have the second most democratic system in the world and all of this is thanks to socialism, we just want to make you Americans see things from our way, and off the record, many of us here feel sorry for you Americans.
And about monopolies, we actualy have free market here, there are no monopolies in sweden since the last goverment election, but the difference betwheen your market and ours is that our market follows restrictions, we care about human rights and not just making an easy buck.
My point is: I probably wont be able to convince you, but the way I see capitalism and from what I have learned from numerous debates is that in a capitalism goverment, they keep using the word "freedom", but how free are you if you are born with poor parents and is forced to work two low-pay jobs when you graduate, keep living on the edge of poverty until you get sick ,can't afford medical insurance and die. In socialism, we help you up, so only there are you completely free.
@SamuelThomasRanger Thats not true at all actually. You came up with such an extreme case I almost laughed. Freedom is not the product of equal results, but the product of equal opportunity. In a true laisez-faire system, social mobility is most present (not opinion; its fact). The areas of limiting mobility comes from government programs and awful public schooling (also government funded). No one in the USA gets turned away from a hospital. And additionally, we have medicaid and medicare.

The US is getting poorer, not richer (huge debts), while communist countries like the PRC and in the past the USSR, had the fastest economic growing rates in the world. Also, Russia under communism was a fairly rich country. But Russia embraced capitalism, and Russia is a very poor country right now. Also, most African countries are capitalist, and I wouldn't call them rich.

In a true laisez-faire system, social mobility is most present (not opinion; its fact). The areas of limiting mobility comes from government programs and awful public schooling (also government funded). No one in the USA gets turned away from a hospital. And additionally, we have medicaid and medicare.

With the insurance based system sometimes it is available and sometimes it isn't. What our system is based on now is money. If oyu have it, you can afford to be healthy. If you don't, hope you dont get sick. Is that OK with you? Wait, i know the answer already.
