While you can't re-use milk jugs, you can re-use pop bottles. Wash 'em out really well, give 'em a final rinse with a diluted bleach and water solution. Water is a no-brainer to store, but you can also store rice and beans in a 2 or 3 liter bottle. If youre gonna store dry stuff in pop bottles, let then air dry for a couple days to be sure theyre dry. Youve got a good start to a just-in-case pantry going, keep stocking! Might want to toss in a bottle or two of vitamins, Keep on prepping!
Good video-thanks for sharing. Just a few thoughts.. Brown rice, Minnesota wild rice, canned fruits, beans, vegetables, etc. pack more nutrients than mac and cheese and other low / no nutritional value items (I kjnow canned good are heavier). If SHTF, nutrient rich foods give you vitamins and minerals that will keep your immune system functioning properly. Canned fruit veggie also provide a source of drinking water.
cheap means more to me. i found some generic cream of wheat at wally world for 75 cents a box that was good till 2012 i bought every box. i have alot of treet lunchmeats and about 100 lbs of rice and beans as well as around 500 bottles of water.100 lbs of flour lots and lots of canned ravioli and tuna and veggies
Hey, you can use tape to tape up the open side of those boxes. Or to save space, take the stuff out of the box and put in ziploc bags. If you've got pest, get those food grade buckets, mylar bags and O2 absorbers for long term storage. Also, price match and use coupons to save more cash and increase you food storage stuff. Got hamburger helper for .75, mac and cheese for .25, and large 20oz cans of veggies for $1
@ferebeescott211 NO YOU CANT,YOU WILL DIE FROM BACTERIA.POP AND JUICE BOTTLES ARE OK,BUT NO MILK.LOOK IT UP.I DID IT ONCE AND TOOK A SIP AND ALMOST CROKED.I EVEN CLEANED IT WITH SOAP AND WATER.YOU CANT USE IT FOR DRINKING.
Yea the only reason i didn't buy water, salt, and water is because the day before i have bought some!! i have certain days of the week i go for specific things, and sells! Yes, you are right though for another 10 or 15 bucks you could add couple cases of water salt, beans, sugar but yea thanks for the comment
I like the effort but I think you may need some real food. Rice was about the only thing that is legitimate. I do understand what your trying to do, which is buy a lot of food for as little as possible but macaroni and cheese, roman noodles and spaggettio's will not sustain you for very long.
im aware of this, but the purpose of this video is you can get alot for a little and this food no matter how bad it is for you it will keep you alive. and im not saying this is all you need. you will have to hunt. tuna good protein cheap too but you will have to do more to survive long term, this just what i got today i have so much stored beans rice, meats, i mean you name it i have it im almost sure of it!
Great addition to your food storage! Keep stackin!

As far as water goes you can save your old milk jugs (the ones with the screw on tops not the pop tops) and fill those and its free
