  • So they're wondering if life can exist in that subglacial lake, as they are taking algae samples??? WTF

  • The melting point of water is close to 0 degrees C at 1 atmospheric pressure (at Earth's surface)... but this is not the case under the glacial ice.

  • 60 degrees below Fahrenheit.......does he mean 60 below zero fahrenheit????

  • @basmikiemike i lost it when i heard that

  • Beautiful footage.

  • So what was this?

  • @Boomer1941 Lake Ellsworth is a liquid lake 1000s of feet below the Antarctic ice sheet and apparently there are rivers of flowing water under the ice sheet - West Antarctica has a number of volcanoes so I guess it is geothermal enregy that keeps the lake above freezing - amazing they did say there was algae ( life ) in the lake - they also found a krill ( small shrimp ) in there also
